14-0 after a loss in the past 2 years, 5 series clinching shutouts, played every minute in net for back to back cups. One vezina and one Conn Smythe. All at the age of 26. He is a first ballot hall of famer.
He’s the most dominant goalie I’ve ever seen. His athleticism is unmatched and the bigger the game the bigger the performance he puts together he’s truly something special
Its easier to be the best goalie when you have a top 5 defense core in front of you. Look at Binnington in 2019. He had Pietrangelo, Boumeester, Parayko, and other defensive defensemen like Gunnarson and Bortuzzo. The lightning have arguably the best defense in the league.
@@car-mazing Price had a .888 save percentage this series, Vasy had a .943 save percentage. In the playoffs overall: Price: .924 Vasy: .937 Vasy was by far the better goalie this year and the best goalie in the world
@@TampaBayGator20 talking about spitting facts! Bless those Canadiens even in the face of an outright ass whoopin…. They still cling to the days of Patrick Roy who they ran out of town!
@@nana-vt1lm bruh YOU cared enough to comment on a post that was made a week ago.. a positive comment at that, celebrating your goalie, from a person cheering for the opposing team. Talk about a sore winner..
Vasy is elated. The crowd apparently didn’t know who Ken Dryden was, so it had to wait until the word “goaltender” to realize who would get the trophy :) Congrats to Vasy!
It’s not that we don’t know who Ken Dryden is. I think the crowd was just waiting for more context. Just because he name dropped Dryden doesn’t necessarily mean he’s giving it to a goalie. Just saying. When he said “not since Ken Dryden” I threw my hands in the air. I didn’t start screaming until he said “has a goaltender”.
Easily could have gone to Kuch or Point, but well deserved. When you have Steven Stamkos on your cup winning team and he's probably the 4th or 5th choice for the Conn Smythe, you know your team is crazy stacked. Don't rule out a 3-peat.
@@jasonrichards5221 ou don't have to be a habs fan to see he has the most oversized gear in the game, look at him next to Price in the handshake the difference is brutal.
Well deserved win by tampa. Tampa is that team that will beat you in any play style. You can play a physical game and they'll beat you that way. You can play a slow-paced game and they will beat you that way. You could play a blowout game and they'd be that way and a low-scoring game and they beat you that way. You could bring an amazing goalie and they'll still win. As clearly demonstrated here. BIG WIN GO TAMPA!
To me I thought it was between Vasilleski or Kucherov to win the conn smythe and I was right because I'm sure Kucherov was the second candidate but really there is a few other players who could have won it too no doubt..
I’ve been an 88 fan for the past 5 years and today Vasilevskiy goes down as on of the greatest goaltenders of all time and I am happy to have seen it all from him.
More goalies should just stop letting in goals. Seems to work pretty well for Vasy. I rooted for Kuch just so you know and I think Fleury deserved the award.

Notice how they didn't even start cheering until they heard the word goaltender. True hockey fans(citites) EI Boston, Chicago, Philly and all of Canada, would have known the name Ken Dryden and started cheering then ;)
@@zigfield723 I just don’t get this idea of “real fan vs not real fan”, as if there aren’t many hockey fans who are just more casual than others but still really enjoy the sport as it is today.
@@Stanislav31 . I know. But goalies and forwards are treated differently. Kuch matched Gretzky and Lemieux as the only forwards to get 30 plus points in back to back seasons in the playoffs. Not a small feat. Vasy did deserve it, but so did Kuch.
@@chelious1973 I'm with you, I thought Kuch earned it more. I think the fact that Vasy was the first to play in all games in two cup runs gave him the edge in judges eyes.
