It's time for Ripley's final encounter with the alien, low on fuel and supplies can I beat the aliens and their new bag of tricks or will they come out on top? White text - Me/Ripley Green text - Aliens
That's such a great troll moment. You finally find a generator that's actually working and doesn't need any creeping around to restart, and just as you're about to get out the area....nope.
"You have to extend the doc!" How about you just turn the ship in the right direction, get your ass down to the airlock, and I will jump/float towards the door. We have bolt guns, rope, and magnet boots! This isn't rocket science!
I learned from watching other "Lets Play" videos of this game before getting it that scavenging is VITAL. Leave no cabinet unchecked, no corpse unlooted.
More important is to push forward through the game thoroughly, analyzing enemy patterns and patrolling routes. Never engage an enemy, never use any distraction, stay completely absent like a shadow in the dark, and instead progress carefully, step by step while the enemy leaves an opening or when the Xenomorph leaves the area. This may make the game longer and harder but also more rewarding (avoiding enemies is MUCH harder than killing them), and it allows you to avoid getting killed all the way and save lots of precious resources and ammo. And also, it allows to take the time to fully experience the stealth horror, explore the station and enjoy the fantastic Alien franchise's decor and layout.
Dude.... this is great. I've seen plenty of videos with more than irritating commentary, but yours had me biting my nails at times. I binged it up to here and finally took a break.
What is it with violins that they just seem to express this sense of urgency better than any other instrument? The sound is just so sharp, so cutting. lol I agree. Music in this game is 10/10. :)
Ikr. Why did he left? Any problems or outright something else? This is literally the best gameplay format I have ever seen. No annoying commentary and screams; instead subtitles. Describing the enviroment events. Little cuts of voice reactions. His sense of humor is also top notch. I could watch hours of content like this.
Am I the only one wondering why his first reaction to ANY xeno is to pull out molotovs/Flamethrower? Sneaking past is nearly always an option and you could save a lot of fuel by using the revolver against huggers.
Alblaka it usually most effective and if it does see you, you have it ready to use instead of wasting time to switch to something else and might just panic and equip something else like I use a revolver against the xenomorph.
Flame thrower is quieter, has a wider effective area than the Revolver and even if you're sneaking passed the alien, it's a good Idea to have your gadget wheel set on Molotov or Flamethrower so if you fail to go undetected, you can quickly make it back off
I learned my first couple of playthroughs that the more you burn it, the more aggressive it gets and the closer it stays licking it's wounds. It holds a massive grudge if you are constantly bathing it in flames. From my experience the pipebomb and Molotov give you more time before it returns. I do my best to avoid attacking it at all . I like to stay as close to 1000 on the flamethrower as I can for those rare places like this where it might become absolutely necessary . That way I don't piss it off real bad or run out of fuel. I don't waste the flamethrower on facehuggers. I use the hammer or whatever it's called. If you have really pissed it off on hard or nightmare it can take 4-5 bursts to get it to run but it won't run far, muhahahahaha. Short burst will do the job and save fuel. Great music but I always turn it down so I can hear the Alien. I don't think I have ever had the alien on the stairs turn and see me. You are talented, LOL
I know I haven't been here in roughly two weeks but I must say that at 5:12- 5:16s got me cleanly. I jumped on the inside. I think I commented this before in one of your previous episodes but it's always heart racing and fear inducing when you hear the Alien's scream especially if it's really close by........ Edit: See what I mean. From 5:57s- 6:29s can be nerve wrecking to an extent but the music in the background brought back previous joys from past episodes so it didn't really salt the wound too much but 6:24 nearly got me when the screen said, "Wait, that's not enough?" ........Then it charges madly at Ripley..................................................................... Edit: 11:53- 12:08s- Both Verlaine and Ripley's voices seem so desperate and depressing at that point and when Verlaine responds to Ripley by saying, "Ripley! Thank God. I hear you! I need you to extend the dock cradle clamps, quickly! There are two, should be close by," you can really hear the sound of relief in her voice. It was desperate at that point....................
Damn you sped through that last station so fast you didn't even realize there were two Aliens. At least, for when I played, there were two. I was freaking out.
Fun fact: the alien's tail is almost entirely cosmetic (besides the killing animations). The tail cannot detect the player, but the alien can "see" a short distance behind itself. So don't give a damn about the tail, but keep in mind it will spot you if you're almost right behind it.
And now imagine you play A.I. with the Stalker Alien mod or the Silent Alien mod or the Agressive Alien mod or the Unpredictable Alien mod. Or with a combination of these mods. - Apparently there are players who don't find the game scary / challenging enough. When you were working on the docking clamps and climbing out of the vents, I don't know if it was lag but it seemed like you put it in slow motion and I was just bracing my ass for a jump scare
2 things that i didnt know on my 1st playthrough on hard. 1- the alien is threatened by the flamethrower 2- the alien cant hear you walk in another room (i literally crouched when i knew the alien was around). my progress was so much slower and i died soo much on this area. when she has to restart the generator and walk down that corridor i got cut off by the alien atleast 5 times.
Haven't played this game, just watched several complete play-throughs. Why is the alien so much more aggressive in this mission that the other ones? Or is it just because the game is expected to be harder at this point?
This video may be 6 years old but I gotta say that it bothers me how he keeps using flashbangs as a distraction when they’re a deterrent like molotovs. Anyways I love the video dude
If you have a death wish sure, otherwise it will hear you running from the other side of the station. Always work on the basis that the alien is in a nearby vent and will investigate the slightest noise
/lisson Felipe Sowza really it was easy if you know when your in danger most of the time the game wants to make you panic to waste ammo I got through the game with 1000 fuel left not kiding most of the time I was hideind and didn't waste a lick of fuel
Direct hits with a shotgun at close range will stagger it and eventually drive it off, but that's easier said than done. Not sure about the revolver or bolt gun.
Also, what mode were you playing on? The last part was so hard for me. There were actually two aliens in the final room and I don't think the other one even showed up on your screen.
Had to look it up after you said that to believe it. I must have been super lucky since neither alien hunted me in that room at all despite it being on hard difficulty.
Kukakkau That's amazing! I had some holy fuck moments in the last part. Including one where one of them was crawling in the vent towards me. First time I'd seen that.
