Agree. That was part of the reason I bought a RX 5700 XT Taichi in November. That and it was the only card really available at under $400 the past 2 months (NewEgg sale + $20 Asrock mail in rebate). Also got the B550 Taichi Mobo as Newegg had it on sale and $30 mail in rebate from Asrock. Just got the rebate checks yesterday. Annoying process but $50 is $50.

Another great video as always! Seems like a great card! Us Aussies really get screwed with pricing, dealing with the exchange rate is bad enough, then they slap an "PAY YOUR AUSSIE PERSON TAX" on top of it and just get away with it... Don't even get me started with scalpers.

Same with European pricing too! Here all the regular 6800s goes for more than 800 euros with the best models at 850 (that is about 1050$ for a 6800!) :(

Just picked up this card from Newegg liquidation for $540. It is absolutely massive and heavy. Just put it in the rig yesterday, can't wait to do some gaming with it.

@@cyb0rne497 It's a great card for 1440p! I had a 6800 non XT and I honestly didn't think it was going to be a huge upgrade but this cards performance is on par with the 6900XT. In MW2 I am at 160 FPS, overclocked and undervolted. My junc temp while heavy gaming load is on average 70c, core is 50c. It was very pleasantly surprised with the performance, and it looks great.

@@jay68 Thank you very much! I just ordered the card, gonna pair it with a R5 5600X and have a 165Hz 3440x1440, it will be a significant upgrade from my Vega 56 😉 I‘m looking to undervolt it a bit make it Consume less and your comment makes me even more excited! ✌🏼

@@cyb0rne497 Glad I could help, I am also running a 5600X and 3440x1440 monitor. To add, I think the 3rd 8-pin connector gives this card better stability with those spikes in the power draw. Undervolted I saw no difference to the FPS compared to OC, yet it did help with temps tremendously. Just thought it would be good to know, I hope you enjoy your card. cheers

good news, at the moment (september 2022) the aussie price I can find for this has fallen to $999 AUD, and is likely subject to fall, so if you're looking about that now, yeah it's like 2/3 the price it was then

I got my hands on one yesterday.. but my prob is that the middle fan hasn’t spun once yet! The other 2 do, so is it faulty? Or? I’ve googled fan not working not helped, so I reverted to a RU-vid search and all taichi cards I have seen so far have the middle fan spinning. Any help appreciated!

@@RafaHuel I ended up just sending it back! Got a gigabyte one instead, all fans work. I posted this question on Reddit too and had a reply saying to send it back. I don’t like the gigabyte one though because it’s not as pretty lol but it works!

I was told at one point that the middle fan kicks in at a certain temp, but I’d sent it back 2-3 days after receiving it so couldn’t test that part even though it didn’t spin I didn’t have temp issues just I didn’t want to risk it after paying £1200 for it lol

I managed to pick one of these up today for $1200 USD. I’m having a little bit of buyer’s remorse though because it seems about on par with a 3080 which is ~$300-$400 cheaper here at MSRP. Not sure if I should keep the Taichi

@@RafaHuel I returned it shortly after I made that comment and stuck with my 2070 Super. I realized that I didn’t need it for the type of games that I play (WoW, Deep Rock Galactic, COD, etc). I later got a 3070 at MSRP and use that now

Managed to get one for 540$ and my god is it a nice card. it its even quieter than my sapphire pulse rx 5700xt despite running at 1900rpm, just the sound of breeze. Managed a stable OC of 2580mhz aswell.

I was looking forward to this card, I have gotten 3 pre build systems (from different companies) all 3 had a defect 6800XT taichi in it... so now they offered me a 3070.. which i declined as i see it as a downgrade to this one. Now they are putting in another 6800xt but its prolly not a taichi or else they would have said so. its been 4 months now, maybe those companies had the same trash supplier but yeah.. shame it didnt work out for me..

Got a 6800xt taichi and 5950x on special order my cpu gets here February 1st and I ordered it over a month ago and I ordered the gpu a week after the cpu and still haven’t got a shipping date. I really wanted a strix 3080 but had a chance to order a 6800xt so i jumped on it. I payed a little more than $830 I think it was $850. I think i payed about $10 less for the 5950x. Im upgrading a 3900x radeon vii rig. At least i have a good x570 motherboard so that saves me a little (Asus crosshair viii hero wifi) And I ordered and 2 sticks of ram it seems that ryzen 5000 works better with 4 sticks in games. 4x8 3600mhz cl14 Seem like finding a 3080 or 6800xt is like seeing a🦄

@@RafaHuel well it was taking forever and a canceled the order which i did regret for a long time but eventually got a ftw3 3080ti. But man the prices now for 6800-6900xt’s are getting low. But at this point i would probably wait for 4000 from nvidia and 7000 from amd. I just wonder about availability and pricing on next generation gpu’s.

Aussie prices? Man that sounds cheap. I'm here in Turkey and to be frank, the scalpers are selling stuff a lot cheaper than what the stores are pricing them for. The cheapest you can find the CPU's and GPU's is 2x the MSRP, some go for 3 or 4 times even.

I know. Mine arrives Tuesday. It will be a looooooong time before I buy a new GPU by choice. That's what's going to happen to both Nvidia and AMD. People won't buy GPUs for atleast 3 years as a result of current prices. That, said. I'm still stoked because Tuesday is also FSR day and when you compare the performance of this card to a 6900 XT(which it can beat!) it's actually only $300 over MSRP at that Newegg price.

They just toss their cards out there knowing full well scalping botters are going to get those cards. There are no good guys or bad guys here. Just Capitalist. It's not like they are doing this with Medicine. GPUs are not essential to humanity. they are just components for hobbyist at the end of the day.

I might be wrong with this but I think when it comes to pricing we get it the worst in the UK, most companies give us the same number as they do America so a 3090 would be around $1600 in America it'd also be £1600 here which is equivalent to $2180 it's rediculus

Can agree to that. Managed to pick up the Sapphire Nitro OC 6800xt here in the uk for £799 which is more than it should be. Seeing as getting any of the current gen vid cards is hard as hell I took the plunge.

The unofficial Australia Tax is the worst part of living in this country. It's not like it costs any more to ship things here anymore, and we're not really a "small" market these days either, we have a much higher uptake rate of new technologies than most other western countries. Don't get me started on the Australia Tax for digital products...

Yes. The card broke after 1 month of use. I returned it to microcenter and got an EVGA 3070 ti. That card is great, and I used it for 6 months without any problems at all.
