The legends arcade cabinet is on the latest firmware v3.0.4. That part of this video was recorded 2 days ago. No clue if it worked properly on previous versions. They have a newer update for the Legends Ultimate and a patch for manual installation for the Legends Deluxe to fix the pairing issue.

I updated the firmware on my Flashback, and it broke the roms for Super Empire SB and Super Return of the Jedi

You need to update the firmware on the Legend's Flashback as well. A lot of games run at the wrong speed without the firmware. But it will for some reason mess up the the star wars roms.

It did fix the slow down on some games though. If you upack the firmware you can see which games got patchs.

I think the most exciting thing about the Legend Ultimate Arcade machine is the tool they released where you can add your own roms easily with artwork and bezels. From what I’ve seen it works well too.

They omitted the SD slot from the Atari Flashback X and that surrounded the announcement of it being compatible with the arcade unit. But if it has the same issues you showed here, that really falls flat. And there’s talk of adding ROMs to the arcade anyway which obsoletes the Flashbacks entirely for someone who owns the arcade. I reviewed this LFB deluxe on my channel as well and was glad to see they left the SD slot. But I just can’t pull the trigger on the arcade at $5-600. So this was interesting to watch.

Great video. Thought you were going to trash both items but you were honest. Hopefully AtGames will fix the control problems you found. The Legends Ultimate Arcade is on my Christmas list. Hope it's better then Arcade1up SFII I bought last Christmas. Hate the joysticks on the SFII cabinet.

I’ve actually grown in love with my Legends Ultimate, it has pleasantly surprised me in how it plays and the included games so far have run very well. Sucks that this particular unit doesn’t interface well with the cabinet, but at least you can add the roms of the games you’d want off a USB drive via their beta add on tool.

Johnny Proctor You have to use an add on tool using either a MAME2003plus core or a Genesis core (can’t remember the specific one, pretty sure it’s popular). You have to then use the add on tool to create a file with the rom and core on a USB stick on the cabinet. No idea on how roms work on the flashback consoles with an SD card.

It has the arcade version of ssf2 so it is somewhat impressive. I am surprised that it has lion king and Aladdin especially since these games were recently released on console.

@@luisreyes1963 or by the fools who can afford both. I buy AT game consoles out of sheer curiosity. Half of the time they turn out decent. For example the AT games Sega and Atari 2600 flashbacks. I love them both. The official Sega genesis mini is probably better. I have that, and the AT games flashback. They both work, and do what I expect them to do. They each have games that the other doesn't have. They are both very satisfying in my personal opinion. So because they can't afford something more expensive, and have to settle with a third party option that still works means they are gullible fools? There are so many things wrong with your statement

I have the original 50 games version of the Legend's flashback I updated to a custom firmware from a site called gbatemp it really unlocks the full potential of this little system and many of the built in games work alot better after the update

Great video! It's too bad that they still have sound and video emulation issues because there are some games on here that you can't play on anything else "legally" (I'm using quotes because I'm not sure if they actually got the rights to these games).

I personally don't have that big of a problem with the AT games hardware. I have the genisis and Atari 2600 from AT games, and my biggest complaint is games selection. Though that complaint being my biggest one is fairly minor as they still have a decent library. I understand most people's gripes with AT games "classic" consoles, I just don't share those opinions. I think they are fairly decent, I've been able to play them without issue for years, I enjoy them. I wouldn't mind picking one of these up

I wonder if it would work better and if the wireless controllers would work with a more powerful power supply? Even rPis run like crap with the 1A power supplies.

I should have mentioned it, but I did try with a 5v 3amp power supply I use for the pi and it was the same, wouldn't power the adapters from the looks of it.

that sucks that it doesn't really register button inputs sometimes. is there a way to install the games from the at games deluxe onto the legends arcade so you don't have to constantly be switching from other at games consoles? just curious, I'm not going to buy either just wondering.

I love how you guys get these consoles that have 100 games that play very well for a reasonable price, and yet you pitch a fit. The sound isn't the exact pitch as the origonal, the 30 year old graphics aren't as clear as I want them, the two controllers aren't as nice as my $40 replacement controller. Come on guys, At games does a decent job for the price. I have owned 3 of them and loved them all. The only people pitching a fit are the snooty game nerds who pay about %1,000 more attention to the software emulation than the rest of gamers who play these things.

