Full Blog Post: coachhelder.com/aqua-training... Coach Helder reviews the Aqua Training Bags and explains why he feels that they are a great addition to his training center.
I thought the same thing. He’s another RU-vid martial arts “expert” who can’t even hit a bag properly. Did you see all of the special forces crap on the wall? 🤣
My Wife bought a 120lb bag for me. Had seen Pat McNamara using one. Talked her into getting it as a super early Christmas present. Looking forward to using it. Looks like they changed the shackle that comes with the bag. Mine came with a stainless steel shackle. Read through the comments. Glad to hear that yours are holding up after 4+ years of use.
Nice review, would I be able to hang using any chain? Or should the be the aqua bag specific chain. I’ll be installing on a smaller beam in my attic and I just want to make sure it won’t do any damage
Thank you for the feedback and the compliment, Adrian, It is very appreciated! As far as the hardware, I went to home depot and talked to one of their employees. Well, actually one that knows their shit, which is sometimes hard to find. I am going right into a solid wood beam with the eyelet screws as you saw in my video. He recommended (2) eyelet screws that were rated at 3000+ pounds each. I then asked about a chain to connect the aqua bag hardware (which is good to go) to the eyelets. I got about 3 feet worth of heavy duty chain and (2) heavy duty D-Rings to fasten to the eyelets and the chain. The hardware wasn't very expensive and so far so good. The setup works well and I also have peace of mind with safety concerns for me and my clients. I hope that helps and let me know how you made out. Good luck and thanks again! -Hg
Hello Daniel, the teardrop bag does not have any added air. But the other "silhouette" target did get some air in order to fill out the head part. I actually added the air after I filmed the review. I hope that helps. -Hg
I bought a buoy instead. 1/3 of the price. I also use these on the ground with sledgehammers, and you can also practice baseball swings against them. Also great for strongman lifts. They're built to withstand boats hashing against them, they're pretty much indestructible on land
Hello king, I have no idea but many people on here seem pretty confident with that approach. Resourcefulness is always a great idea, in my book. I'd say give it a try. It seems relatively cheap and if you are handy with projects, you don't have much to lose. Me on the other hand... I'd probably end up flooding my house and pissing my wife off even more than my usual routine. I've learned to pick and choose my battles over the years. 😂 If you give it a try, definitely share your info on here with us. It will be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year! -Hg
Appreciate the review. I’ve owned both the 12” and 18” for several years. I’ve also owned the comparable boat bouy versions (same sizes) as well. The Aquabag version are better quality, but nothing the average Joe will notice. the smaller sizes go to the Aquabag as the price difference is minimal and they look much better (better build as well). The larger sizes get quite spendy in the Aquabag range, though. I’m a big guy and have been pounding the snot out of that 18” boat buoy and it’s still running strong. Much cheaper as well. Food for thought.
Hi. Can I ask do you get the same kinda cardio workout from the buoy / aqua bag as a regular heavy bag workout? I’m torn between what to go for. Thanks!
Helpful tip.. get a brass valve to put at the end of your hose. Then connect the fill spout to the end of the valve. That way you don't need someone to turn the water on and off.
I’m going to buy one where do you recommend i go? And if I have big hands do I need any specific type of boxing gloves or wraps? Thanks so much the video was very informative!
