It would have been quicker but would not have shown all the places no DNA was found where it normally should have been. That combined with the fact that the defendant is a former crime scene technician may lead to a conclusion that she took steps to eliminate evidence which is evidence of guilt. So there is a purpose for going through each item.
Technicians don't get paid an enormous amount. I've seen her in other cases, always criticised. She's knowledgeable, experienced and reports as she is required to. It's not her fault an ec-crime scenes officer did the crime and thereby knew how to negate evidence
Would it not of been possible considering she was a homeowner and partial business owner for Ashley to simply fess up to Taylor that she fricked up and spent the money and take out a loan to pay her back in lump sum rather than killing her. Sure beats taking a life and spending your own life in prison. There was noooooo need for all this
@@collageofideas5784 It seemed that way with the farm, horses, another farm, two jeeps, ford f150, about 500 firearms, etc. I think she didn't want her friends 2 know she was a thief among other "reasons" 2 kill Taylor. Completely senseless & cold. Makes u wonder if she did this b4 & got away with it........
Ashley's family were well off, why did she get so greedy? I think she was JEALOUS of Taylor; to kill her. That is exactly what she did jealousy was not an option no more.
@@collageofideas5784 Amen. There were a couple of fly over shots of one of their farms. It was massive. And the street. Britt Road. I will never. Understand crimes like this.
Hell yea! Jury duty is the best!!! We get to come in when we want, leave when we want, do whatever we want while we listen, take breaks, LONG breaks, naps etc...... All while in the comfort of our own home! (Or bed),😆 Our "internet" jury got it made AND we are smart as hell too! This crazy bitch ain't foolin no one! 😄😂🤣
Feel bad for the older defense attorney. He has gotten names mixed up a number of times, but to get your own clients name wrong is just sad. He probably needs to stay out of the court room in the future.
Yea he really needs to "hang it up" after this trial. Or, let his son take center stage for all future trials, with him being in presence for any necessary help or advice.
I wonder if the defense attorneys felt backed against the wall. Him "forgetting" things gives her a chance to appeal on the grounds of INEFFECTIVE counsel.
@@lillianblake9123 not so fast. She had a defense team. (Wasn't just Beroset Sr.) Also ANY "misspoke" he made, was corrected on the record. So unfortunately that excuse won't work so well for her. Also, and EVEN more so, she used the same EXACT attorneys in her previous trial. She chose them again (reasons seriously unknown) to represent her in this trial. No worries on an ineffective counsel appeal!
She is serving 7 years for insurance fraud. She was involved in burning down one of her family's amusement warehouses (jukeboxes, gambling machines, arcade games).
This judge is a pain in the arse....she goes on and on and on then tells witnesses for a yes or no answer...what a psycho !!! These people don"t become judges because of their intelligence it"s like politicians ' it"s who you know not what you know".
Judge is treating the jury lick there 5 year olds talking about snackies lunch and food food food she is like she has some sort of retardation she needs to go before her peers to be judged if she is mature enough to handle a murder case omg
Lacey Bayliss I think she just knows from experience that it is important to keep the jury happy especially because they don't really want to be there in the first place.
This rude ass judge needs to be running a Bed & Breakfast not a courtroom. She’s so preoccupied with rushing everyone along and blankets and snacks and breaks and lunch....she’s infuriating. How are any of the lawyers able to present their best case if they’re being pressured to rush so much.
Kylee D - I agree... I have watched quite a few trials and I have never known a judge to promise the jury when the trial will end! Does she not realise the time and effort it takes to put a case together. I think she needs some more training on judges 'do's and don'ts' lol
Colonel Sanders seems like he may have been a great defense attorney in his prime, but damn he seems like maybe it's time to retire. He said he can't remember names and numbers and gets it all confused, he gets himself all confused with the lab reports and swabs, always flipping around in his notes trying to figure out what he is looking for and he ends up confusing everything even if he does take time to flip through everything.
Forgetting your clients name means it's time to retire. This could be grounds for appeal. Senility. The speed of the trial is not grounds for appeal. All appeals are based on objection and none has been made.
