Welcome! My name is Helle, and on this channel I share aspects of my knitting life as well as bits about Denmark & aspects of my Danish life, including some of the things I love best, such as nature, literature, travel, my garden, as well as musings on life in general. My opinions and beliefs are (of course) based on where I am in life and what I have experienced. In no way do I want to appear like an expert on life but rather like someone who is on a journey of discovery. I would be honored if you would join me. It is my hope that you will be either enlightened, entertained or uplifted - in a small way.
If you could film you organizing your needles in the binder. I could benefit from something like this but am afraid it will get too bulky. Thanks. Love your style and vibe!!
Thank you for another beautiful episode. The aesthetic you have produced with both the knitting and the environment is fabulous!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your makes and your life with us ♥️
Thanks for the reminder to celebrate the moments. I find one of the blessings of getting older is the. gift of time so that the memorable moments get a chance to float to the top and have their turn in the sun. Love your deck.
Namaste, Helle and friends in the knitting community. Although my preferred projects are quite different from yours, hearing your thoughts and seeing your projects expands my horizons, and I greatly enjoy knitting along with your podcasts.
Your podcast is one of my most favorite. It is calming and very soothing. I appreciate that. Currently I am knitting 2 shawls for my Amish friends. I haven't seen them in a few years, and I feel that they would enjoy a nice big comfy shawl that they can wrap up in and maybe think of me while they are cozy. I lived with them many years ago and have enjoyed their friendship for many years. I am almost finished with a tee-shirt. I am knitting it for a friend at work. She is a new crocheter and I hope it tilts her to the knitting world. That leather binder is so pretty. My husband and I do some small leather projects. I wonder could I do something similar.....Seems so handy to have all your tools in one place. I'm in Tennessee, foothills of the Smoky Mountains and man is it hot. 90 + degrees. I am looking forward to fall. The mint green sweater with the V-neck is beautiful. I've never done a v-neck. It looks so elegant on you. Thanks for letting me hang out with you for an hour.
I’m a huge fan of your work! I always learn so much from you like dancing on a shifting carpet!! Every time I tune in I think, omg I’d love to be RL friends, but alas, I m in the States. If only my Great grandparents stayed in Denmark 🤔 Love your aesthetic!! So inspiring! I also have a channel so I get what you’re saying about people leaving. But I also say yes to authenticity. Come-go, it’s all good!! Namaste 🙏 ❤
Lovely podcast episode, beautiful sweaters. I'll be in Denmark this Summer, also visiting Odense. And looking forward to some yarn shopping over there.
I enjoy watching your episodes because you are so authentically you! Please continue to be just who you are and put out whatever content you feel like. I loved the quote at the beginning. I just suffered a sports-related injury that required surgery and a long recovery time, so I have been thinking a lot about expectations, disappointment, and cultivating gratitude for the silver lining that can usually be found in any disappointment.
What a wonderful video, as always. Thank you for sharing your journey. I am currently knitting a Papillon shawl for my mother, the Simple Tee by Churchmouse Yarns for myself, and a pair of socks, broken rib, for my daughter. I usually have a pair of socks or a hat, something small, that I knit on in the car or when going somewhere I need a small, simple project on which to work. Enjoy your summer and I look forward to hearing of your next adventures!!
Hi Helle, thank you for showing us that beautiful leather needle case, and also the beautiful silk yarn from Knitters World. Its such a treat to find out about high quality products. Beautiful cat too!
Hi Helle! I am so sorry it has taken me so long to watch this - I had a fairly significant surgery ten days ago and haven't been on RU-vid at all since then (I'm fine, just healing in bed and not on my computer). This is the first day I've logged in, and I was thrilled to see there was a new video from you I could watch ❤️ I hope you didn't think I'd suddenly abandoned you! 😂 I am tickled that you were able to get a Thread and Maple binder. I've thought about getting one, but they're quite the investment, and I don't know I'd use it enough to justify it. Enjoy it! You deserve it! I adore both of your FOs - they're beautiful! I'm going to have to look into that fluffy yarn. I would love to have another non-itchy option to use. I'm going to crawl back in bed now, but I hope you're having a wonderful summer so far. 🍹 Thank you for being such wonderful company while I knit!🧶
Dear Gwen, I am so sorry to hear you’ve had surgery, but good to know you’re recovering! ❤️🩹 I am so thankful to receive a comment from you and to have your presence here. It is greatly appreciated. Hope you’ll be up and about soon, knitting and enjoying the summer. Much love to you 🥰😎🌸
@@danishmusings Thank you so much 💖 It's been two weeks and I'm still kind of hobbling around, but I'm definitely better than I was a week ago. They said 4-6 weeks for recovery, but I'm hoping it doesn't take quite that long. 😏 Much love back to you! 🌷
That pale pink silk yarn is gorgeous. I had a look on the website site but it isn’t in English 🙁 The soft colours suit you so well. Thank you for a lovely podcast. Your knits always look fabulous.
Helle, i love your channel, and i wanted to agree with you about how enchanted yarn names are so tempting to knit with! I recently found a yarn from Purl Soho named Deep Ocean, and im obsessed. 😄
Your finished sweaters are lovely. The colours are ethereal looking. I took note of your "notes" on the pattern, and I do the same thing. I always have a printed pattern with check boxes and keep track of rows. I usually use a yellow sticky note on the pattern so that I don't mess it all up. LOL. Thanks for explaining the Crystal top. I really love it but I don't like doing bottom up at all. I did a cardigan and it turned out too long, but nothing I can do about it or want to do about it. Rosie
Hello Helle, I was so excited to see a new podcast out and it coincided with a quiet afternoon, paired with my knitting. Your Trellis sweater is so beautiful and I went immediately to Knitters World. Ordered 6 skeins of fluffy. Hoping that is enough for size medium as I found pattern yarn amounts a bit confusing. As an aside, your roses and peonies are magnificent 💕🌸 Gillian in Canada 🇨🇦

Good morning, Helle. I absolutely love your content, especially the quotes. “Awe”….Yes. There are so many opportunities to witness the beauty of “awe” if one is present, right. For those who did not resonate with your content I suspect they’re not ready: not sitting in presence maybe. I hope some gem you’d shared previously will resonate with them at some point. In any case, I delight in learning something new. I find your podcast very well rounded. Thank you ❤ Tonya. Oh. I could completely see the scene of the young boy running and being encouraged by the girls. Great story. Love the knitting and the Fluffy yarn. ❤
