8th Grade Sensation Rodney Purvis (Class of 2013) 

Wow! This guy would fit the Kentucky dribble drive offense perfectly! My son is in the 8th grade, so I greatly respect the maturity of Rodney Purvis. This guy is awesome! I hope Calapari is watching this kid. Kentucky fans will discover him for sure! I wonder if Wall was that good in 8th grade? Amazing kid! Keep up you grades and keep doing whatever made you the player you are!

I remember watching Rodney play as he grew up back in my home town. Natural talent with a lot of potential.

I don't know if anyone has made this clear, but he is currently in the 9th grade. My school is in his school's (Upper Room Christian) conference. I was not on the middle school bball team last year, but I went to the school's playoff game against URCA, and he is outstanding. He'll definitely play college, and has great chances of going pro. I'm on the bball team this year and sadly didnt get to see him play again, but I can't wait to see what college he goes to. Good luck Rodney!

he was in 8th grade going into 9th the summer that this was filmed. he was only held back one time. just like abunch of other stars in the league, lebron,rose,jennings,ty lawson,ty evans. were all held back too. j wall and a bunch or college stars were held back that is normal no days

hes very mature for his age, like muscular wise. im in 8th grade and my class has a 6'2, a 6'4 and a 6'5, so i believe his height tho. kids got great skills definitely D1 talent and NBA if he works extremely hard.

this summer.meaning summer of 2010. he is going from 9th to 10 grade.but he is playing with the big boys. 11th grade aau ball with CP3 and killing cats on the circuit so far.

ibe watched quite a few videos of this kid and im shocked by how much he plays EXACTLY like Lebron James. Every dribble move and evrything, im not saying its good or bad, im just saying its almost scary how alike there move sets are.

@MRBBALLMAN10 elementary school doesn't really count in this situation i'm talking about when a guy reclassifies in middle school on purpose so he can be ranked higher in his class (a la rodney purvis). Lebron was still in his right grade because his birthday was in december thats why he was held back. everyone in the grade he was in was almost a year older than him.

i kno tht kid in real life , i used to go to school with him , when i was in 7th he was in 8th , then he reclassed 8th to get his stats higher , so he is in my grade now (9th)

@vladweezyho93 his birthday is December 30,1984. if your birthday is past June you are suppose to be 17 when you are done with school I read his biography he was held back in 4th grade.I'm a super Lebron fan. Like you see how kobe was 17 when he was drafted because his Bday is in august,and he never was held back. BUT THE KING was. it does not matter tho everyone gets held back now days

@FSUDELUXE10 Is he really an 8th grader. News flash it is called "RE-CLASSIFICATION". Dude was an 8th grader 3 years ago when I saw him at a Pangos Event in Atlanta. Definitely has game though. He will terrorize the class of 2013 but he will be at least 20 years old by then.
