She's more concerned about feeding her " children" than this case. She spends all her time on coddling the jury and rushes the attorneys and witnesses. She says she's gracious by giving them time ( to spend on the case). I don't think she understands her responsibility.
I broke my tailbone during labor and had a bad car accident. A year later my adrenaline lifted about a 1000 pounds to save my son. My back wasn’t an issue...
Yes! When i was little my dad was off work for a few days bc his back is awful and during that time he literally lifted a car to save someones life. (He does win a lot of tough man contests and karate and stuff so he's very strong) but yeah ... When you NEED to do it YOU WILL no matter what !
I broke my tail bone as well during childbirth. It's quite common from what my physician said. When they told me I broke my arse I was the butt of jokes for days. Lol
exactly right - is this their only defense??? that she has a bad back? Incredible! We all know that pressure situations cause people to find strength they didn't know they had!
Thanks for signalling (confirming) to me that I can skip most of these. I was really only interested in hearing the cross-examination by the Prosecution.
They really are useless. I keep going back in the video, thinking I accidentally skipped something of value. I'm in great physical fitness, but I've had 3 back surgeries and my backs in a lot worse condition (mainly do to athletics) but I can certainly preform any task, need be, I'll just suffer after.
The judge has spoken to the jurors as if they were second graders throughout the entire trial. “How are the snacks”, “Get up earlier to be here on time”. “Do you need a comfort break”, “ it will be a long 2 Hours Of sitting still”, …I could go in and on…so ridiculous.
They for sure did not do her any favors, but they had VERY little to work with. She had opportunity, motive, and an evidence trail a hundred miles long. She should have just taken a plea, there is no defense for her really.
Omg this judge is going to interrupt closings ?? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS JUDGE?? SERIOUSLY! NEVER EVER IN 20 YEARS OF WATCHING TRIALS, HAVE I EVER SEEN A JUDGE SUCH A MICRO MANAGER TO THE POINT OF INTERRUPTING CLOSINGS . SHE NEEDS TO LIGHTEN UP . Omg her hurricane lecture is ridiculous. I'm sure these jurors are ready to pull their hair out with this judge .
Sweetly creeping in jurors love her bc she gives them snacks & breaks. They probably don’t realize how annoying she is bc she’s so busy coddling them. And I don’t mean any negativity to the jurors only the silly & attention seeking judge
Lise LaSalle hahahahaha for real!! Please tell me you heard the part where she said she took pictures in the basement but wasn’t in the basement?! What a nightmare!
Well what I'm trying figure out here is since ashley had taylors cell phone i would assume that she knew taylors passcode to get into her phone maybe somebody can enlighten me on that
I know I am very late to this case and trial, is all this other information that was t allowed to be brought in online somewhere or in news articles? I live in Florida but near the space center and didn’t hear about this case at all. I e just found a channel that had two of her interrogations and the came here for the trial. Am hooked for sure!
Poor Mother...her only child is gonna go away for life. So sad. And what does her back injury have to do with her pulling a trigger and dumping some dirt. I have severe spinal problems, but if I'm determined I'm doing what I want and I suffer later....so that don't fly with me.
As I said on a different feed.... if Ashley’s back was that bad, especially the lower back, she wouldn’t be able to sit in that chair as long as she has without shifting or needing to stand up several times. Between my hubby and I, we know all about back issues! As I am sure you do as well.
100% agree with you! I have spinal stenosis. As much as it hurts, I also have a dead body that can put my ass away for life and trust me, that's enough motivation to get that job done.
Donna Cox; Right on Donna. She was able to dig a grave/hole and bury her victim's body. Her back is not that weak. She almost took the stand today but changed her mind, she had a few tears afterwards (regrets?). When the judge asked her a few routine questions, her voice was meek an soft...the jury was not in the courtroom. Tomorrow is closing arguments first thing.
Haha.. this is hilarious.. the defence spent an hour establishing she has a bad back, then the state put up a picture of her white water rafting... haha.. Game Set Match.
