The Columbus Day Regatta is one of Miami's most craziest days out on the water. Typically boats would tie up together and it was a giant party on the water. Mix in alcohol, young people and lots of friendly boaters what could go wrong ?
Around 2015 Law enforcement and Coast Guard stopped letting boats tie up at the sandbar and since then the Regatta has not been the same. Regrettably this event has caused injuries in the past due to a few irresponsible boaters.
