I had a feeling something was off with Shintaro's movement of his cards. Now I know that his tears wasn't that of disappointment, but of guilt.

In Yugioh people get game losses for really minor things. Cheating happens but I'd say it's not nearly as prevalent as in Pokemon.

I think your videos absolutely show that the Pokemon Company is a little more about getting the views for their products via these players, compared to outing cheaters/hackers and then having no one to stream with, because that would cut out about 80% of the competitive players in VGC and TCG. It's like the problem has gotten so deep that the entire thing needs to be reset

Everything said in this video is true, and I definently don't wanna defend Shintaro, but Tord should've shuffled the deck more during the 'insufficient randomization' with the custom catcher. The Pokémon Company encourages people at these huge tournaments to shuffle their opponents deck, as well as cutting it afterwards. Again, no defense, but Tord should pay more attention to his opponents play.

I'm not saying the allegations in this video are wrong, but do keep a few things in mind: In the Pokemon TCG community, it's been a consistent truth that Japanese players tend to be penalized much more often for insufficient randomization. This is often due to the way they shuffle, which almost never involves riffle/mash shuffling, so when they get to worlds, they often don't know/aren't used to the requirements. That's more of a cultural thing, and if you look at any videos promoting the TCG in Japan (there are commercials of an example game with a new set's cards), that is how the actors shuffle. Although to be fair, Shintaro has been to worlds many times, so he should be more aware, but this could still be a factor. My other point, specifically about the slow play penalty when promoting blacephalon in the finals is that that was by no standards an easy decision. If you listen to the commentators, they were also struggling to figure out what was the right play in that specific situation. The reason was that if he promotes blacephalon and hits 3 (I think) more energy he wins, but if he doesn't, his opponent will be able to just knock out his blacephalon next turn to win. If he promoted naganadel though, he 100% would not have been able to win as he would have to retreat the naganadel, leaving him 1 energy short of the knock out, but the benefit is that unless Henry had 2 custom catchers to attack blacephalon, he would have another turn to try again. So basically in that moment he had to commit to one risk, either promote blacephalon and risk missing the KO, or promote naganadel and risk Henry having catchers. Either one was equally risky and he had to choose which risk to take, which is why I think that he took so long to promote Blacephalon. If I was in that situation, I also would have thought about that decision for a longer than normal time. So, basically, my point here is, I don't think that the amount of time he took here is any indication as to whether he cheated or not, as basically any other top player would have most likely agonized just as much over that decision. Whether he did or not is up for debate, but the fact that he took time to decide here isn't really helpful in determining his integrity as it was in fact a very hard decision that required a lot of thought. TL;DR: As for the actions in top 4, that is something that is up for interpretation (like in the video) about whether he cheated or not, but keep in mind Japan's different culture when it comes to shuffling. But the slow play in finals when promoting a pokemon should not be incriminating as that was a genuinely hard decision with different risks associated with what he promoted that would have left most players in that position thinking for a long time too.

Ya in Yugioh stacking your deck would be a game loss, not nessasarilly a match loss unless its happened beforehand.

Card games are filled with cheaters in general. (Years of experience in Yugioh and Cardfight! Vanguard) it’s safe to say Pokémon TCG is no different specially with something as big as Pokémon. Truly disgusting people need to cheat at a children’s card game.

Imho, the constant ADHD hyperactive hand-shuffling should be considered "Use of dubios game actions intended to deceive your opponent into making misplays" because it's freaking annoying, and doesn't do ANYTHING of value except grinding on your opponent's nerves, riling them up and distracting them. What's it gonna do? Magically changing your cards in hand for better ones?

Sigh...come on community DAMN. Learn already! I remember awhile back when I tried to get back into the tcg scene I went to a card shop in the local area. Apparently a tourney had just ended; the winner was some girl with a Flareon EX fire deck. Alot of people had a hard time against her in and out of this tourney. I got there, sat down at a table and fidgetted around with my cards. I sat a ways away down from her and her fanboys. She overheard me talking to the judge that I was new there, so she went to say hi to me and wanted to play me. So we did....and I won both times. So her "Team Yell" possee start getting tilted, being like "who the fuck are you", "your deck is trash", "you're irrelevant" etc..and I just smh. That judge asked me if I was going to attend the next tourney, and I said something like "No since the people here are disrespectful asshats". I packed my stuff and never came back. The judge looked at the people like "wtf guys", and the ONLY legitimately nice person was the girl that I played against. So yeah, thanks Team Yell. EDIT: Yeah this doesn't have anything to do with hacking, just toxicity.

I would've liked to think that what happened last year was an anomaly, but when even a former world champion starts acting shifty to stay ahead of the game... I've generally held world champions in high regard, but after this I'm more unsure.

Hell I’n surprised he didn’t throw in Proxy Cards just to sweeten his Cheater Pie. -.- What a fucking disgrace, cheating at World Finals. I have nothing but contempt for people who are that vain.

Not only was I glad as hell when the judges FINALLY gave this man the loss he deserved, but I am SORELY disappointed to learn he’s still getting his deck immortalized in this year’s Worlds decks. He should have gotten DQed before he even made Top 8. He doesn’t deserve more publicity than he’s already gotten for his egregious behavior.

i kinda feel i was actually more on the judges side then shintoro, just because of his history and the warnings he got for slow play, just becuse he was warned once. You would think if he got called once he'd learn not to do it again the next time. But Yh once a cheater always a cheater but i do understand, i can see why people feel bad for him if he was crying, but I don't think the language barrier had anything to do with it,even though it's seems like that could be the case, if they were to harsh, espiessialy if they didn't know his cheating history, but Yh I just felt the judges just done thier job, I just think Yh probably he cried cuz he lost, but I just think it be avoided if he'd just listened perhaps he might not of won and the other guy Yh he deserved to win more, if but I do understand why you'd side with the community on this occasion since o know you don't fully trust what goes on with espiesially in vgc but Yh I just think the judge just doing thier job, on this occasion even though it wasn't the right way at least it was something and got punished over it. Yeah, I feel him moving his hands realy fast and then slowing Down is pretty suspicious if he moving his hands fast and then taking minute and half. I just think if he's that fast why would he need to slow but Yh I kinda think moving your hands that fast and that skilled, idk kinda be little bit easier to cheat if they moved then that fast But Yh, not realy know much about tcg but Yh reordering it and put the card you wanted at the back does look like cheating, also whenhe got it out I dunno loojed a bit sly to me. But Yh he should been disqualified if that's what should of happened. Yeah I don't feel they should be so soft, But Yh I don't think they were being too harsh they told him once I think think doing twice pretty much right to get pusinished on that. I just thinkit is his own fault for cheating goes to show how much these payers don't wanna lose, But I can't believe they risk that, it's pretty embarssing them becoming a cheater I just think what the point I think just playing naturally and if you beat the cheaters more the better. I just think it proves you probably have the natural edge when it comes to play Pokemon and I like that :3 (Sorry this is like a day late)

I was thinking yesterday that, i gonna start again collect pokemon cards, trade them, and build decks that, i can join to tournaments in future. But, i forgot that, there is always someone that cheat, and i don't wanna face those, so i'm not so sure anymore, that i wanna start to collect those cards. In Pokemon TCG Online, good thing is, that there cheating is really hard, if even a possible, and sometimes some companies can together, make big tournaments.
