I've been watching these build videos for years but seldom do I see such a well measured, calculated and clean building process. You're a great inspiration, Tom 👍🏽 Greetings from Qatar
Trailing link is used on some aircraft when you need a lot of travel due to rough airstrips or you regularly slam it down like the F-18. Trailing link also naturally rides over bumps due to its geometry - a lot less stress on the gear.
Are you going to drill weep holes in all your flat spaces for draining water after you wash out all the sand and dirt? Love watching what you do. So impressed with your decision making, problem solving and engineering. Also you are a very lucky man having such a great wife who helps so much and has a great attitude.
I saw you putting that shock in backwards right away and I was thinking: What the hell are you doing? LOL It's looking great. I really like the choices you've made and watching the build. Thanks for sharing.
the bed fabrication has been my fave DigDug video so far anyone else notice the side profile of the truck resembling the cybertruck profile? truth be told no cybertruck can be as capable or as cool as this truck.
i do a lot of wood truck bed and trailer rebuilds. oak is the norm but i've done one in mahogany with bronze carriage bolts that had some pretty nice inlays all finished with varnish, so dont limit yourself
The through bolts at the top of the shocks look awfully small diameter to carry all the load of the suspension? Great content Tom Tom. Look forward every weekend to your build video content! Really appreciate your explanations and technical details.
Pulling the vehicle onto the trailer: Curious why you rigged through the "Recovery Ring/Snatch Block" rather than around the outside in the Grove. I have one that i haven't used yet. Is it hard to keep the line in the grove?
Recently Matt did something to compress a shock spring with a ratchet strap. Good thinking. OK, Co2 for inflation? If that leaks into the air thats bad, right?
Is your wife a school teacher in k12? I’m laughing at you and esp Matt and his gang. None of them are able to use the word “run” correctly. Your Dig-Dug probably hasn’t hit them in the head as a criticism or suggestion. They’re gong to get whatever “ran.” Same over at Chad’s shop. Can’t use “run” correctly. I’m amazed that Dig-Dug is actually going to get a good bed. How are you going to line and waterproof?
Tom, you need to watch this Off Road recovery channel- Matt's Off Road Recovery- maybe you've heard of it...... Anyways on one of Matt's recent videos, he uses a Matt strap to compress a front shock spring for a Tacoma. You should maybe check that out for future reference. Keep up the excellent content, can't wait to see Dig Dug out on the trails/ rocks!