Hello KnowstradamuS, thank you for sharing your feedback; It is appreciated! In the video description, there are links to the Aqua Bags in case you decide to purchase. Here is the link to my blog post: coachhelder.com/aqua-training-bags-review/ I would definitely recommend wraps and/or gloves when using these bags for non-weapon applications. I hope that helps and thanks again. -Hg
I'm definitely happy with these Aqua Bags. I have put them through the paces and so far, so good. Let me know what choice you end up making, Tomatocan. -Hg
Hello Monica, the height totally depends on your preference and of course, available space; so you do have some flexibility. According to the manufacturer, the Bruiser bag is supposed to mimic is 6'1" male, with an average build. I hung both of my bags with those specs in mind. I hope that helps! -Hg
I’ve never seen anyone practice their “weapons” on heavy bags or especially water bags 😂 I see why you need those weapons though cause damn that striking is abismal
This 21" version is about 190 lbs, Brandon. Here are some more specs that I posted on my blog: coachhelder.com/aqua-training-bags-review/ I hope that helps. -Hg
How does it still last? What one are you using? The ball or the body? What weapons are you using on it, and are you using full force? And how much do you weigh? That may give me kinda a power bases
How often we need to change water in the bag? For move another place or transportation to gym, how properly to dry the bag ( if you had experience with that Coach)
Hello Gunko171, I have not had to fill them nor take them down. I would think the process is quite simple. Just reverse the order that we use for filling the bags. I would just siphon the water out and then bring it to it's next location and repeat the filling process. I hope that helps. -Hg
@@CoachHelder it's same how I was thinking, just making sure before buying. Thank you sir, for taking time to answer me. PS. did not expect you to respond so quickly)👍
So I was debating between the 18” and 15” bag for my garage. I know 120 vs 75 pounds isn’t that much of a difference in weight. I’m 5”11 weight 188 . I have a two car garage but i wanted to use only half of the garage for it cause my car goes into the other side. Which one would you suggest for me and why?
It's all about your personal preference and space. Seems like you would be fine with either one. I put all the info I have into this review. The rest is your call. Good luck. -Hg
How have you managed to get the full tear shape? I slightly inflated it as I didn't have a perfectly fitting nozzle. 've now filled it with water and it has its creases and not the full tear shape. What's the secret in getting that full shape? - I don't think water pressure alone will do it.
I really like them both, especially for separate applications. When it comes to empty hand striking, I would say the 21. If it's strictly weapons application, I prefer the Bruiser. I hope that helps, Elijah. -Hg
I was doing uppercuts on my boxing gyms aqua bag, and it literally exploded after i let out all my emotions😂 i really miss the aqua bag in the gym lol.
@@imadeyoureadthis1500 if it did happen got to remember its a gym, the gym itself likely takes no care of the equipment, then you take into account the idiots that go to gyms, there could've been someone intentionally cut the bag most of the depth, or even doing some dumb shit hitting the bag with something they should not, ruining the integrity of the bag. Having said that, I agree he's lying.
What's the difference between this bag and the hydro bag in terms of feeling and Softness?? I have elbow tendonitis so IAM looking for a softer bag that is easy on my elbows.. looking for one over all bag that my son can punch and kick..he is a 17 year old wrestler who used to finght in muay thai and did boxing too so he will be using it for kicks too
Hello Marco, I do not have any experience with the hydro bag, so I cannot provide any additional info pertaining to comparrison. As far as feel and applications for you and your son, it's truly about personal preference. What is great for one guy, sucks for the other, you know the drill. See if you can get out to a local gym that may have these bags or the hydro bag you referenced. Give them a try before you invest some good cash into the process. The last thing that you want to do is buy one of these bags, hang and fill it... then find out that it's not right for your needs. It will be a real pain in the ass to reverse that process to send it back. Keep me posted on what you end up doing. -Hg
Hello Adski, The Blood Red Bag is 21' and weighs 190lbs. The other bag, the Bruiser, weighs in at 160lbs and mimics a 6' 1" male silhouette. I hope that helps and enjoy your weekend. -Hg
Hello Osmel, there are various sizes and weights when it comes to the Aqua Bags. Here is a link to my blog post where you can find more info and links to the Aqua Bags with further specs: coachhelder.com/aqua-training-bags-review/ Let me know if that helps. -Hg
I filled it to just below the filling hole to avoid spillage, Del. On the Bruiser model, I capped off the head part with compressed air. I hope that helps. -Hg
This water bubble punching bag costs over $100 dollars. If you go out and buy a contractor grade garbage bag, 42 gallon, which holds over 150lbs very easily, you spend maybe $1 per bag. It is super ghetto, but it works exactly the same.
