Interesting points about mounted combat. I find it a bit easier to keep my bearings as a infantry class trying to dodge enemies. Enemy super armor can also be sturdy so the way mounted moves move you forward can also leave you open for a bit, on higher difficulties as least. That's a bit of a differences with original warriors in which disrupting enemies remains fairly easy and mob enemies didn't actively attack on high-level maps. Claude messes with enemies all over the place, but maddening mobs aren't easy to down by default. The way arrow hitboxes work, especially since Claude is fire from higher up leaves gaps in attack coverage and timing for persistent mobs or not broken enemies to chip him. Compare to some other classes who move about less and have more consistent attacks covering close to their body. Playing keepaway helps a bit but is little trickier to aim the attacks with, and when not careful some attack charge claude forwards again. Based on the video I might give fallen star another try since it might give me the better crowd control I've been seeking. One of Claudest strongest points that is important in the same context is how Barabossa's combat art Wind God is great glue for the moveset too, clearing out a wide area and giving him a unique tool for heavy damage his moveset and Relic lacked. I kind of wish he had a dramatic longer lasting tornado like Emperor at times though. There's also the fetters of Dromi as an option to gain mounted mobility a single crested ground unit of choice. Overall I do understand it's large advantages but it's not a automatic win for me. But I didn't fully max out characters and skills yet, so might make a difference. S rank time limits are also generally more tight so doing things in a speedy fashion is more important . The defensive side of of things just seems tricker this time around. With enemy semi-combat arts and your own arts things get really chaotic easily too and it's worse with some mounts. This may be just prefence, and on lower difficulties it's also pretty much a non-issue. Will the more character focused video's also explore parts of this game's meta, offensively and defensively?

1:50 With one of Wyvern Master's unique abilities, (Leader's Ploy) you'll throw two sets of fireballs, which shreds through weak point gauges should you catch them with this move. Specially on demonic beasts, since they can't be launched.

One of the only times we’ve seen a tamed wyvern breathe fire in game. personally I wish more games had this mechanic of a wyvern rider using its mount to shoot fire balls.

Imo, even if someone prefers Bow Knight to Barbarossa, going through the class is still worth it to get Wind God, which is an insanely powerful combat art due to its effective against all.

@Warriors Dojo, Would you consider Claude’s Barbarossa class to be the successor to Teba’s play style from Age of Calamity?
@JosepiThe13th

Teba is more grounded. I would say it’s more like the successor to Revali, but actually done well.

I figured you'd like Barbarossa, since it's the only unique mounted master class (unless you count Death Knight). While it's much better, this was the playstyle that felt closest to Age of Calamity for me; it reminded me of Teba in that it can be easy to mess up the timing going from your R5 -> C6 or R6 -> C7. Another commenter mentioned Leader's Ploy, which is an auto-include for me with Claude. The class action is great at stun gauge and health bar damage, so I'll use that whenever I can trap an enemy commander.

Mounted Units are also great because you can just dismount and be a foot unit if you want. That sliding side to side bow Strong Attack... 5? That can also be amazing to clear HUGE groups.

By the way, after you do Shez and Byleth how are you going to go over all the other units? Are will you do a video ranking their unique actions?

i understand Edelgard is more of a offensive but they are items to make her faster and more agile, and i always use her and Byleth when i go into Record mode, Barbarossa is fun class and love Claude's outfit for it not his default yeah the Archer class jobs are essentially the same movesets with different arts associated with them being the only difference, this applies to the others but unlike first FE Warriors, Three Hopes gives you a much more variety of choices like classic Fire Emblem Games have done it past

Hmm, I feel like you are undervaluing the unique classes a little bit, at least to this point. They each seem to be tailored towards the characters they are intended for and will likewise accent their strengths. Edelgard's unique abilities lead to a scorched earth, front of the line dps unit, and so her unique class is an armored infantry for safety reasons. The emperor has attacks that are pretty quick and large compared to the other axe wielders and the fire imbued aspect makes the enemies undergo death by a thousand paper cuts similar to Impa from AoC and the specials have large enough areas to help make the damage application more efficient. Dimitri's unique abilities also tie into a front line brawler and his gimmick appears to be taking large chunks out of the enemies health at a time. This seems to be reflected in his attacks being designed in such a way as to keep groups of enemies in front of him to build up the charge to obliterate them when you finally launch them away. While the horses can do this, I find that you tend to move forwards too much and your attacks are too small to maintain the same sized groups of enemies that you can with the great lord class. Finally Claude, the schemer who will put his foes in unfavorable situations and always has a tactic prepared for any situation, hence being mounted to move as needed. He has the fireball traps to melt his foes, but his attack string also emphasizes trapping and juggling your enemies to get the damage off and set up for his unique abilities. While most of the unique classes are infantry, I do not believe this is a drawback, because they will deal with enemies easily enough to compensate for the lack of mobility (Their base stats are typically higher than the other units) The only drawback I can really see about the unique lord classes is their lack of magic, which is really overpowered in this game. Even then, Dimitri is the only one that could use both magic and his relic, and the relics are A.) really strong, and B.) have very useful unique combat arts tied to them that I'm not certain I would give up for the ability to use spells. (Dimitri also doesn't learn any offensive spells naturally except aura and thoron, which aren't spectacular except for damage output, which he already has in spades.) At the end of the day, it all comes down to the trade offs that you are willing to take and your preferred play style. I don't value movement as much as most seem to, and so prefer the unique classes to spice up the game play. Sorry for the long winded comment, I'm really excited that you are now covering Three Hopes and am looking forwards to your next video.

Still feel like its a wasted opportunity for Edelgards unique class, both in Houses and in Hopes, not to be able to use magic, considering how she seems to be build towards a hybrid axe-wielding magic using class and has a strong spell list in both games.

i feel like barbarossa is better than bow knight; the class action (fireballs) does insane dps, espcially with leader's ploy. it has more elements with wind and fire = more ways to break monster gauges. wind god is also absurdly strong (the best bow CA in the game by far). flight has some advantages on some maps as well

Rip personal lord classes. Even Barbarossa is kinda worse than Bow Knight due to slower attacks, slower movement and bow weakness. The only personal class that is truly better than the competition is Death Knight since it is Dark Knight but with better skills. Asura definitely beats all other master classes except for Dark Knight, and the most ironic thing is that it brings defeat to itself. Axebreaker just makes Dark Knight the best class for Shez due to perfect weapon triangle control and Dark Spikes allows DK to shred the many horse endgame enemeis without using a Rapier, giving Shez access to a stronger weapon
