Just tell Arthur we love him and wish him well. Also remind him how blessed he is to have YOU! Yes, It’s so hard to not be depressed in todays times. But thinking of others close to us, family, friends, our fur babies, doing little kindnesses for others…send cards…gives me Joy! Just saying we need to love everyone we meet! My 16 year old granddaughter and I love Goodwill! And hail to the "linen, cotton" clothing. All that I can wear these days. Linen is expensive so finding a linen piece at a thrift store is like finding a gold mine. 😊 No polyester!! Never again. Love this video. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful wisdom. 😊🤗❤️

I enjoy thrift stores too! I don’t always find anything, but when I discover a well made blouse with a flattering color and shape, I buy it. I’ve lost a lot of weight so now am giving back my clothes that are in good shape. My daughter lives nearby so we do things together too. Life is good!

Yes, this too shall pass…my mantra thru thyroid cancer, breast cancer, and several squamous cell skin cancers….sounds awful, huh? But prayer gave me comfort and peace as I went thru treatment. I am very much over all that now. But, aging is not much fun in reality (lol) but as Sandra says try to be optimistic! Yes, this too shall pass. Get well soon🙏😍👍

I am 64 years old. But this morning I was asking myself was I supposed to have a child for the sake of my husband? Would he have lived longer if we had children? I am not a person of 'if not' as such but didn't know why I thought this way and today when I hear you saying in this video "... Quit blaming yourself for past things that have happened that is out of our control... ". This has comforted me much and come to my sense. Good morning from Ontario Canada Sandra, loved the opening of the video showing American thrift store, they are very different than Canadian, your styles and clothing very different , I love American stores and clothes, we do understand and respect Arthur’s privacy, this is your journey and your life we know Arthur is there so just let him know we care, and in this world I agree it’s so hard to be optimistic, I really only watch the news for the weather, and try and focus on my gardening and nature, I try very hard to stay away from negative issues and people, I have found due to Covid people are more cold and hurtful, I just want to respect and show kindness, animals give us unconditional love and they get it more than people, so I agree again animals have a beautiful spirit , thank you again for your Tuesday message, God bless❤️🇨🇦🙏💐🌻🌿🌺👼🏻

Hi Sandra........it is always wonderful to hear your soft tone voice giving us words of wisdom. I love the hints about thrift store shopping. You are so fortunate to have a daughter down there to shop and visit with. I really loved some of your items, the blue and white checked blouse really caught my eye. And I am eager to see your sweater. You know how tight things are right now and most likely will get worse before it gets better. So, I have decided to find a remote job (on the computer) to make ends meet and put a bit away just in case, or for something wonderful. However, as you said, things are only temporary. I just turned 78 and this new adventure sounds great to me. Crossing my fingers I can find something good. I never exdpected to go back to work, but it seems so many people are working from home, that it really makes sense to me. BTW>>>your hair looks beautiful, as does your make up. I've been very stressed about what is going on in our country, with this current administration. For me, the best way to beat stress, is to get creative. I sculpt, as a hobby, and it brings me a lot of joy. Currently I am sculpting 2 trees, from paper mache. They will be farely good size, and will stand on each side of my fireplace, in my foyer/sunroom. Thank you for sharing your comforting words today. The clothes you bought are lovely. I'm guilty of rehashing past stuff in my head which then sours or saddens my moods. I'm learning to understand they are just thoughts and old memories (which does play tricks on us as we don't always remember it exactly as it was 😉) You are 💯correct 'life is not static' & 'setbacks are temporary' ♥ and patting ourself on the back is a great thing - think of it as part of our self-care. I was laughing when you talked about your pet eyes looking at you thinking what can I do for you, my cat Stella looks at me each morning saying What can YOU do for me lol I have two goodwills I can shop in, one is better then the other, but many days I leave empty handed, but once in awhile I do find a treasure….I think Friday I am going to go to Goodwill now that I saw this video.. I used to work with a woman who was the snazziest dresser. I once asked her where she found her amazing clothes and she told me she never buys new. Instead she shops thrift stores! She said it takes some effort to find good clothing but it’s worth it. Very nice video Sandra.

Good Afternoon Sandra, Awesome advice. As my husband's full time caregiver for almost four years, there is no end to my stress. It finally caught up with me recently when I was hospitalized with what was suspected to be a stroke. Fortunately, all is well. You are right on about being optimistic. When I think of all the things that Tony and I can no longer do as a couple such as traveling and dining out, I focus on our lovely home environment that we can spend our days in and that I have been blessed with a wonderful aide to help with Tony. i I'm trying to simplify by reducing credit cards to only one, paying cash for groceries and small items to discourage impulse buying, and cutting my hair like I did years ago .. I think these small adjustments help to reduce all the noise around me. It's taken me a lifetime to acknowledge I can't control everything but I can keep my life simple and learn to enjoy nature and, as you say, be grateful for "what is." Thank you for all you do......to remind us of what's important.