Ashley’s pics depict a very active outdoorsy life. She’s a trooper & just sucks up her pain & gets on with it by the looks🙄 I think we can disregard the bad back defence.
@@rachellucas6188 I love Susan Sarandon. Susan has Graves Disease though. I wouldn't put Susan Sarandon and this creep in the same sentence. I'm sure you didn't know that.
This judge is giving her a new trial. I don’t have a law degree, but this is a farce. Something is so wrong with this woman. Her rambling took up more time than the trial.
@@zeebee9356 VERY LOUSY!! This wasn't even the first time he did this in the trial ... There was another thing he said that i thought "well duh thats how she did that!" While hes trying to get us to think the exact oppisite hes giving ideas and ways she COULD have instead of COULDNT have lol ...what a slowmo
@@callie3444 oh you bet he did! Bc honestly for some reason i didn't even think of it but it being like a farm im sure they have wheelbarrows or dollys ... She just seems like an able bodied person but when he himself let that word fall out of his face while trying to say the exact opposite i was like DUH YOU MORON you just told us how it would be possible for her to do this alone even if she did have "back problems"
@@lovepet4565 I have lived in the Midwest my entire life and no not all barns have backhoes ... Only the people who buy them have them. Barns dont come with backhoes. And yes she def could have used a dolly or wheelbarrow.
You know what? I was thinking she had help in this but now I'm starting to believe she did it by herself. Now yes it would've took a lot of physical work to carry a body, digging a hole, adding the concrete and the potting soil. However, the more I'm learning about Ashley's personality she is a grade A narcissist. She would've definitely threw her accomplice under the bus when she got caught.
She's gonna "cut off" questioning witness after 15 minutes??? What the hell is wrong with her?? She's making her own time schedule pretty much ON DEMAND!!! APPEAL!!!
Agreed. She was professional, respectful, firm yet gentle and did a amazing job. Best I have seen. Also when she knew there was no point to cross examine she did not. Some of the witnesses seemed pointless that Ashley’s team called. I felt there was a pretty clear time time already. The investigator also recovered Taylor quick right? To my recollection they recovered Taylor’s remains 11 or so days after Taylor was murdered. This part I am not sure if I am correct. If anybody knows I would like to know. Very sad.
She said yesterday that it calmed down. And is Florida not used to storms? I think she just wants to get off early for the weekend for some reason. Is it a special holiday weekend in the US maybe? Or her anniversary perhaps?
Due to the blood being found elsewhere it's not likely that she shot her where she buried her.. Nevertheless the sweetheart is a narcissist! Narcicistic folk will be very convincing, deceiving, innocent appearing toward others...she even thought she had the cops pocketed...and then...the big surprise...which was...NOT.....!
@@rubberducky2926 Right. She sat up and talked to those cops like they were besties since PreK. Then they hit her with we know you are lying and she had nothing else to chat about. 😂
I agree! She was fine lifting those horse saddles as well, according to one of her texts. Those are at least 50 pounds! Just mounting a horse would be extremely painful!
I can confirm she didn't look to be in any pain the day after the murder. However, she looked like death warmed over. I even told my friend she had to either be on drugs or seriously stressed. I've known her for a while, and she was definitely different.
it looked to me that Ashley had on different shorts at Home depot than she had on at the gas station. they were darker at the gas station and looked whit with a light blue shirt at home depot.?
is it possible that aomeone LESE lifted it on to her..... theses photos are mad and an embarrancement for the court and state to put on. it shows nothing.
@@ilikeutube8728 even if someone else lifted it to put it on her back...the weight would still be pulling on her back when they let go. Unless you're suggesting someone held onto it the whole time until she was in the water.
I agree...bales of hay [ square ones] are usually between 65-75 lbs, grain bags are heavy... even if a farmhand helped... anyone ever bend over to clean out a horse's hooves... hefting saddles on horses' backs ... lots of bending, stooping, lifting and carrying. I'm 72 and had horses on and off til I was 68 ... had to go to full care board bc I could no longer muck stalls and do the heavy work they require bc my back could not handle it. I could never sit as long as the defendant in court all day. So many insignificant questions.
