Dear knitting friends (and any non-knitters who get a kick out of a knitty chat). It was an uphill battle (Sisyphus comes to mind) getting this video out due to various technical difficulties with my computer, so I'm more than relieved that things finally came together (even if it didn't happen on Sunday night as intended).
After a few, ahem, complaints about the background music, I decided to leave it out, even if I felt that it was relaxing and quiet. But we are all different, and the music will remain part of my other videos. I hope this makes, if not everybody, then most of you, happy.
I have tried to link to most patterns and yarns that I talk about in the video. If the links don't work, try copy-pasting them into your browser and see if that works.
Thank you for showing up and being a part of my (virtual) knitting community.

Thank you for putting out a beautiful, intelligent video. I’m very happy to have found you. At my age (62), I find myself unhappy with most knitting podcasts. Not that you’re old like me! You’re wise and calm and a very good knitter , in my opinion. I look forward to viewing your earlier videos. Please know you’re doing everything just right for you and for your subscribers.

Hello from New Zealand! So many of your comments resonate for me! Must importantly, about comparison. I always say "comparison is the thief of happiness". I remind myself of this every time I find myself comparing myself and feeling like I come up short. Thanks for another great podcast!

Another lovely podcast! I understand the sense of isolation and the vital importance of independent podcasters to people like me. Two generations ago almost all women were taught to knit. Three generations ago all women had to knit. Earlier generations were slaves to these crafts that are hobbies to us now. My generation was mostly aimed toward professional careers. Most certainly I was. I taught myself to knit as an adult, took a very long break from it, and took it up again with therapeutic aims after a paralyzing injury to one of my arms/hands. SO much has changed. I have no knitter friends and no LYS. Your podcasts help me and others create the community that has been lost to many of us and I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration I derive from them. Be well!

I am about 8 years into knitting, and knit mostly socks and sweaters now. It is so enjoyable and I love to listen to knitting podcasts while I knit. I learn a lot, and also feel like I have a friend here knitting with me. I also spin my own yarns, and have discovered CONE yarns, which makes my frugal nature very happy. I reside in Colorado, USA. I'm so pleased to find a well spoken, well paced new knitter (new to me) to be inspired by and to just listen to. I live in Australia and have yarn supply issues as well. Most yarns I want are all overseas, the exchange rate and shipping makes most of it unattainable for me, so I problem solve with buying in Australia only. A lot of substituting going on, which has taught me a lot. I think it's interesting that we knitters who listen to others world wide will think something we did naturally is not an "acceptable" knit thing to do, eg weaving Stephen. When so many are so creative and have been doing this for so long, before the internet world. Love what you do. Now I'll go and watch your earlier videos.

Thank you for a knitting podcast that actually speaks to me, a (young) 61 year old woman. I am also a solitary knitter, curled up on my couch at home in Toronto, knitting madly and feeling my blood pressure drop. I was wanting to respond to all of your comments and queries and wish there was a simpler way to converse back and forth. How about a simple Cumulus sweater with that pretty gray-blue brushed alpaca? As far as Sonder Yarns go, the Sunday Morning DK and 4-ply yarn is wonderful! Unfortunately it is not sold in stores other than Espace Tricot who might be able to ship to you. It is worth pursuing as it is so nice to knit with. I had the pleasure of meeting the Sonder ladies last year in Montreal. There is also a great yarn store here in Toronto that sells most of the Danish yarns you mention called The Knitting Loft if anyone is looking to buy those brands. So much more to add but I’ll save it for next time. Looking forward to your next episode!

Not “annoying” at all. You are clearly a very intelligent and well-versed person, with varied experiences and takes on the world-regardless of self-stated searching for vocabulary here and there-I studied Spanish for many many years and am Nowhere as conversationally comfortable with the language as you clearly are with English. That aside-your take on knitting is lovely to watch, your home is inviting as a backdrop for the conversation, and who cares if we like the same colors-I cannot tell you how many times I come home with a barely different shade of a “Wow! Just right” color of lipstick or eye shadow….that I already have nearly 4 versions of at home 😂😂. We all do it-and if it gives You joy to make and wear it-I say So what-no one else is making it for you. And your versions of neons with neutrals will give you plenty to spice up your wardrobe besides. :) happy knitting, thanks for sharing😊

Thank you so much for your enjoyable podcasts. I love your thoughts on comparison. There is an expression attributed to Theodore Roosevelt that "Comparison is the thief of joy." It is in our nature to compare, and yet it doesnt serve us. I started a RU-vid channel in the pandemic when the Local Yarn Store I taught classes at had to shut for a period of time. As a high school Math teacher, i had learned how to do videos for my students so i uploaded a few tutorials to my channel. I really didnt think much about it. I didnt pay much attention to who was watching and how many people were watching. Then in January this year I finally started doing some personal weekly videos of what i was knitting which is something i had wanted to do for over a decade. Very quickly I went from enjoying it to starting to compare myself to other channels - number of views, comments etc. And critiquing myself in a negative and non-helpful way. I realised that this was robbing me of the joy that I had in making it and connecting with others - no matter how many were watching. It is a good lesson in learning about myself and being grateful for what I have, not envious of what others have. This isnt something i normally feel or struggle with. It was an odd feeling for me. I guess we are all susceptible to these kinds of emotions, given certain circumstances. Anyway, i have thoroughly enjoyed your videos, partly for the knitting content, but mostly for your reflections. Thank you for taking the time to make them. I will be watching your other videos as well. I am sure i will find them interesting. :)

