It actually makes sense that she did not cry when seeing her children, she never saw them, so seeing them for the first time kind of makes them feel like strangers. She needs to get used to them.
Vegan Jack Bauer I’m one year away from the comment but it makes sense, same thing when you see someone online, no matter how much do you love them, you wouldn’t actually cry, it’ll look like a happy welcom instead
I’ve seen 2 guys who have tried to explain their own experience with seeing for the first time with the help of these glasses. It’s like their brain is still trying to get used to receiving a full visual stimuli after years of receiving little stimuli. It’s almost like when you’re in the dark and somebody switches the light on all of a sudden and you involuntarily squint because it’s too much for your eyes to take. At this moment, her brain is receiving “too much” stimuli and is still figuring out how to make sense of the new sensory information. In truth nobody could possibly understand what this feels like internally unless you had experienced blindness yourself. The 2 guys I’ve mentioned even struggled to find the exact words to describe what was taking place inside them. I expect with time, they will be able to adapt to this new way of seeing.
Actually when I first saw someone clearly that I fell in love with online, I was blown away with how beautiful he was in person. And he wasn't even especially attractive. I just loved him so he looked amazing to me
I've been through a lot in my life and what I've learned is at some point you just feel nothing inside and it's not something you can switch on or off..... I know I will never ever get these back, I just have to live with the emptiness. Maybe it's what has happened to her.
@@jaynestagg9460 Exactly right! It’s sad that folks who haven’t had the same experience don’t understand and, worse yet, render a cold & oftentimes heartless judgement. WISDOM TELLS us that it’s the little things that matter the. Most to Almighty God. When it’s time to go through our Life Review, it’s the kindness and the mercy we showed to someone who was suffering that pleases Him the most. Those gestures done in secret. That’s what restores the downtrodden and gives strength to the weak. Be blessed. Amen
@@jaynestagg9460 I suggest you read Gabor Mate's book The Myth of Normal. You don't have to live a flat existence forever. This book would just be a starter to give you ideas about seeking help. Still hard to find, but its out there. I have been to hell and back many times. My life has especially been like a Stephen King novel the last 12 years. But I feel my emotions, I have normal happy days sometimes, and I am not on any prescriptions, recreational drugs, alcohol or any other kind of crutch. It is possible to live and experience life without being shut down. And not go crazy either. Wishing you lots of luck and at least some happiness eventually.
my mom really needs this my mom is diagnosed with retinitis pegmentosa and it gradually took her eyesight since the early 1990's now my mom can only see movements and very bright colors pls like so my mom would probably become a candidate we live in the philippines baguio city luzon # 4 pacdal ambuclao
Amazing how technology has evolved so far, that it can make blind people see, and deaf people hear. Bless this family and the ones that worked hard to pay for the glasses, especially her brother who didn't pamper her. Well done!
I see so many dumb people in the comment section. Let's talk about all of the catigories I've seen by now: At first, I noticed that many people are calling her emontionless or heartless because, as we can see, she didn't cry. Just because someone doesn't cry, doesn't mean that they are unhappy. Just because someone doesn't break down in tears, doesn't mean that they don't care. "BuT uNiCoRn TheY aRe HeR fAmiLY" So? Sometimes, people have so many emotions, they actually mix. They become one big emotion, which they can't express simply by words or face expressions. Sometimes people cannot show their happiness due to all that. As we can all clearly hear, she said that..it felt like a dream to her. Also there is a theory that, because she hasn't seen anything or anyone for 30 whole years(I didn't even exist for so long) she's just not adjusted to it. She doesn't see them mostly as family..but someone new, someone she just saw and met. I stick with the first theory, though. Secondly, we can see, that people keep commenting about her ^EyEbRoWs^ Holy shit?! This person is BLIND. How are they supposed to know how their eyebrows look?! Not only that, but she has them like that so she can feel them! If you were to be blind, for 30 or more years, your looks, would be the least to care. I believe, you wouldn't like it to be judged based off your looks, just because you have a disability. Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about some people that write about the kid being on a "dog leash". Firstly and most importantly, that's NOT a dog leash! As we all can see, that youngster is not the most quiet and silent one. His sisters help his mom, so they cannot help their brother. That doesn't hurt him, in any possible way! It just keeps him close to them, with their mom feeling safe, and him having fun trying to run away from that leash. It's for safety purposes! He is young and active,if it weren't for that leash, who knows what hole he could have gotten himself into! I believe, the only heartless people here, are you all my dear commenters.
... It looks like those eyebrows are just tattooed, so how can she feel them? I agree with most of your points, however some of them are just a tad silly.
They are tattooed eyebrows. She can’t “feel” them. And she has a family to tell her how they look. She could just get them waxed / threaded like everyone else.
ALHAMDULILLAH, ALLAH has given me such a wonderful gift of capability of seeing everything . I m grateful to my LORD after watching it. becoz we always complain about what we don't have, but hardly bing grateful to the LORD for what we have.
As Heather described to her children, she has actually been seeing them whole time. Her brain has constructed the reality in which she sees, she has been able to construct the images of her family, of trees of her home, in her mind. Putting those glasses on and seeing her children for the 'first time' took her a moment to catch up with HOW reality actually looks like - as she has been seeing her children faces in her own reality for a very long time. Giving her the gift of sight has just made her now see the PHYSICAL selves, she has seen and known her children and her mother her whole life.
from 15:50 she's wearing the glasses. I think this woman is incredible, with everything she still does, especially for her children. Amazing. So much respect.
