Oh, my! I’m proud of LSU, and I’m a huge LSU fan, but I’m embarrassed at the underscoring of Arkansas’s floor and the over scoring of some of LSU’s beam. Sheesh! Thankfully, Arkansas’s beam scores were pretty fair, and LSU’s floor scores weren’t ridiculous. Congratulations to Jay Clark on his 100th victory!
I love both of these great teams but the overscoring of LSU and the underscoring of Arkansas was so obvious that it ruins the whole meet. It just really sux and undermines all of the gymnasts and the hard work they put in each meet!! The judging really hasn't changed regardless of the "new rules"... 🤦♀️😠
Thank you SO MUCH for posting these meets! My 2 favorite collegiate teams! Every team has an off night, and I'm really excited for the Arkansas Gymbacks this year. I feel judging was slightly skewed in favor of LSU, and I'm not impressed with the judging in Louisiana tonight. I'm very picky. I'm old and tend to critique strictly, but FAIRLY. Tonight's meet was missing both.
I think the LSU “stars” got over scored (Bryant & Finnegan) but many of their scores are what I would have given. Like Ballard and Jeffrey’s beam routines, cowan’s bars routine, and more. They were on fire tonight regardless of scoring.
Agreed. I saw a bit of over scoring but nothing that would remotely warrant the outrage here. For one thing, this films at a much better angle for meticulous viewing.
@@sydthesciencekid__129 I agree they need to be fired, because aside from Haleigh‘s floor score which was on point because she was outstanding, a lot of them got over scored
I watched it a meet today. I can’t remember which two teams it was oh it was Arizona and I don’t know whoever they were against and one of the girls from Arizona. Her bar routine was perfect and one judge gave her a 10 and the other one gave her a 9.85 I was like what the hell why aren’t they looking at the differences in scores and investigating.
Alexis Jeffree getting a 9.875 on bars with a short handstand and her legs being locked out on her dismount/ taking the step back pissed me off. This is getting ridiculous, and it’s affecting teams chances at making it to nationals.
So are we penalizing LSU for scores because of the judging. Yes I agree scores were off but don’t do that to the team and the program. Scoring is insane across the country period
@@shainawilliams225 Absolutely no one is blaming LSU. Every single person is talking strictly about the judges. Everyone knows it has nothing to do with the team or the athletes. It’s not their fault, but it still needs to be talked about.
I love LSU so so much, but I could tell something was off by the way that Jay didn't look happy. I think he knew some of the scores were a little inflated and I think he was sad for the adversity that he knew his girls were going to have to deal with.
KJ Johnsons vault shouldve had a 9.95, amari drayton and savannah schoenners vault scores were pretty accurate but Kiya and Haleighs scores are crazy, Kiyas vault shouldve been a 9.825 or 9.85 and Haleigh needs to stop leaning back in her vault she should just take a tiny step
Just have to say how much I enjoyed watching this meet all around from the announcers, the beam time judge (love that lady), and the way LSU is becoming the force we know they can be.
Man I'm impressed. I never knew this channel had so many professional gymnastics referees watching! Gotta love their passion though when they do speak up.
here's the deal; with the new landing deductions focusing on eliminating the "college stick", these amazing gymnasts like Haleigh and Konnor trying to finesse landings where they tilting and not showing control even if their feet don't move right away. Had Haleigh landed her vault, stood up, slid one foot back a bit to regain balance, then saluted and held it for 2 sec, I would've given her a 9.90. Because she tried to fake the stick while tilting backwards and then not even holding the salute, she incurred another 0.15 - 0.25 in deductions.
I feel like LSU's vault scores were all kinds of F'ed up. I gave KJ Johnson a perfect 9.950...and I don't even like her that much, meanwhile I gave Finnegan a 9.8; -0.10 for the step and -0.10 for not holding the salute, and I adore her. I gave Kiya a 9.850 because it had a lot of form issues and the hop. Haleigh...her foot form wasn't it tonight so I'd take a 1/2 tenth for that, but the big problem is the landing. She never stopped moving. She never showed a still/stable salute for the required sec. She landed and saluted as her body kept tilting backwards until she stepped to acknowledge the judges. I'm giving her a 9.800. Which is crazy because she could knock off a 10.0 any time she wants to.
i feel like some of their scores were underscored tonight and some were over tbh. KJ deserved a perfect 9.95 and Kiya was cheated on vault too. and Haleigh’s vault did not deserve a 10 from the one judge. idk. it’s just weird that it’s so inconsistent and i’m only on rotation 2 as i’m writing this.
@@hannahskillings1333 I agree with you about a few of their scores, including KJ’s vault! they were definitely overscored as a whole though, especially beam and floor, and their final score (198.475) is not only a program record but also the highest score for any team this year. I think they’re definitely national contenders, but I don’t think this meet merited that high of a score, even if it was a strong showing for them. also the scoring differential between LSU & Arkansas for equivalent routines was painful at times lol
I’ll start off by saying I am a Alabama fan but I went to Louisiana this weekend and watched this meet and Arkansas did not do well like they had a couple falls on bars I mean obviously if you watched it you know that but LSU was outstanding.
Genuinely so sick of hearing about livvy dunne. She has so many teammates who are better than she is and I’m just bored by her. She’s just a cute blonde. Cool, so impressive
I can no longer watch LSU at home. They are over scored EVERY time. when you have a clear hop on vault and receive a 10, it’s just ridiculous. When they get to NCAA championships, they will be rightfully scored.
Ugh, at least the back half of LSU on beam: so over scored. Ongoing bad joke up in here. I guess we're just ignoring blatant balance checks & form breaks when it comes to them! Good job rallying back after that first rotation, Hogs -- better luck next time.
