As a bi woman, I really love these videos, and they are very much needed here on RU-vid. And out in the world.

Wow! what a situation to deal with (your mother's reaction). Glad these vids were such a help. I'm in the early stages of dealing with my man admitting he is sexually attracted to men (with a history of him having quite the active male sexual life before). It's only been a few weeks.....it's confusing and hurting right now. But these vids DO HELP!! White light to you on your journey xxxx

Once another bi girl told me I couldn´t say that I was bisexual because I had never dated a woman and I wouldn´t know if I even liked it. Point is I never dated a guy either and while I have had sexual expieriences with both female and male, the only good expierience was with a girl, but that doesn´t make me a lesbian either. Sexuality isn´t always clear, but I do know what I´m attracted to and with community I feel I fit in and with label I want to put on myself.

I've had a similar experience witha friend who, after knowing I identified as a bi woman, and it came up again in conversation, said: you're not bi, you're straight, because you've never slept with a woman before. I didn't know if I should get offended.
@LittleChaoticMonsta
@LittleChaoticMonsta 9 лет назад
nelly5376 ***** the only person who can tell you what you want to call yourself is you and if that changes over time, that ´s fine too. Sexuality is fluid and you should just label yourself with whatever you feel comfortable with (or don´t label yourself at all if you want to.).

I have never understood why gays are so critical of bisexual by making condescending comments and not acknowledging the B in the LGBT and the T also.
@DragonLightz
@DragonLightz 9 лет назад
devinngeorge Unfortunately, many in the gay community want to deny RJ his bisexuality and classify him as "fickle" in order to validate and justify their own coming-out hardships, and they extend this discrimination even to gay ethnic minorities. I understand why they do this, but I simply refuse to accept it. If Love is Love, then Discrimination is Discrimination.
@idontknowdude3021
@idontknowdude3021 9 лет назад
I never understood why we say. "LGBT" and not for example "BGLT" because apparently it's not in the alphabetical order because "lesbians need more visibility than gays". What about bi and trans people? And assexuals and pansexuals? It's just terrible that even within the community there's so much prejudice.
@eethry
@eethry 9 лет назад
Mira Kun lol, I just noticed that, it's ordered on the level of acceptance. Interesting point.
@devinngeorge
@devinngeorge 9 лет назад
In my experience gays are just so demeaning towards us bisexuals and mean spirited. It breaks my heart the level of intergroup discrimination, from our so called gay brothers and sisters.
@kierucom
@kierucom 9 лет назад
Mira Kun It used to be GLBT but it was re-arranged. I think it's an EXTREME stretch to assume that the order of the letters in any way indicates prejudice within the community, though there is no doubt that such prejudices exist. Personally, I think the acronym at this point is ridiculous. It's what... LGBTQIAAP now? We're trying to encompass so many different groups of sexual orientations and gender identities under a single umbrella. I'm starting to prefer "Sexual / Gender Minority" at this point... though even that umbrella term has its issues.

There is one question I heard others ask bi people, that annoys me as fuck : ' So, if you are bi does that mean you can't be monogamous? I mean....you tend to have sex with whomever you like, no?' The stupidity and ignorance of that question is so priceless, you can't even use your American Express.

*+Matthew Pearce* I apologize for calling you a whiny bitch. Had I known your current background and self esteem issues I would have NEVER said that to you, so please accept my apologies. You, on the other hand need to stop bashing your own head in, because you are not worth that! If in a relationship one is mentally abusing the other it is always easier to join in, because 'well...he must be right' but he is not right! Treating anyone like crap like that is such a dangerous path to travel, because it only revolves around power. He doesn't think you are ugly, fat, damaged and non loveable...he only makes you think that, because you gave him the power to be the landlord of your emotions. Don't travel any further and please take your life and self worth back into your own hands again! You see how a small change of view here made us plead for and to you, in stead of keeping on bashing you? You can do that in your own life too! You Are Worth It!!!

I love these videos. It's always fun to see how you respond, and it's nice to not feel so alone. I recently started re-exploring my sexuality -- I've identified as bi for a few years but recently, I've not really felt bi. I've felt more and more pansexual or even just a general, overarching "not straight" which is odd to say but I'm actually sort of happy to not immediately have a label.

