That reminds me of my time trolling the Alien by climbing up and down a ladder in the Warehouse section... until I was too slow once and it grabbed me right off the ladder and I got stabbed midair. xD
It got in the vents progressively faster each time until you got confused and stayed put when you should have headed for the other room. I wonder if you'd kept it going a while longer if the Alien would have figured out to drop back down the same vent it went up in anticipation of your strategy.
