Are we in a time warp? I had to double check this wasn't from a few years ago. 627k subscribers are already along for the ride, but I guess it's nice to have an intro video on file. That's crazy that viewers can actually click a link to make an appointment with you as their real life doctor, instead of just being our RU-vid source for GI info. For all the new viewers out there, I've said it before but I'll say it again: Doc Schmidt really knows his sh!t! ...literally.😁

Oh gosh, my mom just had colon surgery from a severe diverticulitis abscess that wouldn't heal. Conservatively after six weeks of antibiotic and drainage.: Surgery and colostomy. We're still in hospital. We got a long way to go because of her age but I change the bag for the first time today and it really is not a big deal.looking forward to your channel.

Is "leaky gut" a thing? I've been told I have it, but doing some research, there seem to be some medical professionals that don't recognise it as a genuine condition. It is blamed for almost every malady we have, that isn't a definate diagnosis. As I understand it, your intestines are permeable, but leaky gut apparently allows bacteria out to invade your gut microbiome and system? Your thoughts would be interesting.

Why are appointments maximum 15 minutes long? If someone has a real health issue a 15 minute appointment is useless. Why do "we" answer the questions that the nurse writes down and no one ever reads? Why is it nearly impossible to get a GP to try to find the cause of a serious health issue? No Dr. House any where.
