I might be the only one who isn’t a big fan of the SB1. I find the foam a bit too firm and the ride feels awkward for me. It feels like it wants me to run faster than I want to go and forcing it to go slower feels clunky. I’ve actually have a fresh unboxed pair which I bought as a back up as I expected to really love them. Size 11 (uk) if anyone is interested.

I realized that these running shoes are very comfortable for walking (especially the ones with a softer sole) and now I'm just switching between vomero 17 and 1080 v13. unlike Ed, I prefer the new balance, but I must admit that the vomero is more stable. Here's an opportunity to make a video of which running shoes are the best for walkers:) the design of some is too much though:) looking at you invincible

Either running shoe sales are going through the roof or there is a shortage of supply because it is hard to get your hands on the Asics Novablast 4 these days let alone the Superblast or any of the Metaspeed Paris shoes. The Superblast 2 will be in high demand so I hope they'll have sufficient supply for the masses that are salivating to buy it. Myself included.

Nice selection Edd! I’m of a similar vintage to you and can remember being dazzled by those same Air Max 180s. Never owned a pair but sure they would’ve worked great as an all purpose running shoe. I actually ended up running my first ever HM as a hard pressed student in the only trainers I owned at the time, a beaten up pair of Nike Cortez! Did the job though I seem to recall being a bit sore for a few days after… 🤣

Peg Turbo 1 and 2 are my fave shoes of all time. They were truly a revelation, which I mentioned to my Mizuno Running marketing client at the time.😂 Three pairs of Turbo 1s, at least 1,000 miles on each, no defects. One pair of Turbo 2s, upper separated from sole on both the pair I bought and the replacement pair Nike sent… I have to say, Nike customer service was elite; meanwhile, customer service from NB and Saucony ranges from sucks to non-existent.

I remember the ad for the 180 and they definitely pitched it as a running shoe! Good luck on getting a pair, you'll be up against the bots. Superblast2: if they break this shoe, I'll burn ASICS down. The best running shoe I've ever used. If I can get access to a 2nd pair of the originals, one more colourway please!, I'm storing them just in case. Random aside: are they, the 2s, going to have massive laces? One of the images looks like they've tucked the loops into the main bit of the shoe.

Cant help but think with asics supply issues if you arnt lucky enough to get the superblast 2 at launch you will be waiting quite a while to get a pair. And by seeing how many people are planning on getting a pair i suspect its not going to be easy.

No interest in those shoes..the superblast was a brick for me..too much drop,too hard foam and still has the same issue as the nike air bags in the forefoot..always feels like a wad of gum on the outsole or a sock/insole waded up in the forefoot..fortunately NB filled in their forefoot midsole but it's still separated from both sides and so I can still feel it when the foam has gone flat after a longer run..still working on the alphafly V3 to find a combination that feels right for a marathon shoe..maybe it will grow on me as yours did..😊

You are the only person I know that tried the Superblast and didn't care for it. I think it is the best shoe I have ever run in and I've run in hundreds of different models and versions across all brands. Glad we have so many great shoes to choose from!

Asics is on top of their game. I have nearly 250 miles on my superblast, works pretty well. And I'm really glad that they made the bottom layer of the midsole more uniform. I am a heavy person and it may be my form or stride, It's almost like I can feel the cutouts over a long run. My novablast 3 is about to touch 600, now used only for casual wear, still looks good with hardly any wear.

Superblast 1 was/an weird shoe for me, liked it but never loved it, mainly due to the horrendous outsole that was terrible in the wet. It also felt a bit firm to me. Not sure I'll be rushing to spend £££ on v2. Now the Air Max 180, lets just say I've set a reminder on my phone for the release date...

Every Novablast model gets an LE version with a very light and breathable upper. I believe that novablast 4 will get the same treatment. As for Superblast, the upper on version was ok but i would also like to see a more refined upper.

Man , so excited about SuperBlast v2 rocking original now and love them, but got a PR in Metaspeed Edge Paris the plus foam is just that, gives that extra oomph to your stride. Left Nike for ASICS loved Peg Turbo 2 , disappointed by Turbo next nature, hoping plus may be back to what the 2s were. Great review have a great weekend!

