For being one of the best running youtubers (in terms of your running, and speed), you make your reviews really beginner friendly...I really like that...not that I am a beginner, but its nice that you explain these terms :) when I started being a little more precise when buying shoes, I didnt really understand some of these terms, and wished people would explain them in reviews :)

Love your channel and thank you for the review. I have the Novablast 1 and love them - can’t wait to pick up the 2nd version. Nothing for me has absorbed the impact as well (much better than even the Brooks Glycerine 19) and at the same time feels like you’re running on springs. They make running fun, and I can run longer and without as much soreness. For reference, I’m 6’1”, 185lbs with high arches (probably under-pronate a bit) I don’t know how Asics is figuring out their stack heights but no way the stack height is 30mm in the heel and 22mm in the forefoot. It’s probably closer to 40mm in the heel and 32mm in the forefoot. On the 1st version if you measure the heel from the outside it’s 40mm in height.

Circled back here to check if you had blisters from Novablast 2 like you had from the 1. Good to hear this one is blister-free for you and I'll probably buy a pair because I LOVED the ride and bounce of the 1 but it gave me crazy blisters on the back of my achilles tendon.

I had 4 Pairs Have my 5th Pair atm of the Novablast 1. And i can say the outsole is still all good above 900km the AHAR hat just two little wears. But the midsole lasts for me 800-900 km and I am a 192cm 85 Kg Runner.

As someone looking to consistently shake my own foundation; to challenge what I believe and alter my actions to follow my evolving values, i can't think of a better tune than 'The times they are a-changin'" by Bob Dylan. I was quite a difficult student, to say the least. It was my 8th grade year that i was shown the work of Bob Dylan by my history teacher. We would listen to songs between classes and he gave me some tapes to listen to at home. This song encouraged me to rethink the story i believed that would cause me to spin out of control; to look at life as a gift that happens for us, not to us. All it takes is understanding that the times indeed are changing and we have to change with it or we'll sink like a stone.

At the beginning Novablast 1seems quite unstable but after ~ 50km I absolutely loved these shoes. Not sure they changed somehow after that distance or I adopted to them.

AHAR™ has an abrasion resistance about two times higher and AHARPLUS™ about three times higher than conventional rubber. That is what the ASCIS site says. But my first version Novablast seems to be wearing out quite fast perhaps due to its thinner layer as you have suggested. But for poorer people like me, I might revert to the more traditional ASCIS shoes with more AHAR to make my money worth.

Im really looking forward to the running shoe battle with the endorphin speed 2! I was considering the rebel v2 but im 6'2" and 170 lbs so I feel like that ultra soft midsole won't hold up the way the novablast 2 will. Super excited to see how it fares next to the speed 2. Pretty sure one of the two of them will be my next pair! The pressure is on!

@@simonalcroft7897 I got the original endorphin speed and the novablast 2. I like them both but I think I prefer the novablast 2. For perspective though, im a novice runner. Ive only been running about a year and my "hard days" are 3 miles at a 10 minute/mile pace. Hahaha

Yesterday I bought my fourth pair of the novablast 2... I also have the 3s but only using them just for easy days... The 2s are still my most favourite running shoe next to the NB FF SC Trainer (Long Runs) ... The 2s were just 70 euros over here in Germany

600+ miles on the Novablast 1. Still springy in the mid sole. Forefoot outsole tread wearing down, but there is still enough rubber and spring for this 42 yr old to put in another 200 miles on this shoe. 25 to 50 miles a week for me. Plan to buy Novablast 2 in December. 12 month shoe.

@@miriammoriarty8588 retired NB1 at 618 miles. Mid sole started to feel flat. Bought NB2 and put 658 miles on them. Prefer NB1 to NB2. Currently running in New Balance Rebel v2 as my daily trainer, only 145 miles in, but I like them. Plan to get Novebkast 3 in Sept as it seems to be a big improvement over NB2 - mainly lighter and better midsole.

I wore my old Novablast 2s to cut grass yesterday. After running my New Balance Rebel v2s for several weeks - the Novablast still felt better, despite being 650+ miles old and retired.

FYI according to Asics website the Novablast 1 has a stack height of 32/22, so they didn't add any to the forefoot but removed some from the heel.

I just ordered my pair of Novablast 2's over a week ago. But do to backorders, I won't be seeing them until sometime around June 10th. That's good for me, because I should be pretty well healed from a recent calf injury. BTW, if your Novablast 2's weigh 8.9 oz. for your size of 7.5, will mine weigh somewhere around 8.85 oz. @ size 10.5.? I divided the size of your shoe by its weight and multiplied the answer by 10.5 (my size) to calculate. Is this a proper way of determining weight of the shoe, or are there other parameters to consider?

@@sp3c0ps if version 2 doesn't feel good I can still have relatively fresh pair of version 1 in the use, first pair of Novablast 1 has +600miles at the moment and having new pair of them is setting now in 35miles and saving them only for specific sessions. Didn't yet purchase Novablast 2 but they will be long in the stock ☺️

QD: “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for” by U2. This song represents me well as I’m sure it does with many people. In life, especially athletics we are always striving for more and evolving. Though I love to run and race amongst other athletic activities, I still find myself hungry and searching for that one things that captivates me and will give me that feeling of this is it, this is the style racing or competing that makes me tick and gets my heart racing!

If I have to buy a pair of shoes for mid-long runs from asics up to $150, what would be your suggestion? I have had novabkast 2,but I got holes on top of my big toes after 200miles. Luckily they are still under warranty and I have a voucher of $150 to order new shoes.

Hi, my long runs are 10k and a normal run is 5km to 7km. I'm a slow runner, a good pace would be around 6/7 minutes per km. I need a shoe with good support and plenty of cusion due to bad knees. I currently run in cumulus 21s and have no real issues, but they are near finished. Would this be a good shoe for me? Many thanks
