Jamie Reyes don’t think it had to do with money, I personally think he wasn’t comfortable playing under matheney, a former teammate of his. He liked the idea of playing under a legendary manager like Scioscia and getting to retire in LA..

Was at the game last night and can confirm a lot of people cried including myself. This was more than just a game. This was history, magic, love, and respect. Albert Pujols will always be a member of the St. Louis Cardinals in my book. And he’s one of the best to ever play the game. Tip your caps ladies and gentlemen, that’s a hall of famer right there.

Shout Out to StLouis. The way Albert was treated the whole series was epic. As much as I (respectfully) hated this guy in the NL, and now, the AL as an Astros fan....Albert deserved every bit of it. It was a pleasure watching that guy do it the way he did it

See the difference with other standing ovations is that this one took years and that is I am glad yadi stood out there so that the fans could cheer him on. Great sportsmanship and great fans. (I am not a st Louis cardinals fan)

Utley hit a huge home run in his first series back and got such an ovation that the manager of the Phillies at the time blasted the fans in the media......Also remember Pujols is arguably the best player in Cardinals history not to dicount Stan The Man thats for Cardinal fans to argue over not to mention Pujols is overall a good dude. I'm a Phillies fan and would stand and cheer for Pujols I like him and he is a pretty good player.

Dreamingbig you think Pujols was annoyed? You can go listen to his interviews. He has said this whole experience is one of the best of his career. He loves stl. Every interview he calls them the best fans in baseball. He is grateful every interview. I dont think you realize how much he meant to stl and how much stl meant to him. And this only happened because he hasnt been to that stadium for 8 years. The last time he was there he won a world series. 3 games of multiple standing ovations isnt going to kill anybody. Everyone knows it is likely their last chance to give him a standing ovation. And with a different crowd every night, everyone wants to pay their respects.
