Hi Guys,
So you have passed the interview, got placed, got your contract and it is now time to apply for your Visa to come to South Korea!
In todays video I tell you everything you need to know about the VISA application process and what not to do!

More info on the VISA:
If you can’t go to Pretoria yourself the embassy has listed the below as your options:
Applications can be submitted in person or with a third party (courier service. family member, Friend) etc. .
Please note that the Embassy strongly advises all applicants that will use a courier service to make sure that the courier service will allow you to send cash.

Current Office hours:
Visa application submission: 08:00-11:30(No submissions will be accepted after 11:30) Visa collections 08:00 - 11:30
Once the visa process is completed the applicant will receive a call from the Embassy.
The Applicant should arrange to collect their passport and visa if they can't come to collect in person. (The person that are collecting on your behalf should give us your full name and surname or give us a copy of your passport in order to collect)

Hi Sejal, hope you had a good day at work! 🌸 EPIK doesn’t give an exact date hey. They just say as soon as you pass your interview start sending your docs. The sooner you do that you sooner you get placed. Hello Annah, if you’re sending your documents via postnet do you still need a notice of appointment? And does the contract need to be signed by both you and the school or just you since you have the copy?

Notice of appointment is needed👌🏾 and only your signature is cool. At least this was the case during my time. You can double check on the visa sight - it has the list of documents needed on there 🤓

Thank you for this video, appreciate it. I read in the videos description box that a third party (friend) can submit your visa application on your behalf, do you know if the third party needs to submit anything as proof of relationship?

Hi Anele, no they would be treated like a courier service. When you get there to submit they don’t ask any questions. They take the docs and the cash. They also check that all the required docs are there 😋

Pls do clarify whether after dirco you must do sk embassy for translation of docs or legalization then only after do you apply for visa. And whether you also need the contract for translation or legalization at sk embassy. Or does the step not exist at all. So after dirco it's straight to getting a job contract contract and then visa stage

Hi Tipief, if you are asking in terms of teaching in Korea 🙂 then: After you are done with DIRCO where your documents got legalised (there isn’t a need for them to be translated) you will then wait to get a contract for your school or EPIK. Once you have this contract you then apply for your VISA at the embassy. For the VISA application you will need your contract.

How long did it take you to get your documents from DIRCO and how long did it take to hear back from Epik after you sent your documents to Korea?

Hi Skhumbuzo, I had my interview 20 October. 3 days later got feedback I passed with my offer. Signed my application form and couriered it with the rest of my documents to Korea. Only heard back on 26 December - I was sent my placement and contract.

As for DIRCO it took 6-8 weeks

Hi there Annah🌸 I know you’re no longer in South Korea but may I please ask..🥹 So when you apply for your visa, do you use the contract & NOA that was sent to you by Mr. A via email or do you wait for your actual contract that will be couriered to you then you go apply for the Visa? I hope I make sense🥹

Hey hun, when I applied I used the ones he sent me. we were never sent physical documents. I merley printed off what he sent, signed it and applied for my visa. I then needed to courier a signed copy back to Mr A who sent it to EPIK.
