Ever notice how many survivor cars of the 50's and 60's are 4 door sedans vs the lower number of survivior 2 door hardtops and convertibles? Can you guess why that is? The hardtops and convertibles were the choice of young street racers who lacked the skills to handle all that big block horsepower, feather touch power steering and wallowing leans in the curves. Most of them ended their salvageable days wrapped around telephone poles or big trees. In the worst cases they hit other cars or trucks head on.

I have an age progression theory how cars progress into rusting into the ground ,the first 20 yrs they get used down to Parker’s , the next 10 all depends if their parked under structure and out of view from parts hunters . If they make it 40 years it’s rare if their complete . Some at this auction were hiders

@mr.goodpliers6988
@mr.goodpliers6988 Год назад
You've got me wishing that I would have checked the block number. That would be the best way to tell. I called it a 348 in the walk around video, simply because it had the tiny little 2 bbl carb and intake. The dipstick was on the correct side for 409. Did you happen to catch the school bus video this summer? That one had a "W" engine with the dipstick on the passenger side also. Check in the comments, lots of guys were saying different things. I am not an expert on them, so I can't say 100% one way or the other

At least $30k... depending on how bad it is... and what they want the end result to be.😎 In 1983, when I started to rebuild my '54 pickup, I estimated that I would spend $15k on it, doing 90% of the work myself. By the time I was finished, several years later...I had actually spent close to $25 (as prices rose over time)... and had done all my own work, except for prep for the paint, and the paint job.
