With tons of new shows coming out every season, there's not always a lot of time to rewatch anime. IGN Anime Club discusses their favorite shows to rewatch.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Hunter x Hunter, Parasyte, Code Geass, Attack on Titan, Kill La Kill, One Piece, Bleach, Steins' Gate, Future Diary, Dragonball Z
+FSousA7X I watched the Anime like 4 months ago, and got totally addicted to it. But there are so many good animes I can't waste time rewatching some of them ^^
João Pedro Freitas Haha yeah there are lots of good anime but eventually you'll come to a point where you realise most of them are just the same recycled ideas. This doesn't mean they aren't entertaining but if you're anything like me you'll get bored of watching the same old thing. That's when I really learnt to appreciate fma
Unlimited Budget works is still going on and does have the best Animation for any series I have every seen in my life. I thought Fate Zero had the best but UFO stepped it up even higher. When the Heaven Feels movies start to come out it will look god like most likely
4 Essential Anime for starters in my opinion (drama/film lovers): Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Samurai Champloo, Code Geass (Especially R2/Second Season) and then go from there with what you like.
Code Geas is one of thee most underapperciated animes of all time and so is Yu Yu Hakusho. Everyone should at least watch one of these or both of these shows.
Hunter x Hunter 2011, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Gintama, Steins;Gate, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Durarara are all great anime's to watch and rewatch.
Bolt Uzumaki Depends on what you consider good. I, personally, dislike "read the manga" endings, and Berserk ended pretty much on the biggest plot twist the manga had to offer.
Raphael Schwarz everyone has there opinion but I personally think beserk is the greatest anime I've ever seen. Might be one of my favorite pieces of art period.
Miranda ( i agree that the first season of YuGiOh wasnt the best but the rest was pretty cool did u watch all the yugioh episodes (of the first of the series) or just the first season
+♡sp0on♥ - I have. I first seen it as a kid. I'm not sure what my reaction to Yu Yu Hakusho was back then (I did like it back then but didn't care too much). Then when I started watching anime online, I gave Yu Yu Hakusho a go to revisit my memories and it's a lot more than awesome than I remembered and it still feels awesome and hyped each time I did a Yu Yu Hakusho marathon since then. Very underrated anime. :3
For the past couple years its been Lucky Star. When i first watched it I didn't really get most of the references but still enjoyed the characters, but as i've gotten more and more into anime and learn more about some classic shows and anime tropes I keep finding new parts to enjoy. Its really an anime that keeps giving me something new every time I watch it.
I only have two anime's that I will re-watch and those are FMA and Wolf's Rain, though Wolf's Rain is hard to find since I can't really find a place that it is streaming....sadly.
Yu Yu Hakusho hands down. I take it out and rewatch it every couple of years. I originally started watching it in High School and have repurchased the series a couple of times. Classic anime.
Why do people not like SAO? It got me into anime. Why are you guys hating on it? Its not a dumb or corny show, just a little different. What is it that makes you guys dislike it so much?
FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Planetes, Lain, Samurai Champloo. Definitive classics that never grow old on me. I just saw the first season of Sword Art Online, and that will probably be a newer anime I'll want to rewatch in the future.
attack on titan damn, can't get enough!! I just recently finished SAO (I, II) and i totally rewatch the first season, So far I seen, Naruto, Code Geass, attack on titan, SAO, tokyo ghoul, One punch man, and some more, I'm looking forward to watching some more anime, so guys Recommend a good one?
Code Geass is a definite Re-Watch. Epic mech battles, very likable characters, superb story, HUGE ending(in both seasons). The anime is one of the best anime to this date. Still waiting for season 3. I don't care what you guys say, I won't lose faith in R3.
For me in this case are Shin Sekai Yori, Anohana and FMA:Brotherhood. Although Shin Sekai Yori is very recent i have watched it a lot just by its deep thematic elements that the anime has and it will always be a must for me.
i rewatched the entire of Ghost Hunt about 2 or 4 times... Yakumo Psychic Detective was also a rewatch for me and finally Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro (did you notice the pattern?) I am a weirdo xD
Any suggestions? Vampire Hunter D and Bloodlust are my favorite. I'm not huge into anime. I've enjoyed FLCL, Berserk, FMA: Brotherhood, First Two seasons of Bleach (That's all I saw), some Inuyasha, Some movie about Cloud Cities and giant bugs or something lmao, etc. Never got into Death Note, Naruto, etc. Attack on Titan, Dragonball, and Sailor Moon were interesting. I'm not into high school, sports, just romance, or most non fiction. I love demons and evil, gothic looking old 80s and 90s style. Like Vampire Hunter D. So give me a few good ones.
I watched every episode of Yu-Gi-Oh in my 20's with my mom who was in her 50's. I didn't live with her but we would call each other every Saturday morning after the show. R.I.P. Saturday morning cartoons.
As of recently my re watched anime is Gundam Build Fighters(season 1 & season try) thanks GundamInfo !!! but yes code geass, cowboy bebop, big 0, gundam, evangelion, read or die ova, hellsing ova, eureka 7, detective conan often rewatches.
FMA and FMA: Brotherhood are my favorite animes and I've watched them 3 times already since Jan. 2014 and plan on watching it for the 4th time this summer. My plan is to watch them 2 times every year
I feel like the anime 'Get Backers' had a lot of replay value, not my most preferred rewatchable anime, but since no one said it so far I feel it needed some love.
Falcovsleon21 Its good for one time watching, but totally not worth rewatching. The only reason to watch it again is for the pretty visuals on some of the episodes, but not worth to watch the whole thing again.
