The music industry is dead as far as rock . Rock is dead because there's not enough album sales to generate the cash flow . Record companies are not going to sign a 5 man band , not enough money to be made and split . Rock bands also need a large road crew , expensive instruments etc. While rap and pop needs a mixing board and a microphone lol . This is why it's mainly rap and pretty faced solo artists these days . Very few new rock bands make it now . Touring generates money for the Bands that were already established 20 + years ago but they're aging fast . Streaming killed the " potentially big" up and coming Rock Bands .

If you have talent and people like you they can be sidestepped them, because they’ve always been the middleman and now that’s evaporating. It’s nice to see humanity start to take their power back. Think about it... An artist is into the art An artist wants to make art, share it with the world, and make enough to provide and have fun doing it. The music industry isn't invested in art or the artist. The MI wants to squeeze every drop they can get out of the artist for the sole purpose of making money. How does that leave the artist and their art in the end? The MI will pump you and your music so much that you'll become a fad that everyone will get tired of, and the grinding process will destroy your spirit, your love for the art, and your relationships.

@@TheBrob1983 but that's an extremely hard thing to accomplish, you can count how many artists have been successful going that route without using your other hand. ICP is another example of an artist getting extremely lucky to have success independently, they signed with a small label that quickly got bought out by another label who gave them a small advance for one album, said label renegotiated their contact for more albums and gave them an advance to reflect the change in contract, that same label was bought by one that was owned by Disney who did not want clown faced rappers who rapped about torturing sinners and were more about concept albums then producing singles so they quickly bought out ICPs contract. In one year they were under 3 different labels and after all the advances they received and the payment to terminate their contract they earned 1.5 million. They used that 1.5 mil to create their own label Psychopathic records and two decades and almost a dozen albums (2 platinum and several gold) later they're one of the most successful independent artists of all time

According to a record producer I know, many labels pool all their resources for a new act's first album or two, then back off and watch the act 'sink or swim'. In the last Years he even preached the Gospel at his Concerts and also a lot of times when he was working on a Movie in the Sixties. Not every popular Musician is or becomes a Satanist. You imply that Music in general is EVIL and that`s simply not true. Music is also part of the Language of God. He speaks through people by Artists that love God.
