Secretly, Rudy just has an Olympic sized swimming pool full of reserve list cards, so he can do a Scrooge McDuck off a diving board into them every morning.

Rudy, I actually heard of MTG about a month ago and after buying a stack of cards from the antique store downtown, I learned to play and love it. So upset every day over this situation. 20 years ago my mother had the opportunity to work for Wizards of the Coast as middle management. She turned it down for another job and we have been kicking ourselves every day since *weeps dramatically*

I'm pretty new to Magic (a few months in) and at first I really did not like the ancient cards and actually hated seeing them all the time. Now, after hours of watching Rudy, I'm in love with them and can start to feel the "magic" behind them and why they're so treasured. This is an awesome journey to be on!

my favorite lands other than mishra's, urza's, or "OG" duel lands was basic lands from Unglued... beautiful art on them IMO....

Man, a workshop and a bazaar just... out like that. I would not touch without gloves + immediate double/triple sleeves to be safe.

I had a friend, also now deceased, who used to work at WOTC in the early days. At first I thought this might be his collection, but it is not. His story of how he collected it was pretty interesting. Apparently, whenever someone would mail in a defective card to ask for a replacement, they'd just start opening packs until they found a replacement. All of the extra cards from those packs would then be plopped on a shelf in a stock room where they'd sit until the room got too full, at which point employees would take the overflow home. He had several complete sets of Legends that he acquired this way, for instance. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all still sitting in his basement, and his widow has no idea she's sitting on a gold mine.

I have a full set of alpha like clipped duals for my edh deck. Gorgeous.

For every Beta Counterspell (the best counterspell ever printed) there are probably 50 to 100 Alliances Force of Wills. So I think the current price of $100 for a pretty easy to find card seems about right.

I’d be willing to send you my collection as well Rudy. It doesn’t have anything crazy I don’t think, but it has some dual lands from the original sets, tutors, and others. I have no idea it’s value, nor do I care to have it appraised. I just wanna put em in a good home. No payment necessary. I never had the heart to throw them out, but I played through most of the 90s up until the mid 2000s. If you’re interested, you could give me a buzz and I’d gladly send them your way.