I actually liked Zankyou but the ending still hurts, i almost cried but i resisted. Too bad there were only 11 episodes so the Lisa character wasn't as flashed out as it was expected.
Guilty crown is shitty version of Code Geass. I say this because it has the some of same talent from code geass but none of the motivation or heart of code geass.
Otk_Obelisk That's because the writer who wrote Code Geass was the co director of Guilty Crown. The first writer of Guilty Crown also assisted in writing of Code Geass .
dertdog50 I'll assume you're talking about anime that are only 1 season, despite there being more content available. - When a manga becomes very popular, the producers will come to some sort of agreement with an animation studio for the anime adaptation. Typically, what this agreements involves is that - if viewership or sales of that first season are high enough, then they will continue to produce more episodes and seasons. You may be wondering, why it is that so many fantastic anime only get one season, like deadman wonderland or btoom for example. This is because the market for anime is mainly based in Japan and they (because of cultural differences) have very different concepts about what is considered 'good' entertainment. Thus, you see a massive flux of magic girl shows being produced and fewer dark/gritty shows. It's a shame but all fans can do, is choose to purchase and fund the production of the better ones and hope there will be other seasons.
What Robert said or if the manga gets cancel or if the anime catches up to the manga. If the anime catches up to the manga the anime studio usually creates its own story like how they did fma and just end it there with one season.
Otk_Obelisk It's only six episodes long and it is not only worth rewatching, it's almost necessary. You have to watch it all the way through to get it at all and you have to watch it multiple times to fully and truly understand it simply due to its obscurity and completely unique story telling.
Joseph DeMille yeah lol that's not only anime haven't got around to finishing. Big O Cowboy beebop Monster Ghost in shell series not the movie. I'm definitely going to fine the time this summer.
What about kikiader or better man? I liked soultaker when tech TV was a thing. To answer the question I watched Fooly cooley like a dozen times short and sweet. Truly epic
Yu Yu Hakusho is my all time favorite anime. great dub, an awesome storyline (no filler) with tons of action, adventure, comedy, romance and of course a badass spirit detective with the strongest crew and amazing friends on his side. I can watch it and never get tired of it.
The JuanTrueKaiser Says someone who haven't watched it. Far fetched and ignorant :D If it copied LoGH then why is CG so critically acclaimed and legendary compared to your sh!t??
Simplicity Strength I have watched it. Twice actually. (I have now told u this twice actually) And yes, it did not copy logh per say but it is nothing more than a nonsensical attempt at storytelling with similar plot lines. As for your question, you do realize Code Geass is not critically acclaimed? No mature critic gives it a decent score, and as Literature major I understand why. Show Code Geass to anyone familiar with novels (the medium where most good stories are told anyway) and they would laugh at it and you. LoGH is one of the most acclaimed any of all time. It is the greatest space opera ever told perhaps only tied with Babylon Five. Popularity has nothing to do with how good it is. Jurassic World is now the highest grossing film ever but that still doesn't change the fact it's narrative is bullshit and seems like it was written by an amateur. Even the dinosaurs are underwhelming compared to much older documentaries like Walking with Dinosaurs for Christ's sake.
@@TheJuanTrueKaiser Stop trying to edgy, dude. It's not funny. Say what you want about Code Geass because there are many proof that many critics gave it a critical acclaim. Just search google and boom, there's your answer unless you are actually searching all the negative reviews of Code Geass which are pretty few because I've searched it
I keep re-watching anime called "Chuukan Ichiban" or Cooking Master Boy (in english) just because it the first anime that actually make me hungry every time I watch it :D
Last exile, Beck: Mongolian Chip Squad, Ruroni Kenshin, and Cowboy Bebop are go to rewatches. Also just introduced my son to One Piece and Dragonball Z recently.
As long as a series isn't overly long I'll usually try to give it a re-watch (sorry DBZ, Hajime no Ippo, etc) Those longer series are usually a one and done.
Gintama Code Geass Berserk 1997 Steins Gate Monogatari Series Coboy Bebop Samurai Champloo Hunter x Hunter 2011 Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Parasyte HM: Death Note, Fate Zero You can't go wrong with these amazing anime ;)
List of anime I commonly rewatch: - All Digimon series as a marathon - Yū Yū Hakusho - Street Fighter II V - Death Note - Konjiki no Gash Bell!!/Zatch Bell! (then I would continue off with the manga since the anime's incomplete)
Code geass.. I came here for it but what I get?? Code geass is a show I have rewatched more then any anime. The story element and main character as a pro/antagonist is great! With mecha enhancements along the way is great!
Currently rewatching: Inuyasha Earlier this year: - Dragon Ball (classic) - Escaflowne - Armittage III Maybe next: - Yu Yu Hakusho and yes, i like to rewatch cover to cover
My rewatch list isn't too horribly large: Accel World, Hokuto no Ken, Souten no Ken, Amagami SS ( and + ), Guilty Crown, Asura Cryin', C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control, Durarara, Ano Natsu de Matteru, Katanagatari, and Saint Seiya ( original )
If there is nothing on late night TV for me I'll plug in an old anime that I don't mind watching again while trying to fall asleep. Ill watch the new stuff During the daytime after catching up on my dvr of TV shows that I record.
My animes worth re watching are Black Lagoon, Madoka Magica, Attack on Titan, Akame Ga Kill, Mirai Nikki,Tokyo Ghoul, Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend Of Korra ( cartoons )
