When I do this and disable cmos it stucks on the mobile screen then when I close and open it again it boots but it's annoying

Above 4G decoding does actually increase performance, even for many older cards that don't have resizable bar. Resizable bar though only works on some of the 30 series cards and above.

@@ObakuZenCenter Yeah 4G decoding has been round for like a decade+ not ever seen a performance increase... nor decrease. As for resizable bar this depends on graphics card, motherboard and CPU support. The RTX2080 I had before technically supports it because it's part of the PCI peg spec and so did the Ryzen 3900X and motherboard. Nvidia said nah, it might be because a BIOS update is needed on the graphics card and that's not really for n00bs.

I agree I have a 3070 and after I enabled this every game ran like garbage and my gpu idled at 60 degrees

I had similar issue but it was my boot drive so I switch the boot drive froma 2.5 in sata drive to a nvme ssd

Using CSM is not a good idea. There are security risks, as well as less performance. Just convert the drive to GPT and use EUFI.

lol went through the same issue with the drive not being in GPT. There's a way to convert it but my system files were in another drive for some reason and it was all a big mess but finally got it working.

Then there's something else wrong with your system that should be fixed. Or you have a really old card with 4 Gb or less of VRAM.

Make sure your m.2 ssd is up to it, with older pcie gen 3 I've seen it happen more often. I upgraded to a decent gen 4 one and it solved it

Try to disable CSM while using resizeable bar Support. In my Case these both didnt work well together. After disabling this my Problem was solved :) But please tell me If it worked. Interests me a lot

Pro tip: dont listen to this guy either. ‘Don’t open BIOS or change any settings unless absolutely necessary’ is such poor advice. Acting like BIOS is some kind of boogeyman doesn’t help anybody. The vast majority of modern day consumer-grade motherboards have some kind of ‘easy-mode’ which do a pretty great job of isolating the more advanced or dangerous options away from entry level users. It goes without saying, if you don’t know what it does, don’t mess with it. While you shouldn’t be afraid of the BIOS, you do need to respect it. It’s a powerful tool that, when used properly, can definitely net you great gains; but start messing with things you’re not familiar with and you could very easily break something.

@@LCRich2001 Because in the bios so many things can go wrong depending on alot of factors and what works for someone's PC will brick yours and you could be one setting away from making your pc unstable or bricked so it's not worth it for the average user to risk it. We have all seen hundreds of people go into endless cycles of instability and blue screen of deaths after a simple visit to the bios. So the average user shouldn't use it unless they have something they need to do there ( like enabling XMP to get actual ram speeds ) and have done their research if it will ruin their PC or not. otherwise changing any setting you don't fully understand what it does is very dangerous and will give you headaches from instability. Point is you can't and shouldn't experiment with anything in the bios, you only mess with what you fully understand. The average user won't know what does what in the bios, thus shouldn't use it if so...

Your original blanket advice of “don’t touch BIOS unless it’s necessary” would mean nobody should go into BIOS to enable XMP, because it’s not necessary. Better advice would be more like what you’re saying now: ‘not everyone has the same hardware’ ‘it’s very easy for things to go wrong in BIOS’ ‘don’t touch something without full knowledge of what it does’ Your first comment is just devoid of any sort of nuance. You put it plainly: don’t go into BIOS. That’s it… terrible advice.

for alot of builds this will cause issues with black screens or instability issues, its come and go depending on the user, as long as you update your bios your pc should be set to its best performance while maintaining stability. For example im still booting legacy though i have a 3060 and a i9-12900k, if i do whats said in this video my pc runs like crap, xmp caused blackscreens for me

@@ObakuZenCenter No, this option is for users with multiple gpus or anything else using the PCIs. It does not relate to fps gaming boosts.

It’s used for gpu with vram more than 4gb because old algorhitm uses portions of data in 256mb/s between cpu and gpu, if you enable it, your cpu will gain access to your vram “through that bar” which will gain more fps because of the time data transfer between cpu and gpu are lowered. Stability issues seen only on nvidia because intel after multiple driver updates made their gpu stable with rebar on.