I know that so many gay guys came out as bi first, myself included.. But if someone were to tell me they were bi, I would believe it and accept them, and if they were to come out as gay later, I would accept them then to. You have to take people as they are, because not everyone uses bisexuality as a transition phase.
@ardinrye4786
@ardinrye4786 9 лет назад
I actually had a perfect time to come out to my mom as bi. She was going on about how it's important and great for me to develop and be myself separately from my parents and to be different from them. So it was an excellent segway to be like, "So speaking of me being different from you and Dad..."
@GodlessGlen
@GodlessGlen 9 лет назад
Lots of great points. Sometimes I do see some guys and think "I bet they're bi". Not that I am fully assuming but just taking a guess. With that being said, it's really not a good idea to assume people's sexual identity, especially if you are talking to them or about them to others. I think society has fed us so many stereotypes about gay/straight and masculine/feminine we size people up.

I don't really know if I'm bi or pan (not caring so much about labels) and since I have the same ideal as you about not having to come out I just came out to two best friends of mine (to one of them because I was really young and kinda scared and to the other because she was saying ignorant things that hurt me) and I plan to never come out to anyone anymore.
@BethStar11
@BethStar11 8 лет назад
I haven't come out as bi yet. Cause I spent so long saying that I wasn't gay (maybe i just look like one?). That really made me more confused because I knew I liked guys but everyone was telling me just to come out as gay already. I think if do come out as bi, people will just think I dont want to say I am gay yet. I also don't know if my parents quite know what the word means. I am bisexual, I like two things: 1-my gender. 2-other genders.

Nat Bray Really? You really want to identify yourself as a minority? I am a man who likes to have romantic and sexual relationships with another man. That does NOT make me a minority....that makes me only love the same gender as I am.
@crys7695
@crys7695 9 лет назад
gyqz But we are Minorities in this sense, as its common for people to be straight and identify with their given sex. We are in the minority (I.E. not as common) because there are less of us, so yes, we are Gender, Sexual, and Romantic Minorities
@gyqz
@gyqz 9 лет назад
Nat Bray We are NOT minorities! We are human and in that sense we are majority! If you want to talk common : as long as you keep on talking about 'us' , the more you keep yourself segregated from everybody else. Just because you happen to love the same gender as you are, doesn't make you a special or seperated species.....
@crys7695
@crys7695 9 лет назад
gyqz We are in the minority for our sexuality, romantic orientation, and/or gender. In the same way that African people, or Spanish people, or Japanese people are minorities, they are racial minorities because there are less of them than white people, in the US, at least. Saying that we're LGBTQIA,etc. isn't doing much better, and GSRM is just an easier way of saying LGBTQIA, etc., because all of these things aren't normal, they're different, and we're in the minority of people for being this way. I'm not trying to separate us from straight, Cisgendered people, I'm just giving a better, shorter alternative to LGBTQIA, etc.

This might just be me because I'm bi. I don't assume gay if they're not straight. I mean yes I'm guilty of assuming somebody's straight, but when I see or hear something different I don't automatically go to 'gay!' I go 'oh, so that's cool. They're bi, or gay or something like that'. Am I the only one that does this in my brain? xD lol. Great video btw, it was this series that helped me understand what being bisexual was and indirectly led me to realize that I am bi a year or so later. :)

I loved what you said about who you have sex with doesn't define your sexuality what so ever. I'm a bisexual female, and I've noticed that people don't believe that one can be bi unless they've had sexual or romantic relationships with both men and women. I've been sexually involved with a woman and been romantically involved with a man. So because I haven't had sex with a guy I'm a lesbian according to ignorant people? That's funny considering how the same of you ignorant people claim I'm really just straight and confused. Smh

I am a bisexual male, and I want to come out to my best friends, but I need a funny way to do so... The funnier idea and the cleverer idea the better, GO!

gameguy8101 I suggest you sit them down, and say "Guys, I'm straight," wait a couple of seconds "up bisexual!"

When I came out as bisexual, one of the people I came out to assumed that I would be taking on a more promiscuous lifestyle. I would have thought he knew me well enough to know that I'm not like that, but I guess not. And while it was frustrating, I have lived the same way as I did before I came out, at least as far as sexuality goes, and there is still mutual respect between us. So that's cool.

Ok man dude you are great glad you found someone and as well wish he was me.. lol but as bi myself I like how you answered these questions but as bi to bi here my. What others do that no matter how it happened to come up what you dislike the most others do? For me it how they word it their questions; I understand that most don't knew or know but kinda wish they word it better so don't sound offensive more as towards learning and growing understanding as a human being.

I thought I was one of the few that had more trouble with the gay community than the straight. Usually, straight people are the ones that have the more innocent, well intended questions that can easily be answered. If their thought process is a problem, it's easier to be chill and educate them. I identify as pan and I've personally had a good number of the LG community criticise me or tell me to, "just pick."

Thank you RJ. Sexually fluid. I like it. Labels are for jars, not people. But society dictates labels. Maybe one day with that equality, that will change. Awesome vlog.
