Here is YET ANOTHER one of MANY Treasures I saw when in Ohio, these ones being some 9 story Westinghouse Elevators with Type A/AE Fixtures! Finding an original Westinghouse in this day and age isn't something you see very often, and while seeing these elevators alone is pretty cool, the REAL TREAT about these is HOW FAST they are for JUST 9 FLOORS, traveling at 600 FPM! And not only are these things fast, but these have a VERY UNIQUE STAGED Acceleration! These elevators will travel slowly while going up and gown the first floor, but once they hit 2 going up and 8 going down, they just TAKE OFF!!!! As such, these elevators are an absolute BLAST to ride in and the fact that these elevators are Vintage and have original Westy fixtures just adds to their charm! These also feature a VERY RARE Westinghouse logo on the door track (these used to be Manual Westies when the building was built) and have a pretty unique quirk where if you hit the door open button a bunch of times while heading down, it'll open the door in between floors! Pretty cool, interesting & unique! All in all yet another great set of elevators in what is very much a Vintage Elevator Goldmine City!
Installed in Circa 1900s, 1910s or 1920s. (Manually Controlled Westinghouse)
Modernized in Circa 1960s or 1970s. (Westinghouse with New Cabs, New Motors, New Doors, Type AE/A fixtures, New Controllers, etc. Only the door tracks left as is.)
