All you people in comment section talking about v6 . Doesnt speak for much . The v6 model sold a small percentage. When people bought the Camry they bought 4 cylinder. Probably for fuel economy.

I almost bought a new Subaru Legacy but put the brakes on that deal when I was made aware of the new awd Camry. I'm ok with the 4-cyl. engne. I also am very happy that Toyota is using a regular automatic transmission instead of a cvt. The cvt is what made me waver on the Subaru.

If this were a wagon it would probably be more practical and efficient than most crossovers, If only.

This Camry is now LITERALLY unstoppable. Good shit Toyota. This model is going to eat into the sale of certain other cars AWD cars. Cant wait to see how this model camry drives.

I work on all my cars, I'm glad that is NOT a V6. Currently own a V6 Escape and that thing is torture to work under the hood . Everything is super tight, engine components and accessories piled one on top of the other. Plus, the AWD system adds a fair amaunt of bulk and mass to an already big car. Heavy = No good for handling and mpg. Just going by sale's numbers I think they made the right decision. People rarely put their money where their mouth is.

Does this mean Honda could follow suit and make an AWD Civic? Imagine an AWD Civic Si or Type-R. I believe the only reason some people currently choose the STI over the Type-R is the AWD.

IIRC isn't torque vectoring just the bogus "drive" system that uses the ABS brakes to individually brake a wheel, so it doesn't spin but you're also eating up the brakes every time the car "assists" you?

As others have eluded to, I think this doesn't have AWD and a v6 because the platform was not packaged for it. That is why even the Avalon won't have a v6 and AWD. I would bet that the next gen Avalon will have a v6 and AWD in addition to the ES350.

The V6 is the model that needs it the most. I wish they would offer it with the V6 ... It’s also the same story with the Altima offering AWD on the base 4 cylinder instead of the Turbo 2.0T.

An AWD system won't help you if your tires don't grip properly (or at all). Winter tires are essential in places like Oregon or Montana.

I was hoping to see it drive out of the spot it was in. Let down. Funny how the marketing says only 6% buy V6, yet 90% of the comments here said, not thanks for an AWD with only a 4 cylinder.

How does it compare with Mazda’s new AWD system and Subaru’s tried and true setup? At least, what are the similarities and differences between AWD offerings. At a minimum, even if this is just a sales pitch (no problem with that) why is the Toyota system better?

Nice looking car, but I'm not crazy about those low profile tires. I suppose there are going to be less fragile options.

Mic placement location should be noted. Lots of static and low volume audio. Speed of getting a video out should not take priority over audio/ video quality and editing.

The real/biggest reason they went with the 4banger was because it's a drop in drive train from the Rav4. They drop the ball. It should have had the v6

No most buyers want to pay less money as everything is way overpriced nowadays. That is why people do not buy V6 the V6. No one buys manuals anymore because they do not like shifting in traffic. I personally think everyone should be able to buy any vehicle in a manual as an option. When I first started driving the automatic was an option in almost every vehicle

Informative video. The Camry is sporty looking and based on reviews I've watched, driving vehicle. More sedans need to come with AWD as an option, I think they could increase sales and pull from the SUV market due to more people wanting AWD for bad weather.

Nice concept. Too bad there is no V6 option. At the right price point, a V6 AWD would be more popular than they think. While the majority of "traditional" Camry buyers may well prefer the 4 cyl, there is another group of buyers outside of that demographic that would be drawn to take a look.

The v6 got crappy sales because Toyota isn’t managing their dealerships that are marking prices up on these cars like crazy and adding unnecessary things to them for additional dealerships fees. So what do you expect? A wagon version of the Camry in awd would also sell like hot cake. You need a v6 version idc if you’re worried about Lexus sales they are also being sold way overpriced and need more improvements.

Doubling down on sedans eh? Is that why you can't do a RWD Avalon and eliminated the GS hybrid? You don't put 300HP on a front wheel drive car. For an AWD Camry to make sense you should also offer it in a hybrid for city use. Infiniti used to sell a AWD hybrid sedan in the Q50 that had a V6 if I remember right. For folks who live in hilly places with lots of rain or need to get through snowy winters a car like that is almost a requirement.
