It's the first Sunday of August. What a special time as we press into this month. School starts in just a few days. Lots of change this Sunday - the children move up a grade. There is a great opportunity for all families to come and kids can move up if they hit that threshold for grade change. It will be really exciting. Our children's ministry does a great job each week. It's very special for families to come to the house of the Lord together.
I’ll be sharing a word with you about God‘s word to us. How do we hear his voice and respond to it? Matthew 7:24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock."
That’s what we want to be. People founded on the rock. We hear the word of the Lord - His wisdom, And no matter what comes, no matter what storm, no matter what challenge - we stand. We are unshaken. God wants to give us a very strong word of encouragement about his power in our lives and that the future is filled with great opportunity and great promise. That is what's on my heart. I want to share it with you.
We’re looking forward to a fresh business meeting. We had one last Sunday. We have an opportunity to revisit the questions that we were visiting in that meeting and will gather for another members-only meeting on August 13 at 5pm. We’ve learned some things from the last meeting that were very helpful. It was beautiful expressions of love for this house and for one another and we have an opportunity to approach this question again of what the future holds together with our business meeting at 5pm on August 13.
Don't forget this Sunday water baptism. If you haven't yet been baptized in water, that’s a special step in the spiritual journey that’s available in our service this Sunday. It's going to be an amazing start to the month. Don’t miss it. We are pressing in together. We have God‘s plan, His purpose, His we will be done as we listen to His voice and respond accordingly.