Thanks ZE4DEX_ 4DX, Good Eye! I have a video on my uses for a shemagh. If you want to check it out, I will link it below. Let me know what you think if you watch it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ONCwOlYR_0Y.html -Hg
I have a few shemagh's; I wear them quite often and find them ideal for most outdoor activities. You can find them on Amazon and most online shops that sell tactical gear. The 2 that I am using in this video were gifts from a couple of UAE police officers. I spend a few years teaching courses to police in the UAE. tinyurl.com/y62ontkx Amazing people, incredible experience. I am very lucky. -Hg
@@CoachHelder my boxing coach has a factory and its winter in Australia so there not much we can do ! But mind you in 2 months the WEATHER will start to rise !
Wow... I had no idea, Hugh. Let me see your tutorial on building the water buoy training setup and we can compare reviews/products once yours is live. Since "I don't know so much" enlighten me with your wisdom. I'm sure we can all learn from your expertise. I had no idea that they were just water buoys. I feel so dumb now. Please itemize your expenses in building your setup so that we can all save a ton of money on new DIY training bags; courtesy of your extensive knowledge, as compared to mine. Please let me know when your video is live so that I can share it on here. What is your timeline? For water buoy expert like you, should be a couple of day's, right? We're all eagerly waiting... Thanks in advance. -Hg
@@CoachHelder A couple of days? That’s rookie numbers. I see you’re still operating in that frame of mind....the “I don’t know dick” kind. Your sarcasm attempts need some work, though. They’re way too bloated, lazy, and stupid. Just like your face. Cheers!
@@CoachHelder That wasn’t my real reply. I apologize, Coach Helder. I was having a laugh. Clearly I need your teachings and guidance. But, my buoy knowledge is on point like you said. And if you were serious, I’ll happily make a presentation to present to your ever growing class of students. I do wonder why you didn’t respond to the guy who said that your punching is hilarious, but yet you responded to me and my buoy? Hmmm, makes a little boy wonder.
It's all good Hugh, well... now I'm a bit conscious of my fat face. I need a longer beard, I guess. 🤣 To be honest, I had a couple beers, checked my comments for some dumb reason, and replied. Generally, I don't reply unless it's something valid, where I can help. But this one was all timing. But hey, I wasn't too rude. As far as the punching... Man, what can I say. I'm not a boxer, I don't train for sport. Even though I respect the Art, of course! So when ppl call me out on boxing, well, I'm not boxing. What am I going to do? Challenge the trolls to a duel? So I just let it go. It's a review for Aqua- bags, for F's sake. Not a punching tutorial where I can explain what I am doing. As far as the contraption with a buoy, I'm all about DIY. If you can seriously put something together, that would be badass and you can probably sell the PDF or video on here for a few bucks. TONS of people would be interested from what I see. Be safe, thanks for the fun "drunken" banter. Stay in touch! 🍻 -Hg
Lmfaooo. You could have gotten the A4 bouy (180lbs) from Amazon for $100 Exactly the same material and the bouy has a better plug to keep the water in.
Thanks for the heads-up, zorro 84. I'm happy with my purchase, they have served me well over the years and are as good now as they were on day 1. Let me know how the A4 buoy works out for you. When you can, post a video of your review of the A4 buoy so we can all learn from your experience via your detailed review. -Hg
@@CoachHelder .. Oh Yeah hey how's it goin' , TO ME , it is gonna break if i kick it hard . But then again I've broke the chains on heavy bags before , snapped them clean in half .. I'm larger than you . Guess I should have made that known first .
@@CoachHelder I will say that it is a good training aid for simulating the feel of slapping or snapping .. just not a super great choice for a heavyweight or for kicks .
@@davidfriend1919 It won't break, these are made for boats crashing into them, I doubt you kick has the force of a multiple thousand kilo boat crashing into it. Mike Tyson hitting it didn't even do anything to it.
Very cool, Christopher! We should definitely hook up for a beer when this shit is over. We seem to have a similar sense of humor. You have my contact info. Be safe, I wish you the best & CHEERS, my friend! -Hg