I got a custom firmware from this gbatemp website for the 50 games legend's flashback now I can play alot more games and the emulation and sound is definitely improved over the original firmware they also have custom firmware for the Sega Genesis and Atari flashback

Any idea if you can use Steam Link to play MAME from your PC on this? I know you can add and run MAME as a Non-Steam game and it will boot on PC. I'm on the fence about buying this, hate AtGames but this cab really interests me. EDIT - I am referring to the Legends Ultimate Cabinet.

My atgames legends flashback has some games that don't work and don't boot up. Donald in Maui Mallard and The Jungle book don't boot up. Will the firmware up via sd card fix this ?

Hi everyone. I managed to get one "Legends Flashback DELUXE (110 games)" delivered to my country (France) from the USA. But sadly, I got no manual in it..... I can see that manual can be found online as a PDF file for standard version (FB8660) but I cannot find it for DELUXE version (FB8660S). Please anyone, post a link for it. Thanks a lot. Cheers.

I believe there's a mod for atgames sega games called neto boot loader mostly it help fix the sounds of the games. no clue if it fix the bugs of older model of atgame sega consoles.

I'm constantly skeptical of Atgames. I would like to buy their products because they look really neat to collect, especially the blast consoles. But I always have to make sure the products are worth their original prices. Also has anyone seen the new atari flashback X? I collect mini consoles and that system... Mmmm. It's beautiful.

Those retro-bit wireless controllers also don't work on their own super Retrocade I'm just thinking that these emulator systems are too low powered to support those types of controllers they are usually powered at 5v dc versus the original hardware usually powered at 9-12v dc

Hate is a strong word. I dont hate anyone or some company. I say fuck them though. But also at the same time I am not keeping them in business, how? Im not buying their products or lying about their products to push sales. I make videos I find interesting and others may find interesting, thats my business... Thats how I stay in business. There was an opportunity for me to produce content showing this stuff and an issue that there is with it... My goal is to inform, educate, entertain.

I asked them a while back about that and they simple told me nothing to announce yet. They will usually drop some hints, but with a new Retro Cade it just doesn't seem like they have one in the works.... but who knows maybe they are keeping it a secret. I will ask them again if there may be a new version in the future... maybe something has changed since the last time I asked lol.

Was thinking of getting this because it had Zombies Ate My Neighbors, but not being the SNES version is a dealbreaker for me. Also, I got my hands on their new revision of the Namco Blast. Guess they caved in and put the arcade versions on it, and I'm still wondering why they didn't do that in the first place.

As much as i personally wouldn't buy this console i can understand who its for. There are people out there who just cant afford the playstations , the nintendos or xbox's and that this is all they can afford. The arcade machine you can add games but have to use their software to make packages for the games. Its interesting and mostly works but can be hit and miss. The arcade machine also has an internet service thats pretty much a joke. $20 a month to play a handful of games. They stream to the machine but from what I saw there was a couple you could download so it would look better and have better latency.

There's videos on RU-vid that show you can add 1000's of games to the Legend's flashback (depending on the version) I have both the 50 and 100 games versions the 100 games version will play Nes, SNES and Sega Genesis ROMs off a SD card

I always wonder why these companies cant simply create a unit that functions 100% fine. Ive had MAME for 15+ years, have a big monitor, joystick with no lag and have absolutely no problems with emulation - so why cant they get it right, especially when they charge exorbitant prices?

@@ncf1 you of course are absolutely right. I guess Its like always, just to make a fast Buck and give the people the bare Minimum of functionality, especially when there is/was no competition. Now it's almost to late. They can only bring top notch products to redeem themselves, but they still droping the ball in some areas (bugs, product advertisement/design and hardware). But with this product and the Arcade Cab they got my attention, by now I got plenty other consoles /boxes that can emulate stuff that i want. The Arcade Cab tho is the only "good deal" imho from at Games. You can't buy a Cab anywhere for that price with this quality. Even the diy Kits are more expensive, with that hardware ATgames includes.

Probably because Capcom wouldn't allow them to include more besides the AI in Super SF2 is more forgiving than the ones in Super SF2 Turbo anyways.

That's why you're wrong, AtGames does learn that's why they are adding games that we want on there and an SD Card feature so you could add more. The only thing is more doesn't mean quality but people still buy em and they are making big money off of these so yeah AtGames does learn, they learn to make money out of these.

You have to DL the patch to get them running right and turn the overdrive on. But the firmware will break your super ROTJ and SUPER ESB roms.
