At the end I will also show you the total weight of the sticks, coming in at 1lb 13.7 oz with all MOD's complete, 3 sticks together come in at 5lbs 9.1oz. & 4 sticks coming in at 7lbs 6.8oz...That's light....
I have links to the shrink tube which I picked up at Lowes...I also provide the item number for you and a link on where I got my Amsteel.
Shrink Tube from Lowes, item # is 757578, model number of shrink tube is 46-391:

Love having elastic at end allows u to keep end from flopping around

Looks like your inverted third stick stacking method will work on my Hawk Helium sticks also and cut down on the profile. I use about 10 wraps of serving string to whip the ends of my rope mods and that is working really well so far. Keep the tips coming!
@MarkDohring
@MarkDohring 5 лет назад
+Chuck White the serving string is a good idea also .. that cool that u can invert ur helium’s also.. I’m guessing it might work with the xops but then u lose the locking mechanism..

Thanks for the vid. I'll be ckeaning mine up the same way. This is Nik Shay btw. I revived my old youtube channel and changed the name. I just purchased everything to start filming this yr so im back to the grind! Im saving so much weight with the saddle and lightweight climbing methods i figured id add 10 lbs of camera gear haha

@@MarkDohring yea ive got 16 videos already i believe. Mostly kayak fishing/wade fishing with a few bow kills. But back when i was only using 2 action cams to film. I got an AX53 and an action cam this time so lookin to get some more professional shots this time

When you taper you pull strands at different distances to give a taper over a longer length

Had you ever tried to tape all those ends together and then stick the bundle into the end of the fid?

That was really great idea where do you get the alastic string. Very good info 👍

I thought you were going to bend the shock cord back toward the end and slide the shrink tube over it to secure it instead of tying the knots. I wonder if you tied a knot and then bent the shock cord up toward the end and then slid the shrink tube over it if that would make it really secure as well. Good video. I think you must have every climbing method there is. Are you going to get some ONE sticks from Tethrd now?

I'd just use hog rings and be done. Great idea though

Am I correct in assuming this same line will work with the original lone wolf climbing sticks?
@MarkDohring
@MarkDohring 5 лет назад
+hierks I would say yes .. the lone wolfs I have have a versa button so they will work..
@hierks
@hierks 5 лет назад
Mark Dohring thanks. I just wasn’t sure if the diameter of the Amstel rope needed would be different given the potentially different sized versa button between the two different stands.
@MarkDohring
@MarkDohring 5 лет назад
+hierks just make sure u go behind the loop after u go around the tree and then I will sometimes go around the versa button again.. and then tie a couple half hitched on the other side .. it should move

What size Amsteel are you using?
@MarkDohring
@MarkDohring 4 года назад
I use 1/4 Amsteel from Dutchweargear ... .90 a foot .. I start with about a 10’ piece (approx) I bury 12” back into the main line and bury the end back inside also .. end up with about a 8’-9’ rope .. which is great for big trees .. gives u that option

What are the diameters of the 2 FIDS you are using?

Would it have been easier to just do a little 4"-6"whoopie sling on the end instead of elastic & shrink tube? Hunt safely, my Friends!
@MarkDohring

That sounds like a great idea, I may have to try that.

Why not just use the straps that come with the beast sticks? They don’t have the sag of a rope mod and they are just as fast to install on a tree.
@MarkDohring
@MarkDohring 4 года назад
For me my ropes are 8’ 1” which is 2.5’ longer which allows me to get around some of the trees I hunt..
@00_ELECTRICWIZARD_00
@00_ELECTRICWIZARD_00 4 года назад
@Mark Dohring that’s some big honkin trees haha
@MarkDohring
@MarkDohring 4 года назад
The good thing about those trees... ur profile blends in better...just before I got my Beast Sticks I had Lone Wolf .. found a great tree went to throw the strap around about 1.5’ short.. took the strap off one of the other sticks put them together and that’s when I decide longer ropes.. now I don’t have any issues...lol

PAhunting The original idea of the rope mod was to minimize weight, allow for bigger trees, and quiet the system. The buckles on the straps can be noisy. Hunt safely, my Friends!

@Team Crooks I actually just purchased some stealth strips buckle silencers after seeing them on this channel. It completely dampens all noise.