I am an online clothing reseller on eBay.( I have a how to channel about it if anyone is interested) You have impeccable style and all the brands, fabric contents and styles that you chose are just so classic. What you said about saving the planet is right on...that is one of the reasons I resell! Lets keep it out of the landfills! The amount of used clothing out there is unbelievable!

I have resale stories. Years ago I worked at a vintage dress shop in Beverly Hills. The owner had various sources and I wore some of what I purchased there for years. We also sold some Victorian white dresses because some gals wore them for thier weddings. One day a gal came in the store and actually purchased a Victorian to wear to the Oscars.Bautiful things or classical styles are timeless. I would often splurge on a designer belt or scarf and wear them wirh my thrift shop dresses. I once purchased a beautiful pair of vintage shoes unworn at a thrift shop in Ohai Ca.for 70 cents. I was at the B.H.Health Club by invitation ( too posh for my young budget) when a lady asked where I purchasd my Ohai shoes . I stated by saying that I only paid seventy and before I had a chance to say cents she said "Oh seventy dollars ,what a steal! Haha.

Good morning another thought provoking video.. I still haven’t figured out who I am at 71. What’s the old joke; if you want to make God laugh make a plan, lol I just turn my life over to the Lord each day and let him lead. That doesn’t mean that I can’t make any plans, but I what learned this far in life with my husband’s illness and then ultimately death, you only can do a minute at a time sometimes that’s all we can grasp. I've never heard that saying and all my life I have loved marbles....as a child and still today as a 63 year old and I love you!

i'm really admired for your knowledge, your wisdom, your inspire, your enegy that u give to all of us. i can acquire such a lot of valuable lessons. being optimistic would problably be considered as a skill and u need to learn and sharpen it everyday. remember that u are living for the present, for the future, remember that u are doing a good job. therefore, stop blaming urself for ur setback, ur failure, ur mistakes that happened in the past. because u were making best effort to face, to go through, because u were very brave to go on. let's do whatever u like, u love, u want for urself and ur beloved ones. it will help u feel better. it will help u feel u can do many things that are great. and no matter how it is going on, life is still going on and still good. just keep ur optimistism, ur energy, ur happiness. this is the best thing u can do ;> thank u very much,sandra

Hi! It's interesting to know that you go thrifting too. Although the prices of stuff in thrift stores here have gone up, my husband and i do it often and we get the thrill of finding nice clothes and stuff to wear at affordable price. Keep thrifting! God bless!

You're such a beautiful woman. I'm a new subscriber and I'm 54 years old. I can only hope to be as lovely as you are when I'm over 60. Love your thrift finds, too. That is my favorite past time, thrifting and yard sales when I have the extra money. I still have a teenager left at home so not alot of money. Lol. May I ask what skin products you use? Hi Sandra:). You made out like a bandit with those terrific brand name clothes! I like ur idea of recycling and giving a new life to some very nice clothes 👍. You have a great eye for fashion, I had planned a trip to my Goodwill today cuz it was near my ENT doctor’s office but my plans changed when I got a call that my prescription sunglasses were ready! I did stop at my DT and found some very hard to find light bulbs for a special hanging light in my hallway so I think it was meant to be! Things are going quite well-I finished decorating my little front porch in a beach theme and it really looks nice:). I’m on the hunt for.a small, delicate wind chime. Thanks so much for this conversation. I am sometimes a day late watching your videos but I always watch them. I have a Goodwill very close to me and I must grab a friend and go. Just a tip, if you want to have a positive day go to the garden centers. I went yesterday and noticed how happy and courteous everyone was. The flowers and plants make everyone feel happy and optimistic.

oh Thank Sandra. as so many have commented "It is only temporary" is ringing precious to me. I have had to do some tough love with my oldest (adult) child and the heartbreak and minute by minute worry is suffocating. This phrase seems to create some space.

Oh Sandra, I try everyday to stay positive and be optimistic in these sorrowful times we are living in. Thank God for my pups, don't know what I'd do without them. I read every morning a note I wrote to myself that says, "Good Things Are Coming My Way". I try to plant those words in my mind every morning. I'm so happy Arthur is doing well and I'm thrilled you had such a good day with your daughter. I'm glad your daughter lives near you now, that is a blessing for you. Love & Hugs 💕
