That's because... she could hear the baby's thoughts?!... She even mentioned that she heard it crying within her mind! Nan couldn't do anything without reading minds, who knows maybe her powers would have become stronger and allowed her to excel at divination but that is simply speculation.
They had to kill off Misty first before they could do anything else because they had to tear our heartstrings out when Zoe "died". I remember always thinking "if misty were still alive this wouldn't have happened!!" During this episode.

Add to the fact that Anna Leigh was the Supreme preceding Fiona that it wouldn’t be completely lost what Anna Leigh’s item is without using magic.
We don't actually know for sure how powerful Madison was, because a big part of Cordelia suppressing her powers was that they began manifesting in multiple people. And once she stopped the powers disappeared in the other. For example, Queenie could bring Misty back but not Zoe because by the time it came to Zoe, Cordelia wasn't suppressing herself anymore so her powers stopped manifesting in others. We don't know how many of the Wonders abilities Madison actually has and how many were simply Cordelia's. Only one we know for sure is Telekinesis.
Tica the next supreme wouldn’t have died. And anyway she had a heart defeat before the first time she died and she couldn’t just be a supreme after she came back cause the new supreme was already killing Fiona. So therefore, she was never a supreme.

Notice how at 2:40 Cordelia looks towards Madison as soon as she touches the cigarette holder. Almost as if Cordelia noted that Madison did actually found the correct item from Anna. Though I feel that Cordelia is probably unsure whether this qualifies to Madison actually using Divination so she remains quiet about it. As a viewer, I found this pretty funny actually cause Madison “found” it ironically and I choose to think Cordelia sensed something as a result.
I feel she did secretly know inside her bjt her mind was too caught up in this being unfair her mind didnt see it but her conscious did. Plus madison has never used that box before in the episodes so how would she know there was cigarettes in there? Its because of her power, she knew she shouldve been next supreme.
in my theory, cordelia was able to focus and use her experience with her sight to obtain the accuracy and ease when it came to divination. madison, however, was always impulsive and arrogant. she used her powers because she could - not because she was conjuring them with her inner power. therefore why she couldn't properly pass the divination test because she didn't concentrate properly and expected to use divination like lighting up the neighbour's curtains.

I agree her mind didnt see it but i feel her conscious did, in each episode madison never used the box so how would she know there was cigarettes in there? Its because she was too caught up in it being unfair to realize this was the box she was supposed to find! I personally think with help and when shes older she should becomee supreme, she has all the powers and more power than cordelia but the only reason she wasnt next supreme was because of inner demons sadly, i feel with personal growth madison would make an amazing supreme

The object may have belong to Anne Leigh but we don’t know for sure if the cigarette holder was the exact object she was suppose to find. It could have been a trinket or something else.

Madison NOR Zoe would have ever been the supreme Madison is way too selfish to run a coven. She'd abuse her powers for her own needs, turn against her own kind and kill them off. She's pretty much a walking incarnation to Fiona in that sense. She'd use her powers to make men love her, she'd hurt and bully anyone to make them do what she wanted so her power was never questioned. Hell she slept with Kyle to spite Zoey and even tried to make him hers. She's a powerful witch, but she's way too self centered to run a coven, it would end up a mess just like with Fiona. Zoey is a powerful witch and carries a strong moral compass that makes her believe she will do the right thing. But is ultimately too immature for such a thing. She has a good heart but her Black widow power and own insecurities prevent her from handling serious situations properly. Kyle acts as her anchor and supports her through everything, showing their strong relationship. But she isn't the right witch to run a coven
Actually I think Madison actually wss the next supreme only cause she did pass divination. She found the cigarette holder therefore she performed all 7 wonders. But when she was being choked and died it passed on to Cordelia, she didn't have the power to being Zoey back till Madison died which is why she then got her eyesight back when Madison died. Glowing health is what a supreme should be and she wasn't when madison was alive. Madison actually cured her weird death skin color and looked perfectly alive even her scar disappeared I think
Zeibia Hyuga Madison didn’t find the cigarette holder because she wanted to, which was what she was supposed to do. She ‘found’ it by accident, so therefore did not perform all seven wonders.

It makes sense she was the next supreme due to Kyle killing her as Cordelia tried bringing Zoey back to life, once Madison died the supreme powers transferred to Cordelia and she was able to bring Zoey back. Not to mention when she got up she was glowing radiant health like all rising Supremes do.
Zeibia Hyuga Madison did not “divine incorrectly”. I doubt that’s a thing. That’s like someone asking somebody a question, then the person not knowing the answer to the question, wings it, and gets it right anyway. Madison did not know that the cigarette holder was the item she was supposed to locate, she just came across it because she was stressed and needed a smoke. Cordelia starting to glow with health was meant to parallel Madison literally getting the life squeezed out of her.

It wasn't the order. Divination was technically the only test left for her. She did all the others with the other girls and she brought the fly back to life instead of Zoe out of spite, but she still brought it back. Divination was her last test.
this is the part where I was starting to get lost, zoe died, cause she accidentally killed herself, so now they're back in the game and suddenly queenie isn't a part of the test anymore. why? did I miss something?
Considering how shady Myrtle was, I wouldn't be surprised if she knew Kyle was going to kill her. Or if she somehow put the idea in his head. We know the last thing she'd want is another Fiona running the joint. I think she knew that it was going to be Madison and needed that not to happen. Kyle kills her, and Cordelia ascends to supremacy. We see that she has killed for Cordelia before, and ultimately dies for her. And even if it wasn't Cordelia, it might have been Queenie, preferable to Madison. How was Kyle able to kill her, she has magic and can teleport, she flipped a bus for heavens sake! Not to mention Kyle would be killing the only person he knows can bring back Zoe. It was either very horribly written, or very cleverly hidden.