Good. I'm looking forward to the SB2. The Superblast 1 will get discounted, and I'll pick up a couple pairs if they get to 100 credits. It's one shoe that does everything, so I wouldn't have to get any other shoes except maybe some trail shoes for the next year (Asics should make a Superblast Trail)

We've come a LONG way. I trained in the air 180s in 1991. They always seemed pretty clunky, but supposedly they were premium trainers so I persisted.....then I found my way into a pair of ASICS GT2s. Absolutely loved those. And now the SuperBlasts. The more I run in them the better they are- at about 250-300km in them. And the MS sky Paris are fantastic too. Will try to snap up a pair of the SB2s at release

My money is at the ready for PegTurbo4plus in grey color with red stripe Uk11 size 👍😁 If they'll be good I will order meybe few pairs. As Streakfly2 will be like old Streak more like track shoe, PegTurbo4 is more like Streakfly1 successor. And hope it's not encapsulated like Vomero17.

Imagine if they actually go with asicsgrip on the superblast 2 instead of the crappy ahar+ it would make the superblast the perfect shoe. Upper looks.. heavier, i loved the mesh of the v1. This looks like a textile that could soak up alot of water weight. Just purchased another sb1 on sale in the juicy paris colorway lol

I belive a Superblast 2 July release is official. One colour only. Two more colours in September. I'm not so sure I like the idea of a combined racing / training shoe. For racing you have the Asics Metaspeed. But that's just my thinking 😊 I like the idea of dedicated training shoe and race shoe.

Can't wait for the Superblasts 2. I didn't manage to get the SB1, but after all the reviews I've seen I'm hyped :D This year is a great one for supertrainers - Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 are excellent, On Cloudmonster Hyper are... well... interesting (:D) and even Salomon put out something really nice - I know S/Lab Spectur is supposed to be a racing shoe, but for me they are more of a supertrainers than racers. I didn't try Hoka Skyward X, but I guess if SB2 will release then I'll pass on the Hokas :D

I fear that Nike will put a premium sorry PLUS price tag on the Pegasus plus. My prediction is 180 earth credits (Euros for me here in Italy) could be tempted by the Superblast 2 as the Metaspeed Paris is absurdly good.

Wasn’t able to try the superblast.. didn’t go up to US 14/15. Hoping they change that this year. Been enjoying nimbus 26 and novablast 4 instead.

I think the superblast 2 has a completely different upper actually, more of a knit instead of the motionwrap-esque upper if the v1. As a result I think it’ll actually be a bit heavier than the v1 even though it’s using a lighter foam…

My Superblast have well over 100 mile son them now and look hardly used so I won't be rushing for V.2 but definitely interested to hear what they're like. Peg Plus doesn't interest me at all. Love those 180's as a lifestyle shoe though!

A different midsole will change the Superblast. It suited me as a bigger runner and so many loved it. Many say perfection so how do you improve on that!? Maybe they'll be better a slower paces which i see as the only negative of the original but won't be as good for faster paces and or larger runners. See how it goes i guess!

Looks Like superblast will be heavier. Wider Platform + daily Trainer Upper . Thats why i have buy today Superblast V1 😎

@@EDDBUD is not a race upper 😤Wide platform without holes (rocks catchers😂) =more Foam=more weight 🤬. Same The new Kayano 31 is Heavy AF 😬 buy the old superblast as long they are available 😞

I share your enthousiasm on th AIR 180. I can still remember the adds in the printed media and I wanted them so badly but they came with a really hefty price tag so I couldn't have them. When I downloaded the Nike Sneakers app a few years ago, I only wanted one thing: the comeback of the AIR 180 in these legendary colours. But when I looked at them in the app today (they appeared this morning), theylook disappointing and I wont' even be buying them. It's not the same upper, different materials...It's not the same shoe. Looks way cheaper like some aftermarket fake 180. Curious to get your verdict after purchasing Edd.

Not sure that I would have kept the toe box stripe. I still jog in the first iteration and the stripe attracts some strange looks.

@@EDDBUD I use my original Peg Turbos a lot. Very nice smooth ride though loads of creasing in the midsole.

I don’t understand why you continue to say that the stripe on the Peg Turbo made the shoe less roomy. It was literally a strip of paint. Nike could’ve omitted the paint, and it would’ve fit exactly the same. Please stop the madness.
