How is IAIN not the top guy for “Best Ambassador”?! He is legitimately the only top pro who consistently goes on podcasts/interviews no matter what and pours his soul out to fans and gives top notch analysis. I mean the guy gave a fan $50!! Iain is the best ambassador in my eyes and it’s not even close. He gives honest information, never bragged about coaching Chris, and is the most loyal, honest, hardworking guy out there. Ian got some real knowledge of how to not be satisfied with greatness. Fouod just because a guy is a monser doesn't mean he has no flaws with what works already. When Mj spoke at Kobe's funeral, he would say how Kobe would reach out and ask him a question about a post up move at 2am in the morning. Maybe Kobe just dropped 50 points and already had 3 championships. Ian definitely won the second half of this discussion. #ohhcanadaheyy?!?

There is an optimal "form"/technique to target a muscle or different regions/divisions (e.g. clavicular/sternal/costal pec or thoracic/lumbar/iliac lat), this is biomechanics. However, the style can individual in the sense that you might not be able to execute it biomechanically perfect due to e.g., mobility issues etc. Sensation can help to tweak a movement or a machine to target different areas (regional hypertrophy), but biomechanics (which inevitably is based on research) is universal for everyone and those rules cannot be changed (i.e., different sensation in different individuals doesn't change "biomechanical rules"). You can actually check the research on rest periods, which is basically more rest is needed for the nervous system to recover to enable maximal mechanical tension (i.e. the stimulus for hypertrophy). But doing more volume with shorter rest periods might compensate for that (e.g. Brad Schoenfelds studies with 1-2 minutes rest but 10-20 hard sets a week). If you rest more, you need fewer sets to reach the threshold of maximal stimulus/mechanical tension for hypertrophy. So in a sense, this might explain why a Jay/Fouad training style might yield similar/good results compared to Dorian/Iain/Justin
@anth2290
@anth2290 Год назад
@@FouadAbiad it’s the same as is it a skill argument. Ronnie and Michael jordan say. Jordan can absolutely form squat just as good as Ronnie but Ronnie could never have the same skill to shoot a fade away jumper. Everyone is confusing the strength and sacrifice with the actual skill. Can jordan front squat 600lbs absolutely not but he’s also not eating 900 grams of carbs and on gear. Can he front squat with the same proper form as Ronnie absolutely that’s it that’s the skill is form not the weight that’s all relative. Does bodybuilding require way more mental toughness and sacrifices and what not absolutely but that’s not skill that’s person driven. Jordan can perform a perfect form deadlift but Ronnie would never be able to have the skill to shoot 90% from the free throw line that’s a way advanced skill.

@westendelite1 Год назад
@@92pittsburgsteelers of course. But the guys do a poor job of defining the parameters of their debates. What Justin and Iain are saying here is that by optimizing the control of your input allows them to accurately measure the output. So by standardizing -execution, tempo, rest periods, movement selection etc it can be directly measured into progress by weight on the bar and body weight accrument. And when you have that control a lack of progress is easier to analyze and diagnose. The missing context is that optimal training control (which can still be applied to high volume training) is only one variable in the overall goal of hypertrophy. Diet adherence, drugs, sleep quality, stress control and genetic component of each of those will end up having a way bigger impact on the outcome of a physique. But, like from Justin’s perspective, is that a good enough reason to not optimize your training?

@westendelite1 Год назад
@@92pittsburgsteelers I’ll definitely agree that iain was a bit inaccurate with that analogy, because there are tons of ways to train for any sport. But execution of your methods can still be optimized.
