***** british, they are british. English is not a nation, you can't have some 'english' chit-chat as the English language spoken mostly by Americans or other people. Britain is small.
DMC12Gauge CK2...when your dukes want to be part of your council and you appease them by giving them their desired seats only to find their stats are too low.
if you watch an interview with Charles Dance, he enjoyed doing those scene with Maise Williams, because of the quality of writing and her ability to do the role justice
That wouldn't surprise me at all - good actors love bouncing off of other good actors, and Maise Williams (like most of the young GoT actors) was a brilliant pick (Charles Dance's awesomeness was already long established). These scenes are arguably the best alterations to the books the show made. They're fantastically written, directed, acted, and make perfect sense for the characters.
Maisie is actually the best young actor on the show, it just pisses me off she's had so little to work with the last 2 seasons and perhaps it was always destined to be her character arc but they've turned her into a gurning psycotic killer.
When she says "anyone can be killed." he knows exactly who she's talking about, and yet he let's her live. He respects her, for all her youth. Perhaps he sees a younger version of himself.
@@johnrayordas Well they all are if you look at them closely, it's the fact that those traits that represent the most of him in which they get consumed by (I.E, Jaime's smugness in the earlier seasons, Cersei's nigh unstoppable cruelty and ever growing ego, and Tyrion's wit and mind for warfare and economics)
I wish they dedicated a whole other series with these two. Their scenes are literally the best and I was saddened because I knew it was a matter of time before she escaped Harrenhall.
For a girl without any formal training Maisie Williams is a fabulous little actress! She really shines in these scenes with Charles Dance who in comparison is very experienced. How wonderful for her. Maisie maybe young but she already holds her own, on screen.
@Wendy Liu - Tywin knew that since Arya was a Northerner, she was supportive of Robb Stark and against the Lannisters (unaware though of who Arya was, other than being a Northerner).
I don't think Tywin suspected tried to kill him. I think he just suspected Arya was a supporter of Robb Stark and now started thinking differently of her It's possibly he probably would've put her to the sword or taken her as a prisoner on his march back to King's Landing but by then she had already escaped.
@@stripedrajang3571 seasons 1-4 are based entirely off of "a song of ice and fire" by George R.R. Martin, these seasons are widely considered to be some of the greatest television of all time. By the end of the show, seasons 5-8, and especially seasons 7-8, the show runs out of source material (Martin is currently still writing a song of ice and fire) and becomes a parody of itself. The quality of the writing and the plot falls off so hard it's difficult to fathom. I would still recommend watching seasons 1-4 though. Also House of the Dragon is a prequel and is excellent, it just came out this year. You can watch it before game of thrones, and many people are doing just this. House of the Dragon is more accessible (less characters, less complex) but still captures the magic of seasons 1-4 of GOT as it is based on a prequel novel Martine wrote called Fire and Blood. Sorry for long winded answer lol
I love how they've developed their relationship in the show. They don't have one in the books, but it allows us to see a different side to Tywin and I think he admire's Arya. He knows she's tough, intelligent, and brave. Seven hells, he loves her more than his own children.
the dynamic between Charles Dance and Maisie is incredible. She easily commands his attention despite being in a room full of his advisors. Brilliant acting.
I really like this scene. Old warlord and apparent "servant girl", but their character traits go beyond titles, these 2 characters admire and respect each other
Jeez....imagine you're 13 year old Maisie Williams (or however old she was) and you have to act next to the great CHARLES DANCE and you still somehow manage to be on his level. God I love the first 5 seasons of this show.....so superb.
@@gurumapooru3961 I would have to agree however I think the dragons became an iconic piece of the show and anyone who hasn't watched game of thrones would probably say "is that the show with the dragons?", hence why the dumbfuck writers towards the end when they ran out of material, they went with who/what was more popular rather than giving us a proper good dialogue show, which is what made the show great to begin with.
One of my favorite scenes in the show and industry; the chemistry is perfect, the facial expressions are amazing. Cheers to flawless acting in this moment
At this point, he deems her worthy, equal, in various ways and yet he sees her as a possible worthy threat. Also seems like he wishes she was a Lannister, possibly wishes she was his own daughter, to lead for him at some point. Excellent scene.
Arya’s line “Anyone can be killed” rivals “When you play the Game of Thrones you win or you die”, “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention”, and “Chaos is a ladder” lines for the best 4th wall breaking moment in the show.
such a shame that a show that was this magnificent ended so badly. and i think charles dance may well have been the finest actor in the whole series. pure engergy.
you know what's so fucking great about this show is that i'm sitting here rewatching a clip of a meeting. a MEETING. i know fuck all about war but they're just sitting around talking and it's baffling how entertaining it turns out to be
"Anyone can be killed". Arya has always been no one. A girl has played Arya stark her whole life. Arya's life is separate. She gives a girl names, a girl must kill those names. Why? Because Arya keeps a girl alive all the time. When Jaquen Hgaar says "Finally a girl is no one" Arya replies "A girl is Arya Stark" and not "I am Arya Stark"
2:45 Just realized Arya Stark may have caused the death of her own family by saying so. "Anyone can be killed".They couldn't win the battles, so they went ahead and assassinated the enemy.
How is possible, the dialogues in early seasons are the best part of the show, despite later seasons had dragons, armies, battles and so on? Good old days, when the series was epic.
The best scenes in the show were scenes like this. Two people in a room, with compelling dialogue. I wish the later seasons had even half the intelligence of the earlier ones.
