Alexander & Odin - Gilgamesh Island - Full Narrated Boss Guide - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth 

Reprisal is tied to a status effect. You might notice throughout the fight that pink shackles will appear on your characters. These are from taking hits, even perfect blocked ones. If a character with these shackles tries to use an offensive ATB skill on Odin, he will counter with Reprisal. You can get around this by using other characters' ATB to attack him, or by using super armor that you get from casting level 3 magic or Barret's Steelskin.

Youre telling me that after almost 4 hrs of dealing with that Odin mf, now i gotta fight him AND Alexander!!?? 😳

For me it was actually easier to ignore Odin, while destroying Alexander's arms. This prevented Zantetsuken being cast, and managed to do a lot of damage to Alexander, but didnt killed him. Then, I focused on Odin, he vanished and the I finished what was left of Alexander. Then the 1v1 with Odin was a breeze. The first couple of times I attempted this fight I thought, maybe this is not the time yet, I was also lvl 49, but I'm happy I managed to do it. Focused Thrust with Cloud and Unfettered Fury on Tifa for building pressure in Odin and Thundaga did the job on Alexander.

A big tip for this fight is summoning Phoenix as early as possible and casting Reraise on every party member which will revive through Zantetsuken, though you can interrupt it with synergy and limits I found out. Also using a character with magnify + barrier and casting manawall on the entire party will let you live through Alexander’s ult with max divine stacks (all characters were level 48 on normal.) Hope this helps someone, the fight was a lot easier after seeing the tips in this guide regarding how to pressure Odin and let me beat this fight relatively easily, not to mention having the insurance of free revives from a summon is nuts.

I know you beat it, but for anyone who hasn't and is still struggling. If you're using Yuffie, make sure to cast her lightning Ninjutsu and have her doppleganger out prior to Staggering Alexander, but if you can get it out before Odin Vanishes it's easier to make him vanish since ATB moves will prompt him to use Sleipnir's Furor (the move that pressures him) and Aerith relies more on her allies to get ATB charges now. Her Synergy Skill (Spellbound Blade) and her ATB ward are really good at getting her ATB. Using Yuffie's ninjutsu especially with haste casted on the party easily produces so much ATB for the party she becomes basically an ATB battery. and her Synergy skill with Aerith while standing in the ATB ward will get you basically 2 bars for them 2 and over 1 Bar for your 3rd person. Radiant Ward is cracked on this fight as once you put it down you can spam any Aga or long casting spell on Alex or odin and they can't do anything about it.

Great advice! If you are doing an itemless run like I was, lifesaver + chakra on Barret was very useful to not run out of mp.

Some stuff that helped me in this fight. - Odin's most commonly used abilities are blockable, physical attacks. Cloud is great at dealing with it with his Punisher Mode counter-attack. It hits hard enough to keep Odin happy so he doesn't get bored and one-shot the party 😂 Cloud can also do pot shots with his fancy, ranged attack. Or team up with Red/Barret for ranged synergy skill attacks, if they are in the party. - Always be running left or right when dodging Odin' ranged abilities - Alexander has 3 abilities that Cloud can handle with his synergy skill, Counterfire. The 3 attacks are: -- Earth Tremor -- Wave Cannon; and -- Tracking Beam. Wave Cannon and Tracking Beam are pretty slow so countering those are quite simple. Earth Tremor is a little trickier to deal with but if you use Alexander's visual cue (his hands going up), then wait a bit, then use Counterfire, when he pounds the ground, Counterfire has enough active frames (which also leaves Cloud vulnerable to other stuff) to catch the shockwave. - Build all 3 character's Limit Break to at least level 2 ASAP. They're great for doing stagger damage. Best to use it when enemies are pressured for better stagger output but using it raw is not a big deal - it still fills the stagger bar a bunch. - Always have regen up and running at all times. - Always keep the reviver at full health when Odin vanishes as Alexander will eventually use Divine Judgement. The reviver needs to be able to tank the damage. Also have whoever has Esuna start building ATB to help keep the reviver alive. - When Alexander is about to judge the party, have the reviver build up ATB, ready to revive fallen teammates. - When Odin comes back, you will want a character to distract Odin as a target for his Temporal Imprisonment - preferrably not your reviver character. - Don't be stingy with items (easy/normal/dynamic difficulty). The items are there to help you. Stop hoarding those Potions and Ethers lol Also remember other items like Celeris (instead of casting haste) to conserve MP. Remember, if you have a bunch of potions, they are a good substitute for healing/chakra materia.

