Brief review and comparison of pneumatic air impact guns. Snap on MG725 800ft. Lbs., Ingersoll Rand 2135QTI 700 ft lbs. , IR 21115 TIMax, Chicago Pneumatic Cp 734, Nesco impact wrench.
Snap-On Pros - more torque, magnesium case, better design, oil seal lubricated
IR Pros - Quieter, half the cost

I got the 2235. It works wonders. An older mechanic recommended me Ingersoll Rand and now I'm a Ingersoll guy.

The composite body on the IR's is not a concern I have 3 of them one is over 15 years old and has been abused every day in a heavy diesel shop no issues. Once a year I take it apart clean everything and sand the vains I'm ashamed to say it never gets air tool oil between cleanings lol. Anyways I have been in the industry for over 15 years and I can tell you that IR makes a top notch impact.

Love tool reviews like this he gives you his honest opinion on what he has and is not trying to force a in particular brand down your throat by saying it's the best on the market the others are inferior simply because of a name.

Larson what do you recommend for couplers? I'm relatively new air tools as I've always been cordless guy. But I'm building my garage from the ground up with a great air system. It seems 1/4" plugs and couplers seems to be the go to, but it doesn't make sense since my hose is 3/8" The tools I have for it so far are the Ingersoll Rand 2235QTiMAX and the Ingersoll Rand 109XPA 3/8-Inch Air Ratchet. I'll be using the air system mostly for hobbist servicing of the family cars, odd jobs around the house and building a project car, but just basic bolt on bolt off stuff. I have a decent 2hp 26 gallon air compressor that flow 4.2CFM at 90psi by Mastercraft and a 50 foot 3/8 hose from Campbell Hausfeld. So far I've just been using cheap 1/4" couplers and plugs and I'm wondering if this is causing a significant bottleneck in my system. Should I be using 3/8" couplers and plugs or is the 1/4" fine.

Cool! Most people run 1/4" because they are common and cheap. Only if you're using the air tools every day and multiple lines would you need 3/8 couplers.

Hi Sir.. Very informative video. I would like to request your suggestion to reduce the noise(decibels). Any product or any silencer/muffler attachment suggestion?. Thanks in advance

Are you using your makita compressor for there impacts? Im seriously considering getting the makita compressor you have, but i wasnt sure if it could deliver the cfms needed for impact guns. I would love a compressor powerfull enough for light mechanics tasks, and portable enough to get into the house for finishing nailers.

Yes, that compressor is running these guns in the video, and it has plenty of cfm for impact guns. I can buzz off the lug nuts on every wheel of a car without having to wait for pressure to get back up above say 90 psi.

I am thinking of buying a pneumatic wrench and in a heartbeat it is the Snap On models that came to mind probably because of the brand name but my concern is that there are so many people that want to sell them on different internet markets be it new or used and this is what really gives me a great concern that if these wrenches are really performing excellently well the owners will not want to sell them at this alarming rate.I will appreciate somebody that knows well about these tools to shed light on this issue for me .Thanks, I look forward to a response.

The snap on air gun is really good but honestly that 100lb ft drop off when you have the muffler is worth it because tbf it’s really really loud 😂
