This reality weighs in the back of people's minds in the same way that blacks may look at whites with preconceived notions that have no basis regarding the person standing in front of you. This concern can lead to people being overly accommodating to others whose actions really aren't deserving of the accommodation. Or instances such as this Starbucks episode where two blacks guys that were realistically being assholes played the black privilege card. Had it happened to two white men nobody would have cared, which can easily be proven by the fact that it has happened to dozens of white men who were loitering in Starbucks and asked to leave over the years. It is the same psychological mechanism, privilege and racism. Both concepts are highly disruptive to our society...

First of all, employees don't pay for any expenses in a commercial establishment idiot. Secondly, the customers do pay, where the hell do you think the money comes from to pay the bills? In higher population areas, typically with a larger transient community, it is common practice. Often homeless will sit in Starbucks all day and not purchase anything while using resources (seating, wifi, restrooms).