I heard her say something about her being an emergency judge if the hurricane would hit. Maybe the time schedule she is putting on here has something to do with that?
What a pathetic defense. I'm not saying the defense attorney(s) is/are bad, I think there just is no defense. I'd vote guilty just on the defense witnesses.
@@jamesmitchell1909 I am no legal person, I am a nurse. So I claim zero expertise in this topic. But, as a regular person looking at this like a jury would, to ME.... not speaking for everyone but to me when you have to get a chiropractor on that hasn't seen his patient, the defendant, in 9 years, you are seriously scraping the bottom of the barrel. I look at the defendant's witnesses and realize just how desperate they are. Maybe they shouldn't call anyone if they are so clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel? I don't know.
what kind of defense is this BYE BYE Ashley at least you get to spend the rest of your days living ...... I guess 1 hr for the jury to find her Guilty just enough time to fill out forms
Because the judge wants to get them home in time doesn’t want this case to take to long the judge in this case doesn’t seem to be interested in the case just the whether reports
@@angelasevere404 If she had been shot and buried somewhere else, she would have gotten away with it. Criminal s are stupid. Who else would have killed Taylor on Ashley’s families land? Nobody. Poor girl got eaten by maggots.. Look at Ashley’s eyes, they are hollow, like her heart.
I've never... EVER heard a judge give the "say yes/no if it's a yes/no" instruction, then to give before EVERY testimony & take it SOO personally if they mess up, she makes nasty comments & rudely orders them to do better.. It's moronic to think every question that CAN be answered with a yes/no can ALWAYS be answered with a yes/no. Her need to feel funny to the jury alone could just be seen as playful, but adding in her rage when the orders she gave aren't followed to a t, cheap bottle blonde dye/heavy makeup, and reactions I've noticed, she's the star of this movie in her mind.
@@p.sherman3158 good point. I hated the teachers in HS that penalized students based on a$$ kissing levels, that's why I chose a career where my happiness can't depend on others. It eliminated law as an option.

I feel for her mother. I don’t blame her for what Ashley did. She may be blamed for spoiling Ashley, and letting her get off with no consequences for any trouble she may have got in. But she didn’t INTENTIONALLY raise a murderer. I will say this is why we need to show our children they have to pay for their wrongs and stop letting them think they can do anything they want to anyone.
Deliberate and eat lunch at the same time!? Just what everyone wants- eating while looking at pictures of a murdered, decomposing body. The rush to finish this trial using the excuse of a hurricane that is most likely not going to hit them seems like grounds for a mistrial
I have watched all these videos of this trial. While I like, in a way, this judge's folksy style, and I agree that the defendant probably committed this crime, this judge seems dangerously close to infringing our constitutional right to due process. Her "let's hurry through this to beat the storm that may (or may not) be coming through Friday" statements and attitude throughout this trial have both sides rushing and apologizing for basic questioning and examination of witnesses and witnesses apologizing and self-thwarting their own accounts. Seems like McArthur would have grounds for appeal on this point alone. This is a first degree, capital murder trial, judge, it is slow and tedious and messy, and the defendant has a full right to be fully heard, you are being paid and paid well to be there. learn to deal with that.
Like I get that it’s very clear that she’s guilty…. But for Taylor’s sake… for her justice. Her friends. Her family. Her girlfriend. TAYLOR HERSELF…. Deserves to make sure nothing was missed and Ashley can’t get a mistrial and she easily could’ve
I've had 4 back fusions my first at 26 . Ashley was managing her pain just fine with alcohol and cocaine🤣. She wouldn't have been able to sit on a bar stool all night drinking with a back that bad. Plus she wouldn't be able to sit ALL day in court with a bad back .
I have chronic back pain and stand most of the time as sitting makes my back ache more, keeping moving seems to help, things like walking, rocking from side to side etc rather than sitting or laying down.
She is telling them that they have to have a verdict by the end of tomorrow. That's just crazy. I get that there is a hurricane on the way but I wonder if the way the judge has hurried everything could be a reason for appeal, if convicted.