I’m glad the judge makes light of the death of an individual. She should know to be a bit more professional. If she wants to be chummy with thee jury then go see them in the jury room..
Judge keeps saying she's not reading or doing any investigation of her own... I wish she'd read these comments & move it along and keep her meaningless commentary to herself sheesh!!! Yet she's steady rushing the case along, perhaps so she can continue to waste the courts time 🙄
The fact that she did not find Ashley's DNA where it normally would be just from daily living is very important. It means someone wiped everything down.
They keep going on about evidence, as if she was killed somewhere and driven or dragged to the burial spot....but I think that she was lured and shot right on the spot they found her....don't forget the defendant was a crime scene tech so she'd know exactly what they'd be looking for....
she wasn't clever enough to realise they would place her with the mobile phone towers though, and then sending a text from the victims phone. she's dumb.
Stop using phones and computers when you are going to commit a murder ,very few witnesses left and lets see how much they solve .And use a car that is made in 1997 and has no GPS
sander verweij - I think her cousin said Ashley thought her husband attached a GPS to her car. He asked if she wanted him to look for it. Ashley said yes. He found one, but Ashley told him to just leave it there.
@@4magnels494 And they recorded 'foot steps' also. I didn't know that. It pays to use a horse/buggy nowadays. Do like me: don't keep up with all the updates/ updated gadgets. But, I'm not planning to do any illegal activities.
Yes. And don't answer any USA police questions to begin with. Also don't talk about wanting to murder someone or buy coke and try to poison them. Probably don't murder someone just because you don't lik them and you owe them money. Also when murdering deal sensibly with the body. Don't buy concrete. Don't use a shallow grave. Don't try to roast them in the home fire place. Or try an dissolve them in acid. Best thing is not to murder really, it's such a hassle :D
Body found adjacent to relative property. cellphone puts Ashley in Home Depot and on video tape no and wearing no disguise buying cement and soil. No one offered lab data on soil and concrete found with body? Did prosecution do lab analysis of concrete and soil and didn't share this data to defense?
@@judishanks3107 I didn’t catch that! But Ashley is a good liar if in fact she is truly guilty. Talking about Taylor in the past tense during interviews was kind of a give a way to me. Taylor was a crazy girl at times.. not Taylor is a crazy girl at times. (That’s not an exact quote, just example)
In the UK judges don't sit and make jokes like that, she doesn't sound or act like a professional, it doesn't seem formal, the lady who is the prosecutor is much more professional
This judge cracks me up with the McDonalds drive thru hurry up yes-no answers. Apparently she did murder Taylor, but this hurry up crap is ridiculous. This woman is on trial for her life. As much as we know she more than likely did it, she is on trial for her life.
Jesus H!! I hope that defendant didn't pay for her defense attorney's! The old man should hang it up. So far this case is weak af! We should all be scared if this is what a murder trial will now look like...
Well, with all due respect, he is being so rushed by the judge he is making stupid mistakes, like not knowing the difference between the name of the defendant and the name of the victim.
🤔. + same Q for the trial that culminated with the 7 year sentence that to my understanding is currently being served. Apppointed or personally provided? My guess is her Britt Family $ wasn’t afforded to her for Defense counsel on The larceny et al case; father and son District Defense counsel 🤔🤔. Maybe the research law-dawgs🙌🏼🤓🤓 who check in on these Comments can share the 411 on funding of counsel+D. Witnesses for the defendant; for both trials would be 👍🏼👍🏼. .
Cell phones and computers are basically the same thing, You think you have deleted pictures, conversations etc, but its all on the hard drive. You can never delete anything. I know someone who is a computer programmer.
There is 0 compassion or love in her aura. Including her mannerisms & actions. She, IMO, obviously only cares about her future. Her future has no LIGHT BECAUSE SHE IS A DARK SOUL.
I don’t think her weak representation even thought of that. The older guy seems to not even know who he’s defending. He acts like he knows she’s toast. Several requests to acquit, all for the appeals process where I’m sure he won’t be available.
