@@andrewvelonis5940 They also are in the series and in the original comic. But in all incarnations, espacially the much darker original comic strips, they tend to have inversed values in some ways. Using "horrible monster" as a compliment is completely in character.
These episodes were great and it really sucks that Melissa was forced to stop doing them. I have all of them downloaded and archived, but I'm glad that they're still available for others to watch.
@@nicolecontreras8311 honestly i couldn't agree more !, they even copied certain things like : we're all destined to die alone..., and as the show goes on, all what's left of wednesday is her introversion...
It sucks that they took down the episodes from Melissa Hunter RU-vid page for copyright reasons and now she's trying to fight it so that way she can post more. So unfair I really enjoyed the series.
I have a SOLUTION: all she has to do is drop the "Addams." Just have her character be without a surname. Everyone knows she's Wednesday. Just call the show Adult Wednesday, and maybe give her a different colored outfit, like dark blue or dark purple or something. THEN, claim this as a parody and don't make money from it.
Then go a step further and don't call her character Wednesday Addams at all. We know who she is. Maybe alter her costume to be dark blue or dark purple, and call the show The Ghoul Next Door. Stupid name, I know, but under all those circumstances, she could still claim parody and get paid. OR, she could just meet with Paramount or whoever owns The Addams Family and strike a deal.
Or, OR... (always thinking here), do some type of vlog show on the side for which she CAN be paid, talk about movies or pop culture or food or shit, and then use that money to fund AWA and live on.
I wonder what kind of monster she has in that purse. Or maybe the purse IS the monster, like a mimic or something. It would fit Wednesday to have a pet mimic.
I would like to note that she didn't say "not any more" implying that she didn't kill it, and is either A, going to send whatever it is back home, or B, is planning on letting some strange creature run wild in the street after this interview.
This creative woman works hard and does an amazing job with this series. I hope she'll be able to keep going. She needs her own 30 minutes series on NBC or CBS every week on Wednesdays!!!
this would be even better if it was Christina Ricci playing wednesday just so we could be nostalgic about it. but the girl who plays is killing it too. :)
@@TheRabidWolverine there is no a live action movie in the work. This month the animated movie will be released, but this do not have Christina Ricci in any form.
Oh my.... I don't want to complain about the acting, it is quite good, but every time Wednesday gives a death glare my mind wanders to Christina Riccis forced smile.
Yeah that's the only thing that would bother me... everything else she said is OK but I don't care if it's a 50lb tarantula... if it's your pet, don't beat it up in my presence or you can find another apartment to carry out your rituals in :(
When I was a kid, a had a fight with my parents. I said that I’m moving in with the Addams family. Mum clicked hers fingers twice and said of ya go then! Wish I could have lived with them!
Wednesday has always been my favorite Addams Family member. I was afraid to watch this for fear of them damaging the character. I'm glad I did. Amazing work!
New Wednesday out there. Jennifer Ortega nailed it. You're sill my favorite and I bet any amount of money she studied all your short films for reference. Your Adult Wednesday Adams is still the cream of the crop.
I love how the blonde girl with the blue/purple hat is the only sane one there or at least the only one paying attention to all the weird things about wednesday.
You almost have your wish, Tim Burton is doing a version of it soon, doubt it will be as good as Melissa's version ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G4QHrAcZalc.html
being a senior adult and bored due to the pandemic turn to to RU-vid for a bit of entertainment and found these clips ,its a shame the series was canceled. Loved every one of them
it wasn't canceled, the woman who was making them on her own dime got taken down with a DMCA complaint and couldn't afford to fight it legally: carterlawaz.com/what-happened-to-adult-wednesday-addams/
Damn... The absolute BEST and FUNNIEST thing I have seen on RU-vid since some dementia patient fell UP the steps... 3 times... The actress portrays the character frighteningly perfect and authentic... The dialogue is truly witty, fun, and perversely hysterical delivered brilliantly by all the cast members, especially Miss 'Mercredi'! Thank you all for the smiles and belly laughs to commence my day with! I SOOOOO look forward to more comedic perfection! - Sean
Haven't seen these in a while. I said it before I'll say it again. The tv executives are fools for not making a Wednesday Addams tv show. This gal nails it
I'M FIFTY NINE AND JUST FOUND THIS, WOW!!! I GREW UP ON THE ADAMS FAMILY. I LOVE THIS VERSION. THE YOUNG LADY PLAYING HER IS ON POINT!! JUST SUBSCRIBED!!!😄
I like "Adult Wednesday Addams" a lot! It presents a whole new twist on the ol' Addams Family T.V. show from the 1960s, by putting Wednesday Addams into adult situations typical of everyday life, in a humorous way reminiscent of the T.V. show way back when it aired. Nicely Done!
I loved this series so freaking much when it came out, and when the new Netflix show came out, I was really hoping for it to lean into this side of Wednesday like this series did. Must say I was disappointed...
They had every right to threaten a lawsuit. She was profited off of a character she didn't own. You cant just steal other people idea and slap your name on it
@@randomkelly9615 oh I agree with you 100% but I don't think she did it to be vicious or any ill will so to speak. Yes she should have gone through the proper channels to produce this but it cannot be denied that what she did was absolutely amazing, hilarious and well written.
I fear a time when such places as You Tube are used by corporations as a farm. Where the ripe artist is plucked off the tree. The artist is offered a "deal" where they can either take the money in trade for all artistic freedom or they can stop working publicly. Corporations oftentimes find ways to manipulate the small guy. What's the name of that "not You tube" YOu Tbube?
I haven’t watched any of these because I’m certain that Wednesday would have grown up to be every bit the vampy, seductive woman her mother was. She would have ditched the braids and school marm collar long ago.
Hey, im a long time fan, I LOVE this fan made series, its my favorite take on Wednesday....So when I saw Netflix is dropping 'Wednesday' I was excited and hoping that you were involved in some way Saddened to see the new Netflix trailer honestly. I had to come here and tell you kudos you did a better job creating this version of adult Wednesday then Tim Burton 👏👏👏
The book in the lower-right corner at the beginning is Robert Coover's postmodern short-story collection "A Child Again." The set designer has superb literary taste.
Carolyn Jones is my favorite Morticia. Your rendition of Wednesday reminds me of Carolyn Jones. In a way, that you are Morticia's daughter. Great Job Melissa.
this is go good. for some reason i thought to myself, "wouldnt it be cool to have a short series with a grown up wednesday adams" lo and behold you already did it :P
The beautiful thing about the Addams is that they are actually very lovely people. Look how Morticia treats her plants. The way this impersonator of Wednesday treated her pet is totally against character.
First I was sad because I thought this was gonna be an Untrue sitcom you Wednesday would act all weird and not herself but after watching this I am so happy about this =D
Absolutely love every episode, I laughed till my side split and once i had returned from surgery I watched all over again. Your writing is hillarious and the entertainment value insurmountable. Thank you Melissa xx
