Subaru fan here but I would take this Camry over Legacy and Altima for an AWD sedan segment.

Hopefully this will finally get Honda to drop Acura’s “SH-awd” system to the accord.

I own a 2006 Camry LE, and it is amazing how much how the car has changed over the years. Love the AWD, I think all cars should have this option.

Very disappointing that there’s no V6 with the AWD that would be a true sleeper...no wheel slip off the line and a good highway puller

Way too little power for an Avalon

Glad to see Toyota has brought back an AWD Camry, and is now offering it in the Avalon as well! It's funny how my passenger seat in my 21 year old Avalon (1999 model), has 8 way power adjustment!!

You have to push and hold traction control off button while vehicle is stopped to turn it all off. Love your videos, literally have watched every single one.

I love these and now really love that they have a heated steering wheel

It's good to see Toyota coming out with an AWD Camry. I listened carefully when you did a pull from a stop and it seemed to me even with the eight-speed, the revs didn't stay in the upper band; it sounded like it should have shifter each time at least 1000 rpm higher. I see someone else also noticed.

Will they add awd to a Camry Trd model

It would be unbelievably helpful to see what a standard 2 wheel drive Camry could do on that course. Otherwise, the road test almost has no value.

Why doesn’t Toyota offer the V6 on the base trims of the Camry like LE and SE?? The V6 could be selling way better if they did it that way, while still keeping the XSE V6 and XLE V6..

I work for a Toyota dealership here in the great white north, the 6% figure for V6 orders seems high. I've never seen a V6 Camry at the dealership in half a year. Quite sad times

The best AWD sedans i have driven so far are 2 that i rented. 2020 Ford Fusion AWD and 2018 Volvo S90 AWD. I made multiple 4,000+ mile round trip journeys from Cali on these two cars. They grip in blizzard conditions better then my 2018 Range Rover HSE and the handling was amazing on both in Colorado Mountain winter drives. I'd have to get my hands on one of these Toyo Camrys AWD to see if it's any good. Back in the day i had a super charged Toyota Previa AWD and it was amazing in Chicago winters.

Toyota makes THE BEST practical and long lasting vehicles out there. I own a 2013 Camry LE and will own a Toyota the rest of my life.

The camry will probably be replacing my outback. Done with Boxer's and CVT's.

Considering you got stuck...does the Camry have a front tow hook for that situation?

thank you for the very well done review! My one question is, why did it get stuck in the snow? Shouldn't the AWD system control the spinning rear wheels and send more torque to the front wheels? It would seem to me that the computer sensors/controls are not calibrated well? It appears that the ground clearance is sufficient, as the tires are at least touching the ground/snow and not lifted off by too deep of snow. I am in the market for an AWD sedan and have been shopping the Legacy, and I was hoping this would give me another option, but the image of the Camry getting stuck is concerning. I live in Minnesota and NEED AWD in my location.

They're saving the V6 for the higher performance version that will be coming out... whenever.

my 2007 civic drives the same way on canadian winter snow storm, while it takes off, the trick is to not stop so not to get stuck. the purpose of awd is to get you out off stuck situations. otherwise what's the need is for.

Back in 2003 I purchased a new Honda CR-V 4 wheel drive (4wd). It, like the new Camry, had absolutely no indications on the dash as to when the 4wd kicked in. As the driver, you only knew 4wd kicked in because the car remained stable when it appeared you were going to lose control.

It’s dealerships fault that the v6 is not outselling the 4 cylinder. My girlfriend went to buy 1 and they kept shoving the 4 cylinder down her throat. We literally had to fight with them to get the v6. They kept saying you don’t need a 6 cylinder, the 4 is enough. We kept repeating to them that she has a very heavy family. Merging on the highway that poor 4 cylinder fights to get up to speed when loaded with people.

i work for the plant in Georgetown Kentucky where the Camry, Avalon, ES350, and Hybrid Rav4 are manufactured. i bought a 2019 XSE in the Blue Streak with the Black roof with the V6. the V6 makes the car a totally different daily. would recommend it anyday

LOL so their reasoning for not having an AWD V6 is because V6 was only 6% of sales? Imagine what the AWD will be with 4 cylinder only! Most of the people who are showing interest in the AWD version COME FROM that 6% population! Oh Toyota, lol.

The Camry is not the only vehicle with a traditional automatic. The Mazda 6 has a 6speed auto as with both the Sonata and optima.

A lot of people confuse traction control as vehicle stability control (what keeps you from sliding around) most cars can disable that by holding the traction control button for a while. Toyota is one of the companies where you CAN defeat the vehicle stability control.

I’ll buy it tomorrow if they do a V6 or a 4 turbo. I have a Camry SE v6 now and it needs AWD for the snow, but I am not willing to give up the power of the V6

Ok, now we need an awd version of the accord from honda - should pair it with a 1.8 or 1.7 turbo with panoramic sun roof at the exl trim and above ! Its a shame how most of the Acura products DONT have panoramic sun roof .

The shifts seem long at WOT for a 8 speed. I have a TLX 2.4 with a 8 speed DCT and the shifts are much shorter at WOT.