Foo shoo=yes!! Is it me or did Ashley's atty fail at at least having her appear sweet, kind and unwilling & unable to ever hurt a friend?? No tears or 1/2 smiles...WTF?
I'm 69 with an extremely weak lower back...I still horse ride....I still lift heavy things...as long as I'm very careful....defence are on a lost cause here....she's quite capable of lifting concrete bags !
I agree, ive had a back injury for decades and when you are alone and have to lift something you do, and then suffer the consequences. chiropracters aren't really accepted as a conventional medical way of ascertaining bone/back problems, and did you notice how rude and ignorant he was to the judege, he didn't even hand the papers back to her at the end.
Your honor you are so unprofessional. I've never, ever heard of there being a time limit that, if you go over, you're cut off. You're the judge but you can't compel one of how many IT staff to present during the trial? This judge needs to be reassigned to where she would be beneficial - Traffic Court.
It looks like Ashley had a really nice life!! It's hard to believe that rather than figure out a way to start paying Taylor back (God knows she had enuff stuff to sell!!) As Taylor was hardly in position to chastise Ashley being that she was in contempt by trying to hide money from her ex husband!
Colleen I think the same thing....she had a nice hubby and a nice home and life....I would HATE to be in her shoes right now...OMG facing life in prison. I bet if she could she'd rewind and do it differently...well a normal person would anyway.
I think she had contempt for Taylor that she couldn’t shake. I can’t explain the depth of her contempt, but I sense it was pretty severe. One witness testified that Ashley stated to them that “Taylor is not a good person.” She couldn’t shake it, and, I feel, punished her for it.
Ciara Wetherell She liked Taylor well enough to hang around with her and spend her money. It was just when she was going to have to pay it back that she resorted to murder. Announcing she was going to poison kill her with cocaine in her beer??
Court in real life is actually quite like this. She’s a compassionate judge who wants to make sure everyone understands things. I find that reassuring and professional.
An image of the defendant pointing a rifle, that was up for half a second, can hardly be prejudicial when there has been an onslaught of testimony, even from her own mouth to the police, about her interest in, collection of, and enthusiasm for guns. It would be completely different if she had been saying all along that she hates guns and never touches them, doesn't own any, and then those pictures were shown, but that's not the case.
Ashley thought by her being a crime seen investigator was going to help her get away with murder yet she didn't study hard enough. Im happy Justice was served
Questioning by that chap to the witness who was going to clear the weeds on the property...on the two occasions you went to strim the weeds did you know someone was missing. Gardener...No. Questioner .. Were you looking for a crime scene???? Why would the gardener be looking for a crime scene if he didn't know someone was missing??? Ridiculous questioning.
She is going down fo sure shes not shown any humanity and looks guilty. There is the proof of cell Towers and the HD purchases. The guns Her motivation And body on farm
If you have a bad back, you know the pain comes after the lifting... you are still capable of lifting just as before. ur back muscles dont disappear because you have back pain.
I’ve had compression fractures and 5 herniated disks from my neck to the end of my spine. I’ve not had surgery due to my heart. I do everything when I have to and hurt, but you can’t live alone if you don’t do it.
Yes yes yes. I have the very same injuries she does, plus I’ve had fractured discs in my neck, as well. I have 3 small children, I work full time and when I need to lift or do something, i do. I suffer later, usually the next few days, but I do it. I think the “she can’t lift anything” defense is BS. And I imagine she was milking it so she didn’t have to do things around the house, or things her husband wanted her to do. Especially considering she was lifting saddles and boxes, in her own words.
The state has the burden of proof...not the defense. She's trying to get people NOT to help the defense make a case or hone in on points they didn't mention. With that being said, the judge is wrong for rushing this trial. I see an appeal on the horizon...
I agree re defendants mother, I hurt for the family of the victim 😔. The judge is making me ill not sure how much more I can take watching her and listening to her.
Did she really impose a limit of Time on closing arguments? "After 60min i am gonna stop you!"... I cant believe that. She could even ask for another trial!
