An Ode to Jackson 

Prayers are so needed right now. I’m really struggling as he was my service dog and helped me stay well. He was my side kick and I adored him so very much.

Thank you. He was known as the most friendly and well behaved little dog in the city. He was so brilliant, super athletic and could jump on counters with grace. He had lovely manners and knew so many tricks. People were always surprised to find out he was mostly chihuahua with just a little hint of rat terrier.

Thanks, Dreamy. It's been a rough couple of weeks. We are devastated as it was completely unexpected.

This response was just what I needed to hear as it’s been an incredibly rough day. Thank you, Jeremy, for making me smile and laugh at your description of my little man. It really does suit him as he had a very big personality. He was my world and I’m rather lost without him. You are right, they are great friends and better family.

He loved me more than I could ever imagine and I miss him so much my heart aches just thinking about his little sweet face.

Thank you, Karen. Knowing others cared about him across the globe does make my pain a little less intense at times. This was so unexpected and we are completely devastated as there was nothing we could do to fix the disease that hit so swiftly.

I guess the best way to explain it is having a walking medical device with four paws and a heart of gold. I’ve been sicker these last few days than I’ve been in years and I’m not sure how to go on. But I have to have faith. Without it, I would just stop trying.

I am not okay with losing him so soon. It wasn’t supposed to be his time. He always looked so healthy. Thank you for the kind words, Neil.

@@Jacksonsjob not only do I feel your pain but I am living it too. It would seem that we can never shed enough tears for such a loyal friend.

Neil, I hope that Domo is up there looking out for my little man. It’s been so hard as we didn’t even know he was sick until he was sick. And it was a cruel sickness as there wasn’t any treatment that could save him or give us the gift of time. He looked so healthy and he was always very athletic. We are in shock and I am utterly broken. He was my service dog and alerted to me getting sick and I often could prevent spells altogether. I’ve been sicker since he left than I have been in all the years he worked along side me. He deserved a nice retirement of sleeping on the couch all day and growing old and grey. I’m not sure how to even move on without my little sidekick. I keep waking up in the middle of the night calling for my dear sweet little man.

@@Jacksonsjob I just had “vision” of the two of them playing together. Wagging tails are a good sign! The beauty of the passing onto the next life is that they revert back to their prime. When they were young and healthy. At the end of the month i will be back in the country and not only will i bring a German sausage for Domo but I’ll bring a snack for Jackson.

He’d like that very much. I’m not okay. I’m not okay. I can barely function without him. Thinking of him being with pain is all I can cling to. The ending of his pain was only the beginning of mine.

Thank you, Sneha. My heart is broken and we are just so devastated as we had very little time to accept the news. He’d just started going grey and we had imagined he’d grow old with us.