Nóri MH You have to understand that she doesn't know how her children are suppossed to look like. She had just been looking at blobs her entire life so her brain can process all the information all the different colours, the contrast and in-depthness of things. She is just overwhelmed by everything. But once she realizes the what she is seeing is real, trust me she is going to cry nothing before and thank god.
I had needed glasses for years, and could never see things much, but when I put them on I was shocked, there was so much detail to things I’d never seen before, so I can’t imagine how chocked this woman must feel.
Deanna Gonzales I think people believe it was a negative comment I made. I meant that it gives her a landmark on her face that she can feel easily and makes her face sensorily different and more hers.
I have a huge lump in my throat. That is so lovely. And they'll probably make them even better. I thought she was going to cry when she saw her daughters. Can't wait until she sees the little boy. He's so gorgeous.
Diagnosed with closed angle glaucoma 1975. 46 years later, 17 surgeries, no perifrial vision, scar tissue central causes blindspots.every moment of my day i give thanks for little sight I have. I hope to see my grandkids born, within next two years .I get her. She'll be surprised. Best wishes. 3cheers from Atlantic Canada 🇨🇦
This is very encouraging...it teaches as to appreciate how we are there are people out there who wish they could have things that we don't pay attention to or appreciate
sometimes persons like her take a while to process. she might cry a week from now maybe never, her sense of sight is dead so her hearing and sense of touch might have been strengthened. i understand totally
As much as I am so happy for her that she has her sight back, I'm incredibly proud of her family for being there for her. Her girls and mother are heroes to be able to be there for her. Especially the girls who would have sacrificed a lot for their mother. They are great kids.
I feel like this is an ad because a) She didn't cry b) The glasses are called eSight and guess what the channel is called -_- c) She wasn't that excited to try them on d) Everyone was just kinda acting a little shady and tense
I am also not blind but i have something thats makes me “not seeing the same as others” atleast that is what my optimist says. So idk really what the world actually looks like
CastleShadows Plays And More! If a person is inborn with blind they don't dream. But if a person is born who can see but gets blind example around of 6 yrs old they can dream. Sorry for my english! 😀
They do dream since when u dream its not a tv infront of ur closed eyes it's thoughts and thinks that r in ur brain that u can see and feel it's in the outerworld
If your were born blind then they have dreams with sound and smell and if you went blind they you can still see things in dreams but only what you remember
CastleShadows Plays And More! I think that when we see, they experience. They dream about their own world we'll never be able to feel. Not that I wouldn't be thankful about my healthy eyes, I am. The world of the blinds just must be full of different experiments more than ours and it would be interesting to explore.
She's a very strong woman.she's done all her crying her whole life.she is a great parent who knows the value of little things we take for granted as parents.she is living in the moment.n absorbing all of the positivity around her.she's utterly grateful n has no time for tears.give her some credit.she is a survivor. She cried so much in the video itself.stop judging ppl who've had a real struggle in their life.what's your struggle?
She is just more formal in front of strangers. She kept staring at her girls and called them beautiful. She didn't discard them. Once the cameras and strangers are gone I am sure the tears and hugs will be numerous. She is obviously a good mom.
If I found out I had that, I would make sure I was allowed, and bring all of my friends and family so close and study their amazing faces. I'd make my dad drive me to Scunthorpe to go see Alex for the first time in two years and memorize her.
This was so great. I am so happy for her. She have tree beautiful children she saw for the first time. This was GREAT. And that the glasses or whatever they calls it is her to take home. Love this video.
Wonderful video and what a very articulate, calm lady Heather is. This year I had both my cataracts done which gave me the sight back that I had as a young man, that has no comparison though with Heathers story, she seems such a good mum. I am so pleased for her.
This can happen when your brain does not know how to deal with the situation. Also she has learned to be tough throughout life, it may take a while for emotions to pass through.
In class, I’m actually having trouble seeing the board and the tv. When I copy of my friends they tell me to get glasses, so I try on their glasses and my eyes just hurt and the sight is more worse. My parents don’t believe that I’m struggling with sight so they just blame my ipad.
OMG SAME ALL MY CLASSMATES SAID TO GET GLASSES BUT MY TEACHER DIDNT NOTICE IM COPYING THE WRITING'S ON THE BOARD AND my parents BLAME My Phone and tablet
To All the people who disliked, You are all monsters. This woman is seeing her children for the first time. She is brave and very inspireing. Please change your dislike to a like. Yours Faithfully Krystal.
Wow!!I am so Happy for this lady and her family!! This is wonderful!!🤗❤XXX She is so very overwhelmed with this, anyone Who's disappointed that she didn't break down into tears,Shame on you!!I read those comments,I am shocked by the callous nature of them!!Shameful.
Indera Atma W. Correction: She can see, but her sight is very blurry. (Legally blind) Why are people hating her? Did you want to see her cry with the device on her head? They would break. You’re welcome. Next time, check your grammar. If you are foreign, then I get it, it’s fine, ignore me.
@@nataliemycka3062 are you dumb or something you're correcting grammar in comment section , everyone does not has English as a first language , you don't have to act like a teacher .
Blind? She looks on the detail of the glasses, look in the eyes of the doctor and looks on the details of the controller before she put on the goggle. She is not blind. How is it to see you daughters the first time he asked? She said: they are so grown up. That is not the response of a mother who see her children for the first time!!!!
She can know were are the objects are by producing sound or if that object produce sound ... I meet some blind people .. I really wish them an easier life Edit : idk about the mother with the children .. Lol
she is so used to hearing and smelling she knows if a docter looks at her or says something although it does still kind of look fake as she is looking at specific details on people
