This is the Chicago food experience. You can’t duplicate the El, the yellow sign, the wax paper the hot dog without ketchup, and the greasy bag. This brings back memories.

No tomato, no celery salt, no pickle. No dog. Fuck outta here. And get those fucking fries out of my dog and serve them on the side like a human being. Shameful stuff. Lots of “iconic” places in Chicago do this too. Should be illegal.
I loved how the meat was weighed. The sounds and the closeups did it for me 🤤 I especially liked how sometimes throughout the video you can hear customers ordering their food
I used to live in southern Wisconsin and work on a farm. On Friday night I would drive to Chicago to sell at the Wicker Park farmer's market the following morning, and every Friday night, I would come to Red Hot Ranch for 2 Chicago dogs and some cheese fries. It was a tradition, ritual really.
For anything over $2.29 I expect more than 1/6 pound baby d*** burgers. $5 for a sliced fried potato covered with generic cheese? I can get 5 pounds for $1.75.
I watched the whole video at just over 21 minutes…and it was totally worth it! The dogs and burgers are great! I loved the quick hands involved during the preparation of the shrimp.
Same way from mid 70's- early 2000's, this is Chicago Diner Style. Yuppies and health nuts in late 90's and up drove out so many of these restaurants/ diners / hotdogs stands. Born & raised in Chicago and from mid 70's. So many spots did this style of cheeseburgers. Sky high rent, gentrification just drove out these small spots.

The close up shot of the food is the money shot. When the food is filmed that close, thats when I feel like I am the one whos eating the food. Just makes me so hungry I can eat 5 of those smashed burgers right now.
@@saliseduardo4357 nobody thinks this is health food. Eating at a place like this once or twice a month while maintaining an otherwise healthy diet isn't a problem.
Really? Tomato on bottom with lettuce that is not shredded? Poorly built burger with the ingredients in the wrong place. Yes it matters where the lettuce and tomato are located in the burger. That burger could be better.

@@harvestfarms yes here in america thats how we make a shack burger, lettuce and tomato on bottom. That's the way in n out makes their burger and many many many many many other burger shacks.
the fries are that colour in the end is because they didn't rinse out the starch under running cold water after chipping the potatoe, thus also dirtying the fryer oil when you don't rinse out the starch, and thus having to garbage the oil faster and raising food cost.
I'm going through some tough times right now. I come across this video and believe it or not, not only this was relaxing but also the time that I watched this, I forgot about my problems for a bit.
It’s my fav to go to and it’s so good. Better than any fast food chain and made right there in front of you. Staff is great and probably have to go tomorrow because this vid is making me crave it!
“No music or narration just the sounds of the kitchen”. I shot a video of the 4 guys making pizzas in N. Philly restaurant last summer visiting from Seattle. They made 40 pies in the 10 minutes we were waiting for our order…the kitchen show was worth it!
when ground meat is packaged, the meat on the outside is exposed to more oxygen. That's why meat turns a bright red color on the outside while the inside remains brown. When myoglobin is mixed with oxygen it becomes oxymyoghobin, or more commonly knon as "blooming". If the meat on the outside looks brown or grayish brown it is starting to spoil.
There's this place in Glendale Arizona called Dazzo's, they're from Chicago, best hotdog place in that area. My friends and I used to always go there, it was a nice hike from where we lived, but damn it was always worth it, especially eating thise fries, all wrapped up with with the hot dog!!! I love this video
I make these once a week for the family. Blackstone is being put to great use. Kids prefer my smash burgers over going to a fast food chain. I’ll have to agree with them on that as well
What makes you destroy the juicy burger by smashing the meat? Do your kids walk away if you're not finished in 2 minutes? Are your children too dumb to understand what good ingredients are, the correct treatment for meat on the grill is? Teach them good grilling and not shitty cheap fast food crap for fat morons. What is wrong with doing your best instead of just serving fast shit food?
They're overfilling the fry baskets, and not staggering them in the vats. The oil will cool down too quickly and the fries will turn out overly greasy instead of crispy.
Proud born and raised Chicagoan here , i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt the Chicago burgers are some of the best in the country, The Loyalist Burger was rated #3 in the entire country not long ago , Small Cheval , Kuma's Corner , Bad Apple , Little bad wolf , Kitchen Barrel , Au Cheval ect .. people here don't eat McDonald's or Burger King , you have these burgers all these other fast food burgers are trash !
@@markjordan1765 you must be a Trumper watching all the fake news that only focuses on the ghetto , funny but he use to love Chicago and even dreamed of building a skyscraper in our city , then he defrauded the city evaded taxes as he usually does and then started talking s*** about Chicago, all this negative news about Chicago started with the fat f** Trump ! Smash burgers were the original way that hamburgers were made prior to all the fast food stuff and frozen patties etc. I grew up in the 50's and there was no fast foods that I remember?? BTW, large all the way burgers were 6 for a dollar $1.00. Large watermelons were also 6 for a dollar and gasoline was, on the average about .18 cents per gallon.
Those are some good lookin smash burgers 😋 there are a lot of so called smash burgers around these days as they've become trendy.... But those are official I give those burgers 👍🏾👍🏾
I cant believe how much I enjoyed this Video!........I go to MLB Baseball Games All Over The Country......When I Go to Chicago, I Pray I can go here !!