These are the reasons why, in my opinion, Madison was not supreme and actually failed the Divination test: 1. The cigarette holder did not belong to Anna Leigh, during the flashback we saw that she touched it for a few seconds the night she was killed by Fiona. Now, we know that at that time there were many more witches living there, so why would Anna Leigh have a supposedly personal object in a public area? Where any person could have used it, stolen it or even damaged it (remember that they were in the living room). We also know in advance that Madison was already a smoker, so it would not be strange if she knew where the cigarettes were, she probably had already taken one from the cigarette holder before. 2. The level of detail with which Cordelia describes the location of the object is far superior to how Madison tries to express it. Also (and this may sound a bit silly) in the series when witches use magic a sound effect is heard, such as when they use Concilium or Telekinesis, said sound effect is heard when Cordelia uses Divination, when Madison does it it is not listen, being able to interpret that magic was not used. 3. We can assume that Myrtle knew the objects to search and the location of these, since if she did not, they would not know if that object was really from a previous supreme. Myrtle would not have chosen or hidden an object so close as well as too obvious (in the case that the cigarette holder was Anna Leigh's, which I already refute in my first point).
Divination test was probably the most simple test, should've been one the first tests, but then again Madison would've been the first one be taken out the competition.
It's not that simple, as it requires a great deal of focus and concentration. It just requires the least amount of power. Of course, given Madison lacked concentration, there was no way she could divine anything.
if cordelia was the supreme all along her eyes would’ve been fixed BEFORE she completed all 7 wonders therefore the parallel of the cameras of madison dying and cordelia bringing zoe back to life has to mean that the supreme power wasn’t transferred to cordelia until after madison died
She said the hallmark of any *rising* supreme is glowing radiant health. Even more so, the power were to leave the rising supreme, it would go back into the current supreme, that being Fiona. Since Fiona was still dying, the rising supreme was only Cordelia.

Zoe benson should be the next supreme after cordelia. She passed every test (divination and vitallium vitalis before the 7 wonders test) plus she looks a lot like scathach (first supreme) SHE COULD BE HER DESCENDANT
I will never believe that the woods witch was the first supreme. It makes no sense. All she did was bind spirits but look at Murder house and Hotel that ain't that hard to do. Zoe failed when she died
People hating on Madison but defend such useless characters like Kylie, are biased and narrow minded. Her character was quite complex and had actual depth, she was incredibly powerful and actually contributed something to the story.
I just got it. I was wondering why queenie failed bringing zoe back to life. Because she never brought misty back, cordelia did that. That was bugging me for years.
I think that after Fiona, madison Was The next supreme. we see her technically do all seven wonders (the cigarette dispenser she went straight to was Anna Leighs) and then when she died, Cordelia claimed her supremacy. Obviously since Fiona and Cordelia were alive at the same time it's possible for at least 2 Supremes to exist at once, so why not 3? Even if it was only for like a day. Just a thought.
There's no such thing as "2 Supremes to exist at once", least of all three. For one Supreme to come in, the previous needs to go out. Madison was the true heir of the Supremacy, she was arrogant and blinded by the fear of the competition, but she possessed divination powers. Once she was dead (out), her second best arose (came in).
There’s only one supreme, which was Fiona. I think the next supreme could have been any one of them, but I think Cordelia was the true heir. I think Fiona had a love-hate relationship with her daughter because she always knew subconsciously that Cordelia was the next supreme but didn’t want to kill her daughter to stay in power, and abandoned the coven. Fiona says right before she dies that Cordelia sapped some of her power when she was born, and resented her for that because Fiona knew her time started ticking.
@Dareh Shipp madison didn't have health problems honey she said it herself that after her trip to afterlife when fiona killed her ALL of her health problems were gone. jesus. and yes madison WAS the supreme because she may didn't pass divination but she ended up finding the item and the parallels showing madison being choked and cordelia bringing zoe back to life are no coincidence. only when madison died was cordelia able to resurrect zoe. and still, i prefer madison or cordelia being supreme than mallory in apocalypse!!
I think Madison is the next Supreme. She's the most powerful witch in coven. But when Fiona slit her throat, she's dead. And the power keeps pouring into other girls, looking for the right one. So that's why everyone gets stronger. But when Misty brings her back, once again she proves that she's clearly the next Supreme. And when Kai kills her, the power once gain left her and pour into the only one left, Cordelia. since Queenie can't bring Zoe back from dead. That's my opinion :)))) but I'm glad that there's no other Fiona

No doubt Madison is powerful but without divination, she is just another witch. I’m not sure what the death of Madison had to do with Cordelia bringing Zoe back, but that doesn’t make Madison the Supreme were Cordelia out of the picture.

This doesn’t look like the most credible test. It would’ve been easy enough for Myrtle to tell Cordelia ahead of time what item she was going to have her divine and where it was. Also, Queenie went to retrieve the item alone with no one to serve as a second witness. She could have grabbed it from wherever and say she found it where Cordelia said it would be.
Regardless of the many ways to cheat divination, it’s still undeniable that Cordelia is the rightful supreme which mean that she has successfully passed divination.
The fun fact is Madison actually DID pass the divination test and went to a belonging of former Supreme Anna Leigh Leighton, even if she or her fellow witches didn't notice (or didn't want to).
Mastery is the key to passing the seven wonders. She may have subconsciously went to get Anna Leighton's item but it is clearly not well mastered as Cordelia's divination.