Is Ashley’s hair graying or green? Shame she was a pretty woman, wife, and mother that became a cheater and killer. She was only married to her husband a few years before her affair with ZZ Top. 😆
She thought to destroy (most) physical and DNA evidence, but did not think to destroy paper trails (other than the items purchased at Home Depot) or electronic evidence. I look at it like if you take an exam and get 50% of the answers right and the other 50% wrong, you still fail. She got rid of half of the evidence, but still left the other half, and ultimately she failed in getting away with the crime.
Oh if you think that about him you really should watch Andrew Fiacco‘s trial. His defense lawyer was something to watch. So was the prosecutor. You won’t regret it 😉
@@JustMe-uc1lt it's not about being entertaining, it's about capturing the jury's attention. You want a charismatic lawyer that draws your focus to them when they talk. Just look at Casey Anthony's defense. You do not want dry and boring so that the jury is tuning him out.
I find it interesting that no one brought up how little it takes to change an iTunes password to gain access. Why couldn't defendant just change the password so law enforcement could gain access?
Pretty useless DNA information. How does the court reporter know if he is a Jeffrey or a Geoffrey? They should be asked to spell both names. While Ashley's greed led directly to Taylor's death, Taylor's greed in trying to take money from her ex-husband and child which she was not entitled was the act that set the entire process on its path. Greed is truly evil and will never have positive results in the long run.
You are correct; however, the Prosecutor HAD to bring forth this non-evidence FIRST. If she had not, the D.A. would have brought forth this 'non-info' & possibly brought 'IN' the question of integrity on behalf of the Prosecutor. This is my summation of the facts.
You guys have no idea how lucky you are with the standard of courts and law enforcement. I live in South Africa...the whole system is an incompetent circus
If only you knew. I do. I hope you are always safe-n-sound. Even here in the U.S., justice many times does not prevail. Someone can be innocent & found guilty. There have many times that evidence has been planted. In this instance, this monster received A PROSECUTOR made of INTEGRITY.
Gosh Ashley, you look like you're aging quickly. Stressful trial huh??? Too bad during downtime & nights, this judge can't join you in your cell...... Completely for comfort measures, of course!!! You know, make sure your warm & comfy, maybe offer you a special snack, possibly a massage to calm your nerves??? Hey, the judge said, "if you need ANYTHING, you just let those two gentleman beside you know"!!! Wouldn't hurt to ask!😄😂🤣😄😂🤣
Also, if you watch the entire trial you'll notice the judge is very fair. She's even asked the defendant if she needs anything. She checks on the jury, lawyers and witnesses. The reason why it seems like she's rushing is that there was a hurricane coming in and they're on an island so she didn't want the jury and everyone to be stuck or caught in the weather mess. Lastly, the other reason why she gives the case more time or whatever is that the state/prosecutor has to proof that she did something, the burden is on the state. The defendant is just there to cast doubt and make sure there's no prejudice meaning a fair and thorough trial. This wasn't a complicated case. It was quite obvious she did this because of the chain of custody and the destruction of evidence and DNA. She new how to cover her tracks but thank God for technology and home depot store cameras and receipts. I mean she was using Taylor's cell phone to text herself back as if she was still alive and she knew she'd already killed her.
have you ever thought it was to show that Ashley wiped the car clean--it's to put a thought in the jury's mind. You apparently don't know how the law and a trial works.
Is it just me, or is there a LOT of phone calls on those phone records? Like actual CALLS. I maybe talk on the phone verbally like once or twice a week.
She also used this for her business phone! And Ashley had several businesses. + I am sure she assisted in attempting to flood the evidence RE: CRUCIAL PHONE CALLS & TEXTS PREVALENT TO THIS CASE!
No, she's from a generation where the art of complexity and tongue-in-cheek humor were appreciated and understood. Unlike contemporary times, in which comprehension is mechanized, flat, and shallow.
Edit- the judge is terrible. Watching the rest of the trial. Love how the judge treats the jury. She does rush the case, but probably better in the long run. A lot of answers are usually yes or no. So far, I don’t see any defense. Totally guilty so far.
For reals?? I'm waiting for the big piece of evidence that PROVES Ashley is guilty. Btw her attys suck! They should've told her to soften her look! She has the charm of a paper bag. No tears. No smiles. Just flat. That alone may convict her.