After taking a week long break from dying countless times on this fight I did it first try today. Trick is to unload on Odin as much as you can without getting hit ignore Alexander till then. Once he’s vanished kill off Alexander do NOT let him survive and make sure to use mist giga potion when he’s pressured before he uses divine judgement. The thing about Reprise is that once any of your party members gets hit with a sword attack with the red outline they will get red rings across their hands. Do NOT use ATB attacks against Odin when in this situation as he’ll simply Reprise you. Normal attacks are fine and after a while the status will go away. You can do it! Just keep trying man. I did it at lvl 49 with dynamic difficulty

I think people wont like what i did but i knew my ahh wouldnt beat the 2 summon boss. And so i turned it on easy mode and it was a cake walk. You still have to deal with odin finisher because he'll still one shot you regardless of mode, but other than that, if you're struggling after hours trying to beat it, then turn on easy mode 👌🏼

Nice man. If you were able to beat that fight with how rough it was, that gives me a a lot of Hope lol. I got them halfway down on my first try, but I was also using my set up from the previous fight. I’m not sure if I’m gonna keep trying or just go beat the game and come back. But that’s literally the last thing that I can do without beating the game, so I don’t know

Also I found that Odin shrugs the debuffs off quickly, I equipped a Malboro orb to Yuffie and the debuffs lasted longer.

When it comes to Alexander I found out that some wind damage hurts his arms a decent amount which was pretty nice, I’m def gonna try this guide out! Last night I was really gonna blow my brains out this damn fight had me tight💀💀

What’s not mentioned is after that first vanish Odin comes back with a fucking vengeance that plus all those damn shock waves if your not healed will delete you very quick

Took me 2 to 3 hours to beat on dynamic mode but never felt so proud. I focused on defeating Odin first until he vanished then I focused on Alexander which I mostly used Thundaga on it.

I used Cloud, Barett and Red here. I abused Wild Charge and Phantom ___ Cloud for Plasma Discharge and Manawall as he has higher mana pool, Barret as the regen guy and red as the supernal fervor and debuff guy. Plasma Discharge + Firebolt Blade can easily melt Alexander’s Arms just make sure cloud has elemental materia + Lightning

If you’re lucky enough, you can take down Alexander before Odin comes back the first time, I managed to do this saving up for thundaga, using arcane ward and destroying his arms before Alexander uses divine judgement. Once Alexander is pressured make sure to have pressuring moves like focused thrust in order to stagger him faster

Looks to me like the vanish from Odin is hp threshold based

I went intothis fight with revival earrings and a "can-do" attitude. Took 6 rounds and I finally got lucky on round 6 and took out Odin. Alexander was near death so it was maintaining HP and using lightning 3 to he was dead.

Why would I change magnify spell to single in battle? Is there any change in MP or DMG?

3:34 showcases one of the most annoying things in the fight. Why does earth tremor, which visually shows a shockwave traveling on the ground, hit in the air? I made this mistake like 3 times because my brain couldn't register how little sense it made.

I watched another video where it said all these multiple materia to use and use long range attacks from Yuffi (my main party is Cloud, Yuffi and Tifa) which was fine, but it really did not work. Based on your guide the only materia change I made was to give cloud poison which I had originally gotten to level 2 with Red, as Cloud already had debuff. Followed your guide and smashed the battle first time. Had the revival earrings just in case and didnt even have to use them. Crazy though that this battle is harder than the final Gilgamesh one.

Temporal Imprisonment impose Stop status which cannot be cured. You can tell this by looking at the status effect with a yellow border. Status effects with yellow border are not removable and can wear off after some duration.

Nice to hear Alexander is supposed to be pressured after divine judgement, I just had a go and after Odin was down to a quarter, he came back and they both came at me full force, Alexander was not pressured, the whole floor was lit up like a Christmas tree with light pillars and Odin dancing around. Obliterated me. Absolute bullshit🤣 game is so broken sometimes!

I see a lot of people neglecting synergy skills, theyre so useful

i find it bs that the earth tremor hits you even you are in the air.