Ok so I’ve doubted that I would ever knit, but you have inspired me in other ways so I thought let me watch and see. This video touches me so much because it reminds me of my precious grandmother who used to beg me often as a child to allow her to teach me how to knit and crochet. Her dream was for us to sit in tandem in stillness and enjoy knitting and being together. My response as the first born grandchild was NO Grandma I want to run and play and jump and climb trees with the boys…the tomboy who would rather ride her skateboard or cross bike instead of sitting and knitting (didn’t mean to rhyme there! Lol) though I loved my grandmother with my entire being.💜 She would be so surprised today to know that I just watched a 50 minute video on knitting. 😛 I’m not quite ready to jump right in and get started, but I’m certainly not ruling it out. I LOVE the colors you’ve chosen. This video makes me want to buy pretty yarn even if I never knit with it. 😂 So thanks for at least that much inspiration. 🥰 Seriously though, I do think the day will come that I knit at least one sweater just to make her proud and happy as she watches over me from afar. The sweaters are all great! I would purchase and wear any of them. Lovely! Well done dear Helle! Continue to enjoy yourself! 💜🇺🇸🇩🇰

For past year i try to make my wardrobe more neutral, but seeing this pink on you, I started to think maybe I too can make neutral sweater with bright accent. 🌞 also, I am 43, i knit for more then 30 years, and back when I was teenager we didn't have many good knitting patterns and lessons, so we had to invent our own tricks to make knitting easier, and now looking at young knitting designers and tips they teach us, it is funny to realise this is all we did back than and didn't even thought about that 😄 Love your knitting videos, they bring peace and comfort and a lot of hygge to my knitting life. I am knitting Turtle Dove II by Espace Tricot - which was written for Drops Air. It’s a perfect knit to choose when you have just finished a challenging pattern and need a break. The first time I knit this pattern, I used CaMaRose Snefnug in grey. Because I wear it so much (it’s so light, yet warm) I decided to knit it again using the Drops Air. The yarns that are blown, like these two, do pill badly. However, my experience is that after you have washed them a couple of times, they stop pilling. Hope this helps! I’m so happy to have found your video. I’m really enjoying getting to know you. It sounds like our Canadian winters (I live near Algonquin Park in Ontario) are as long and cold as Danish ones!

Helle, your knits are absolutely gorgeous. I like your knit aesthetics, clean and fresh with texture and class. You are not babbling, on the contrary, and your tone and voice are calming. Keep up the good work. As for US yarns, you could have them ship to where you are staying on your upcoming trip to New York. This would save you all the international charges. Enjoy! Cheers from Montreal (where winter is hanging on for dear life!)

I’m so glad you’re better now, and that our comments cheered you while you were sick. Your videos are a delight. Yes, a place to connect and inspire and see what someone on the other side of the world is doing with her craft. It is a delight to see what you’ve finished and what you’re working on, and what will be coming next. Your sweater choices are wonderful. Very similar to sweaters I like, as well. Your Pink Velvet will be wonderful for spring. The soft pink Sarang is drop dead gorgeous! What an interesting construction to that sweater! The lavender and green knit up magically into a wonderfully soft color! I can’t wait to see your Seon Kimono. I love the soft colors you have chosen. If you choose the soft rose, just rejoice in another beautiful sweater in a color you love! I also dislike discouraging comments on my color choices. But I also try not to be swayed by other’s opinions. When your partner says, “Another gray sweater?”, just reply, “Yes! I’m so excited to have another in a color I love!” No guilt. We shouldn’t necessarily feel we need others to understand our choices. And as I mentioned in another comment on your previous video, we often gravitate to different colors at different times of life. You clearly have, and I have, too. I’m really loving neutrals these days. I say rejoice in your choices of color and feel no need to explain them to anyone! Because you are able to knit so many sweaters so quickly, it makes your videos really fun to see how much progress you’ve made and what your FOs look like and what will be coming to your needles next. Thank you for a little glimpse into Denmark and someone who enjoys knitting as much as I do!

I love that pop of pink on you, such a cheerful sweater. I'm down in Australia and we are in autumn here so it's excellent knitting weather. I have far too many WIPs and am trying to finish things off at the moment as I'm finding it's becoming quite stressful with so many things on the needles. Unfortunately I'm a process knitter so am always tempted by new techniques and challenges! Lovely podcast again, thank you.

Love your videos. I like the way you choose your patterns and yarn and analyse the reasons for picking them in such an informative way. I used to be in the knitting industry with Annabel Fox and had a 32 year break until I got back into it with the birth of my grandson. I have asked her if the pattern you can’t identify is one of hers. Ravelry, RU-vid and internet buying has revolutionised the way we can see what’s out there, as well as knitting top down, Magic Loop, circular knitting, etc! I have been doing some Stephen West and Natasja Hornsby designs and discovered sock knitting so definitely got my knitting mojo back.
