My first high level dino was a carno. I was so proud of myself. I named him Carno Asada. After many, many hours together, the game glitched and he died. I still can't find it in my heart to get another one. :(

One small thing i noticed that made me laugh was seeing a Carno swim. Look at their litte arms while they swim.

I like using carnos if I have to travel through the redwoods :) one of my favourite mounts tbh I love the new updated ark basics btw, I used the originals so much when I was first starting out :D thank you!

The bleed can be clutch on those things sometimes. Lol. Had a few times I was on a carno and thought I'd lose a fight, but the bleed got the win basically last second.

I was going to go tame a Raptor across the river in the spot between South Zone 1 and West Zone 1 where the swamp meets that open area. Went up the hill because I had seen a couple raptors there from my starter base across the river. Hopped on a rock to see if I could see any of them from a safe spot and had a random caro run at me from the woods. I just casually shot at it frogetting I had tranq arrows equipped and knocked it out and tamed it by complete accident. Named em spike and conquered the world.

Unfortunately, the carno's stomp sounds almost exactly like the stomping of a carbonemys when it's right next to you. LOL!

Carnos and especially theri spawns very frequently on west beaches. Carno often west grasslands

Carnos are actually very good for base defense. I managed to kill alpha carnos and alpha raptors with just a non bred carno, the knock back in the attacks carno does, allow him to avoid a lot of damage, similar to what you can do with a trike, and bleeding truly destroys alpha dinos. However, for Alpha rexes, I don't think you can kill them with an unbred carnos.

On SE my carno was my resource caravan security. Carno's breed and hatch fast, so getting a mutated one early game is pretty easy...and they'll beat the snot outta anything else on the map...besides rock golems or wyverns.

@@hugob9624 No, alpha rexes and gigas are just too much for a carno. Carnos have a chance if the alpha rex is low level, but Giga has too much damage, even bred rexes have problems against a giga.

Carnos are one of my top 3 favorite mounts to just go walkabout. On days when I don't feel like building or artifact hunting etc, I just hop on a Toast (shout out to gaming beaver for that name) and just go walking.

Carnotaurus are one of my favorites I wanna tame and maybe use in the Boss fights, but would Carnotaurus be good for a Boss fight tho?

I'd probably say so since they are relatively strong if mutated and bred to be very good, as well as the bleed I'm not sure if it affects bosses but I'm assuming so

Most bosses will ignore carnos if you are riding a Yutyrannus, their bleeding does not affect bosses, but still, carnos are good enough. Deynonichus are better for bosses besides their crappy stats.

The originals were recorded 3-4 years ago before the kibble rework and many of the tactics and uses for each dino has changed since then. Now that Ark 2 is coming out is the perfect time to get the overall basics for anyone just entering the game.
