Original video description:
Grade 6 ADI Trainer, Ged Wilmot, gives a demonstration of how to conduct a Part 3, Phase 2 session on Approaching Junctions to Turn Left & Right. Claire Wilmot portrays the learner driver. Traditional instruction is predominantly used throughout, which is currently the preferred style for the Part 3 examination. More 'pure' coaching videos will be made available at a later date for ADI's wishing to provide a more natural, client-centred style of learning.

@killaoflimmus - Yes, great point. If you listen carefully to the responses given by the pupil though... On the first occasion, the instructor asks, 'how did you know he was letting you go?' and the reply is, 'he looked at me, pointed his finger and flashed his lights' - if the answer had merely been, 'he flashed his lights', then a discussion would certainly have followed about how flashing should be interpreted. But it's evident that the pupil understood the importance of eye contact.

@killaoflimmus - On the second occasion, the pupil says, 'he's flashing me'. The instructor responds, 'is he definitely flashing you?'. 'Yes, there's nobody else he could be flashing... she slowed down as well'. The instructor then mentions the pedestrians who had been waiting on the opposite corner, too, as they could have interpreted the signal. On both occasions, it's evident that the pupil understands what other 'signals' to look out for (other than the flashing of headlights) :-)

I like the video matey, but I would have dealt with the other cars flashing etc, cos you warned her about her hands but never followed up about unnecessary signals. She said that two people hand flashed her out...... How do you know that signal is for you. I know this is not a signals lesson, BUT...... if you are doing turning left/right and you are approaching to turn right and someone flashes, do you know it's deffo for you? I would have had a quick chat about it but not got off topic. ;)

@GedWilmot Fair comment, just round here there are so many idiots and (Asian) taxi drivers and the road knowledge of some people is so poor I would have made a point of addressing it after first occasion. Like the videos though, where are you? Lancashire?