Heres a neat trick, put limit siphon on aerith, then build her limit level to 3, u basically win the battle from there. She can use her lvl 3 limit which gives the other 2 party members their full limits, use one characters limit for dmg and then have aerith siphon the limit from the other party member. Then have aerith use her lvl 3 limit again and repeat the cycle for infinite limits the rest of the battle. Is it a cheese...Yes. But does it feel nice spamming limits.. also yes

Wow, those fuckers. I thought Odin was badly designed enough, but fighting him AND another boss at the same time? These developers did not play test this whatsoever. I've heard Hard mode is an absolute nightmare as well, so looking forward to that...

I summon bahamat during alexander. Right after odin came back bahamut gigaflared. Odin immediately vanished. And i finished off alexander. Not to bad. Def had the hardest time with the first one.

How do I make the target stop locking on to Alexander everytime I lock on to odin? I feel like im fighting the camera more than any enemy smh

This won't be seen, but you can actually dodge zentazuken with Yuffie's Brumal Form

You CAN make Odin vanish without pressuring him by keep avoiding his spear attacks and hitting him …

Now THIS is useful info. the other guide from another channel was complete horseshaat. dude even played on easy mode and pretended that it was "how u beat them"...he did 5 LB with cloud and 3 o4 4 LB with tifa and had soo fast easy stagger and some attacks dealt like almost 0 damage on his team. how is that even a "guide", its literally not even remotely comparable. this video however, gives usefull info about odins stats which i did not know before. pillars of light, just ignoring them (saves 10 seconds) which could be used to killing alexander etc.

I have no idea how Odin didnt use his ultimate after hiw much he hit you. I dont get it

It's funny that you compare Odin to a Soul's boss, because I find Odin harder than any boss from any of the Souls games. At least in Souls you can heal up the damage, while Odin is just like "I hit you 2 times? You lose!"

Mates the info in this guide and the comments really helped did it within 3 tries. I used Cloud, Barret, Tifa -Debuff Odin -save limits for Alexander -synergy -Phoenix for insurance -if it's not on Hard use the items you've built up I actually put down Alexander first before Odin used Lord of the Battlefield

You gotta start using tifa shes too OP with unbridled strength. She pressures odin easily and shes fast

Materia loadout please!

Odin resists every debuff every time i cast one, bio, debrave, de faith, deprotect, etc. he casts zantetsuken within the first 2-3 minutes and its over. I dont know how youre getting the debuffs to stick.

I can’t lie this fight took me 20 tries it’s Alexander that makes this fight absolutely annoying because if you leave Odin alone it’s a prob so then you get him to vanish damn near kill Alexander and he uses judgement kills your whole party 😭

What’s a good level to start this?

Finally beat these cheap jerks - cloud yuffie and red Red is really really good at evading Odin so you get him to do his buffs sooner / cloud and yuffie did status while red had multiple esuna Had to have level 3 limit breaks Used synergy on odin - limit breaks on alexander Taking out alexander by round 2 is essential - and though I tried using phoenix to survive odin, it worked better to just use bahamut to help take down alexander first When I beat it, odin was still 3 seconds away from his 9999 kill but i got lucky lol

No Enemy Skill Materia with Impulse? Odin's Vanish seems to be HP linked, 70-75% then 40-45% Everyone builds ATB faster than Aerith lol

This fight isn't really all that terrible. Just debuff the shit out of odin and haste everyone. I used tifa and cloud for the unlimited MP bonus synergy skill. Comet those bitches to oblivion.

Fuck this fight 😂 I beat the other 4 summons bosses in my 1st try at level 50 but this one took me 1 hour 20+ minutes on normal difficulty at level 50. This was the hardest because the boss that doesn’t move kept knocking everyone down when trying to fight Odin then Odin would do a follow up before you can get up and dodge out of the way.

Dodging Odin does not work for me he casts Zantetsuken anyway. I am dodging everything and it doesnt' matter.

this fight on easy mode... is still dog shit lol. i find odins moveset the most annoying, getting hit by everything so he always casts zantetsuken.

Bro fkn ironic how this fight was the easiest out of the 3, I had a much harder time fighting bahamut and titan. My lineup was cloud aerith yuffie just kept doing ATB commands and abused clouds lv3 limit break, I tanked Divine Judgment using Manawall and even managed to summon odin which wiped them off. LMAO odin didnt do shit he wasnt able to cast zantetsuken on me 😂😂😂