They all have time limits. Example in Az for Jodi Arias they are given for example 2 hrs for closing argument. The prosecution can use all at once or they can use an hour then defense goes and has to use their hour then prosecution because they have the burden can use their remaining hour for a rebuttal closing to have the last word. Ever trial they are given a limit for opening and for closing. If they dont have a limit then lawyers would go on for days. Im obsessed with trials and watch tons of them and they all have time limits
So the defense witnesses are a chiropractor that hasn't seen the defendant in 9 years, her mom and the coin collector. That should tell the jury a LOT.
I don't think she drug the body anywhere. They were probably just taking a walk and she shot her right there. That's why there's no drag marks or blood anywhere.
I have spinal injuries after nursing for 45yrs. So when the Home Depot boy said she had asked him to put the heavy bags in the pasenger side. I thought, that's what I would do. I didn't know then that the killer had spinal issues. So she may be legit.
Lol I'd still say, if they had found some willing soul anywhere on this earth to say they helped her lift the concrete from her jeep, the stuff that she - proven by video and testimony - DID buy, they would have presented that witness. So who cares what Mom says? Who unloaded all that heavy stuff from her car if not she herself ? This is a ridiculous defense. Of course she says she can't lift heavy stuff if she wants an insurance payout or doesn't want to do heavy labour. I would too.
If they wanted to claim her back was so bad she couldn't lift a body, they should have produced a medical consultant to make that case. Otherwise, it's got little credibility.
Theirs been thousands of trials that have been shorter than this trials on capital murder cases. The defense agreed to this timeline before the trial started. They could have delayed the trial to start at a later date. Also never brought up during the trial the speed in which the trial was taken place.
I’m so confused by the way this case has been, and this judge with her snack talks- jokes- babying the jury which may I add goes home everyday not being secluded to a hotel room: Then the time length issues.... I have never, and now discussing this hurricane and giving instructions on how to prepare for it in length! Geez not fair to each defendant or prosecution to be time managed!!
I grew up with Ashley and I hate to see years later her down this path. She was somebody I really looked up to. My mother and her did a lot together and she was very good to us growing up.
Oh my gawsh!!! That state attorney smashed the defence arguments about her back problem by putting up those pictures proving it otherwise and then one error of a picture supposedly excluded from exhibit... almost became a mistrial!!! Arrrggh real suspense stuff this trial's turning out to be.
I think she told Taylor she buried the money out at the farm and they were digging for money low and behold they dug Taylor's grave instead, while Taylor was bent over digging ashley shot her wrapped her in hammock in the dirt until she came back with the cement
that judge treats the courtroom like a hang-out place for herself, it's like a circus and she also sounds really unprofessional in manner, how can anybody take a woman like that serious. She sits there talking irrelevant garbage.
As soon as her mom said, “if she did lift something heavy, it would hurt her back and she’d walk funny” the prosecutor should’ve said”so she CAN lift things, it just gives her a back ache and make her walk different for a bit?”
Both of those are true, I have a bad back as well. In those moments she WAS NOT thinking of her back! There was adrenaline pumping, she had to be panicked, desperately trying to move and hide the body. She probably did have pain afterwards and was possibly walking funny. This is quite a despicable act, her mind would have had to be working overtime and might not have even noticed. Plus we don’t even know absolutely how she moved Taylor, she could have used something that didn’t require as much physical strain as it would take if it was just her pulling, tugging and shoveling.
As soon as that photo of the defendant pointing the rifle flashed on the screen, I was taken aback. My immediate thought was how inflammatory that is! Whew! Nearly caused a mis-trial! 😮
Barry : “what was your occupation” Heitzelman : “crime scene tech supervisor” Barry : “ok what was your job then?” Heitzelman : “crime scene tech supervisor?” Lol... incompetence... unbelievable...
Not much of a defense, because they don't have much to work with. I'm sorry for Ashley's mom. I cannot imagine one of my much-loved children being on trial for something so heinous. It would not be as bad as having a murdered child, but, close enough.