She's the exact opposite of the judge during the Jodi Arias trial. That judge would have allowed the trial to go on forever. I do think there's a happy medium the. As a juror, I'm sure she's great. It's just very different than most judges.
I feel this judge really doesn’t like the defence attorneys, she doesn’t seem to give the same respect to them, especially the older gentleman, as she does to the prosecutor
Why is it the right hand you raise when being sworn in? I’m surprised someone hasn’t complained about it being discriminatory against lefties. Give it time and no doubt someone will.
I process absence of (evidence of) Ashley's d.n.a - in places she was known to have been, and on objects which she was known to have touched - as either null in value, even becoming a bit negative in her direction. What I'm saying is that Defense's approach of emphasizing what was not there, made me wonder why it wasn't - and not in her favor.
Did Ashley's defense attorneys ever really go to any law school to learn how to be attorney's....hmmmm I really wonder if they really did because they are really really bad at it
Most defense attorneys will try their best not to bore the jury and/or try not to convolute the information they get so as not to bury important information... the eldest defense attorney is just bad... really bad... why the younger one didn’t do ALL cross I don’t know but that could’ve helped... maybe..
I agree she looked at the power point at her “ supposedly” friend decomposed body and didn’t shed 1tear . If it was my friend I would not be able to look at the pictures and I’d have some sort of emotion.
On the left side of the page click on settings, then notifications, then manage all subscriptions, look for Law and Crime Network, opposite that is a oblong box with a bell, click on the bell and a window will open with three choices All/Occasional/None, highlight the top one "All" then click save. hope this helps.
You get what you pay for - and in this case - these defense attorneys (father and son duo) HAVE to be court appointed (free) lol The prosecutor on the other hand is AMAZING!!!
Seems like Wilkerson needs to take another class cause it's only been a few months since DNA would have been left at all the locations no profiles could be developed.
My opinion of guilt or innocence aside... I feel this case was so rushed. It was totally unfair in my opinion. It honestly seemed all that mattered was getting the trial done as quickly impossible and presenting the evidence thoroughly did not matter.. Hurry hurry hurry is all that mattered..
Yeah, I couldn't believe this judge would get on to the witnesses if they tried to answer with anything other than yes or no till they were so intimidated they pretty much quit answering. Anything that keeps a witness from testifying freely and fully is called testifying under duress. I really thought the judge would at least get some sort of reprimand for that.
Seriously, Belvin Perry judge in the Casey Anthony trial. He's awesome! definitely not this thing with green hair trying to be Miss Cutie with the jury, and her dumb possum stories.
This jurist loves to hear her own voice. Handles the coffee pot and swears in witnesses. It’s obvious that Ashley is guilty but the judge is acting like she is presiding over a civil case. Seems like the judge is an expert on everything except hair care and makeup.
I have never seen a judge who tells a witness they should only answer yes or no. Isn't that the attorney's responsibility and the judge intervenes if necessary? This judge, I think, is TRYING to be fair but she's overbearing.......and in some of the footage is CHEWING GUM!!!
Raccoon Mama - Raccoon Mama - The judge is not asking the witnesses to ONLY answer with yes or no. What she says is: IF it’s a YES OR NO question, please answer yes or no and don’t provide any further information. If the lawyer needs anything else he’ll ask you. That’s what the judge says to the witnesses. And, in my opinion, is much more effective to do it before the testimonies begin than interrupt the witness in the middle of the sentence. Based on the trials I watch, even when it’s a YES OR NO question, the witnesses tend to provide more information, that’s natural and understandable. They feel a need to explain the answer. But, when it happens, it becomes a pain because we’ll have the lawyer asking the judge to remind the witness to answer only yes or no and then we have the judge repeating it to the witness. That’s just exhausting. I’d rather be advised about it right in the beginning than keep being interrupted by the judge. I don’t know if you watched the defendant’s aunt testimony but, even when she was advised before starting to testify and also being advised during the testimony, she said to the judge that it’s hard, it’s really hard to only answer with yes or no and don’t explain anything. I believe her. And I think the judge does too, but that’s just the rule of the game 🤷🏼♀️
