I’m sorry. This comment will probably be deleted but them two don’t deserve to have children. YOU decided to adopt these children which makes you responsible for their wellbeing, behaviour etc. If these children were born with issues due to the biological mother being addicted to drugs or alcohol & the children have behavioural, mental or physical issues due to that, that’s NOT THIER fault. But it is/was YOUR responsibility to raise these children, show them love, kindness teach them manners & respect but YOU failed & YOU discarded these children like they were trash because they didn’t live up to your expectations. You both should be ashamed of yourselves. Thank god for Ms Powers for taking these boys in & showing them love & kindness. Please don’t adopt anymore children & I hope no adoption service would ever let you adopt again

those boys sound very aggressive and violent. That why people need to be very careful when adopting a child. I won't adopt because I don't know the child back ground and I be to scare that the child will turn on me and my family. They adopted the child at age 3 and had them for 13 years! Absolutely disgusting that they talk about this child like he's not even their child, much less their responsibility. I could understand this sentiment if you were taking a 17 year old foster child in and they were having behavioral issues, but this is crazy. My niece is adopted from the foster system and she moved in with them at age 3. She is my niece and my brother's child now, full stop. She had a very rough first three years, her biological dad was in prison for killing a cop, and her mom was/is a drug addict. No doubt she took significantly more parenting work than some other children, but she's a teenager who's doing wonderfully now because my brother and sister tried to give her everything she needed. They treated this child as an inconvenient paycheck. Disgusting.

@@iloveschicken6527 agreed. But change the focus of that sentence... The kids would probably never be adopted if it weren't for the money. It's not an ideal system, but families that want to help kids but may need financial support are more likely to help kids who need a home if the edges of the financial side of it are smoothed out. There are a lot of kids in homes because of these stimulus packages. This is just a shit version of how that plays out.
@iloveschicken6527
@iloveschicken6527 22 дня назад
@michaelcritter7933 I understand to an extent but.. These folks owned their own business and had a good income! If they wanted to adopt to save 2 children... You move into a smaller home, cut unnecessary expenses.. whatever! When you adopt, you take 100 percent accountability and responsibility for that child as if you gave birth to them! I need more info on this story. Did they adopt them to save them or were they looking to add more joy to their family? There's a difference! Did they know these boys? Doesn't sound like it. Sounds like they sought to adopt. If you seek to adopt, make sure you can financially and mentally take on that responsibility! If you are adopting to save a child that you know is in trouble is a whole other ball game! It's very obvious that when you adopt or foster in cases like this, there's probably going to be some trama issues with these kids! That's why they are in the system to begin with. They didn't adopt these boys from birth. But I see what you are saying as well.

Their business earned money, there’s a reason they didn’t turn in their actual income tax and he made profit/loss statements. Not only that, he added his personal expenses into his business expenses to make it seem they aren’t making that much from the business. If they are selling over $350,000 a year, they have to have a higher profit margin that that! Even 20% profit would be significant! I’m sure they are making 30% profit or more!

These adoptive ‘parents’ are clearly abusers themselves; no one describes the way their children act as ‘abusive’. That’s a term that invokes a dynamic of power (and of course parents hold really significant power over their kids) and they would only see a child as having power over them if there was a monetary consequence related to their presence, which there is in this case. This judge is amazingly lenient towards these obviously suspect people, I realize his prerogative is to get control of the finances here but they’re making their boys out to be monsters when the reality is that they are exploitative failures as parents

The reason any State is willing to make child support payments for ADOPTED hard to place special needs kids is because they know the potential burdens adoptive parent(s) will take on. Guess what else is available? In home behavioral health support plans and help. Once I heard they had this kid since 3, I almost flipped a lid. "Mom" demonstrated she is a victim in a very narcissistic/Karen sense. Zero empathy for Kadin. Even if Kadin was a handful- all they had to do was ask the State for help through the years- even for therapeutic placement when needed. And, as adults get into therapy themselves. And, as for their own daughters- sorry: 16 is a very normal time to get a job for extra things, or to put gas in your beater car. Extremely normal in fact.

💯The fact you're a crappy business person doesn't take priority over supporting children! They keep trying to use business results as a reason why they can't afford to take care of their children. Maybe a forensic accountant is needed to double check the business and personal records... As another commenter mentioned, not keeping a clear separation between personal and business could be a way to obfuscate taxable income.

Your adopted kids are YOUR kids. I don’t know the day-to-day issues of this family with regard to their son, but if they refer to their biological children as “their own children” I assume they probably didn’t make the son who ran away feel like “their own.” He probably felt unwanted and that is why he acted out. …he is a special needs child, who became a special needs teen. What did the parents do assist with his special needs? I feel like living with these parents was too overwhelming for the sons who ran away.

Soooooo, let me get this straight; they adopted him at THREE, and he’s now SIXTEEN, and he’s “out of control”, and these “parents” take absolutely NO RESPONSIBILITY, for failing this child. Clearly they didn’t raise him right. I feel bad for the CIQ. They’re mixing expenses, and writing off their mortgage by saying that’s where the business is, their vehicles get paid by the business, and written off for an expense, all their power/utilities are written off. They get that back at the EOY. They’re raking in money and I feel like that’s all they wanted was the $900. They failed him, and this family took him in, and are helping him through life. God Bless that family, and shame on the adoptive family. It’s crazy that child support is going to be set at $50-$100? That’s crazy! The “mother” w her fake crying and whining was a comical. They’re horrible parents and crying about their failure. Boo hoo. That boy was never wanted, just listening to them you can tell, it was ALL ABOUT MONEY!!!

Sounds like they only adopted to get an income from the state. Doesn't sound like they even tried to show any kind of love or compassion to the adopted children. My brother and his wife adopted 2 boys (both brothers) who are special needs at the ages of 10 and 7 and they are now 43 and 41....there were challenges over the first few years but they were never kicked out because of it we just worked through them. One of them is crazy about Legos, audiobooks, collecting pennies. playing video games and writing random information down in his many notebooks. The other one loves reading any book he can get his hands on, anything Star Wars or shark related, telling jokes (some good some not but we laugh anyway) and playing video games. They are awesome human beings because they got the love and support they needed to have a fair chance in this world they live in. My nephews are wonderful men today and can not imagine our family without them in it.
