Yep 15 will work perfect! Then one extra quart left over to maintain it. I sometimes just dump all 16 in! Haven’t had any issues but it may be a lil full! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🤘
At 0:42 Finally someone that uses a Correct Size oil catch pan to do a oil change not one of those Cheap AutoZone 4 quart open mouth oil change pans that people use and have to dump out 3 times during the oil change and spill oil everywhere
I followed your video and use the Rotella and the Archoil. Good running so far about 4k miles. I finally met a great mechanic, Spanky and he is a diesel guru, He said he has been adding ATF to his fuel tank(s) for 15 years on his diesel trucks. I must admit since I started adding 1qt to every 30 gallons of diesel fuel, my truck had responded very positively, performance, quieter, smoother, faster acceleration. What is your opinion on this? According to my research the ATF has micro detergents that clean injectors and eliminating stiction. I look forward to hearing from you, and I love your choice of beer, lol
DId you mention why you remove the oil filter before reinstalling the drain plug? If not it's because when the oil filter is removed, it opens a valve in the bottom of the oil filter housing, allowing the oil in the oil filter housing to drain into the oil pan. Otherwise, if the drain plug is reinstalled before removing the oil filter, then the 1 quart or so of old oil in the oil filter housing doesn't get removed.
Thank you for a clear and concise video. I just purchased a 2003 F350 4wd/dually/diesel I would like to know what to expect as far as frequency for oil changes and fuel filter changes. We will use truck for city/highway and eventually pulling a travel trailer, no off roading or boondocking. We live in Las Vegas FYI. Thank you, also do you do a video on changing glow plugs? Previous owner says it may need since it is a hard starter when cold, it does have a block heater, but we dont get below 30 degrees in Vegas, so not sure if block heater will help. I appreciate you response. Happy Thanksgiving!
Good job. Might carry a spare hot side charge air cooler turbo boot. That one on your turbo outlet now looks saturated with oil and they get soft over the years from the heat and oil then pop. 👍
Right on! I miss when Costco sold the chevron delo 400 15w 40 oil there by the case that’s good oil as well. I haven’t tried the Kirkland oil yet but I’m sure it’s just fine! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🤘
PLEASE STOP USING OIL DRAIN PANS A HOME DEPOT BUCKET W/LID (BUT FOR YOU SHORT BUS GUYS YOU TAKE THE LID OFF WHEN YOU DRAIN IT) PLENTY OF ROOM. AND IT SITS UP CLOSE TO THE PLUG SO YOU DONT GET THE DREADED WIND BLOW OIL SPILL FOR YOU DRIVEWAY GUYS. NO CHARGE FOR THIS ADVICE
Yep go get a true ford motorcraft oil cap oem from the dealer! They are different heights as well so the aftermarket ones don’t fit right or filter correctly Great comment thank you! 👍👍
Use 10w not 15w. The reason. Is the lifters In the truck are the same lifters in a 5.7 liter hemi. Don't believe me, same part number. Would you put 15w in a 5.7 hemi? Ya didn't think so. Not to mention the turbo itself was not made for 15w oil, 15w oil is like tractor to bulldozer oil. A 6.0 is not a big engine especially when you got parts in it off a 5.7 hemi, it's 363 cubic inch when a 5.7 hemi is a 351. 😮 use your head when you work on 6.0 diesels
