Love how the brothers Iroh and Ozai are on opposite ends of the list. I think that surprisingly fits perfectly. In fact, I think you should do some kind of collab with Wicked Binge.

Agree with several placings, although I feel Yakone deserves to be higher on this list. Enjoyed his powers, hurt people for sport, showed no remorse, either for civilians or his kin.

Zaheer didn't really "took over" Ba Sing Se, he just removed the corrupted leader and then left it to the people which of course was horrible idea cause it only created chaos. What i mean is that he never did stuff for his own personal gain like power or influence but to create (in his slightly twisted view) better society for everyone. Also Yakone is imo more evil then Amon, he just didn't have a chance to go nearly as far as his son did cause Aang was around but he did everything only for power, was trying to kill Aang, wanted to take over the republic city and when that didn't work he placed all of those ambitions onto his sons viewing them as merely tools he can use for revenge which lead to creation of Amon.

Actually. Azula killed someone in the series. She killed Aang, but Katara brought him back with the special water. Also, she would have killed Mai if Tylee hadn't stopped her. And almost killed Iroh. And almost every accomplishment in Ozai's reign was really thanks to Azula. The fall of Ba sing se, the plan of burning the entire Erath kingdom...Probably even the fall of Omashu if I remember correctly...

Wait... Ozai does have one redeeming quality: he's voiced by Mark Hamill 😂

Ozai deserves to be No.1 cuz he literally has no soul or a conscious, the exact description of a demon. Ozai is nothing more than an empty husk being hosted by evil spirits, I mean c'mon he doesn't have any room for himself to be loved and overall had 0 humanity in him, these rankings are valid btw flame.

There’s actually one villain missing from this list. Chin the Conqueror who fell to his death when Kyoshi separated her island from the Earth Kingdom mainland.

Well, Ozai does have a couple of minor redeeming qualities: he saved Zuko from drowning when Zuko was a child. He also spared Zuko's life, albeit in a twisted way: he poisoned Azulon in exchange for not murdering his own son because of the lack of empathy Ozai showed when talking about Iroh losing Lu Ten to Azulon. Remember that after Ozai expressed a lack of interest in his brother losing his son, Azulon told him to murder Zuko so he could also understand the pain of losing a son. Moreover, he advised, albeit in his own twisted way, his own son on how to have the mindset to be a good Fire Lord regarding having a strong determination to make difficult decisions. This was in the book where Zuko and Aang briefly fought. I forgot the name of the comic, but it is an amazing read. This doesn't take out the fact that he still should be number 1, but just pointing out because you said Ozai had ZERO redeeming aspect, and also shows that even people with high level of Dark Triad traits does have their few redeeming moments here and there, although they are quite rare.

When you read the Yangchen novels, you’ll probably have to update this list to include these villains: Thapa, Chaisee, and Kalyaan. FYI, I think Kuvira got off way too easy in the ruins of the Empire storyline. Even if she helped to stop Guan and reverse the brainwashing of team avatar, she belongs in prison for everything she did.

I think Yun might be Avatar Kuruk's son. I think after Kuruk lost his wife he got insanely drunk one night out of depression and slept with Yun's mother, got her pregnant, and she stole one of his journal's that had his pai sho technique's recorded on there. Hei Ran even stated that Yun has Kuruk's smile.

Top of the list: Ozai Bottom of the list: His brother and son

I would maybe switch up Iroh and Zuko. As you said Zuko never majorly hurt anybody and at his core he always knew that what his country was doing was wrong. Iron on the other hand wrote letters joking about killing innocent people and I do not believe that he played siege on ba sing se without doing some gruesome things himself. I totally agree with Iroh having redeemed himself but since in my opinion Zuko never went as far as Iroh did he should be at the bottom.

I think there isnt much difference in terms of evil between trying to kill but failing and actually killing. Azula being perfect example of that when she fully intended to kill Aang it just happened that Katara had magical healing water but if Katara wasnt there then Azula would have killed Aang with a smirk on her face.

Why did I think that Oazi was going to be second and #1 was going to be some random person that killed everyone

I feel like Zhao should be higher. He was willing to torture a kid and killed anyone in his path. He also studied the spirits in the library, fully knowing the effect of what would happen when he killed the moon spirit.

I think you should have included Varrick on this list as he did fuel a lot of the violence in the water tribes civil war selling weapons to both sides leading to intense conflict that most likely ended in many deaths/injuries. He obviously had a great redemption and wasn't even a cruel guy so he would have ranked pretty low on this list but in my books he was still a villain at some point

Something i want to say about Zhao is that he said something absolutely true to Zuko. "If your father really wanted you home he would have already accepted you back,Avatar or no Avatar". Thats not a villian moment He legit dropped the bad guy personality for a bit there and just told Zuko the truth. That was a wake up call that Zuko needed. He wasnt telling it in a villianus MUAHAHA way,he got serious looked him in the eyes and told him how it really was. He wasnt being smug or trying to provoke him etc. Zuko should have known that from the start,he shouldn't have wanted to please his abuser. Ozai was just looking for an excuse to have him away cause he despised him. He did change his mind on Zuko after he returned cause he saw Zuko as now being strong and worthy of being his successor but it was only for the most cruel reasons. Ozai indeed was going to do the same thing as Sozin did but much worse. Definetly the most evil character

Also, I just want to point out that even though Azula didn’t kill anyone, there was a few times she almost succeeded. And she wouldn’t have batted an eye if she did. The closest she ever came to killing someone (that I know of) was Aang himself, when she shot him with a very lethal lightning blast, WHILE Aang was in the Avatar State. Some may argue that Aang WAS dead for a moment. If Katara didn’t use the spirit water on Aang, he would have stayed dead and the Avatar would cease to exist. Whether Azula knew the Avatar would never be reincarnated after that, I have no idea. But she really could have ended the Avatar, permanently.

Glad you added a few Kyoshi Characters from the books for those that haven't read them yet, I think Tagaka should be on the list even though she was like the "1st boss" to fight and Yun shouldn't be so high because of him genuinely being good until he was betrayed and basically possessed.

I would rank Hamma a lot lower because of her backstory. Solitary confinement is a form of torture and that prison would be enough to make almost anyone go insane. I think that she's literally lost her mind by the time of the story. At the very least, she should be ranked below Jet, seeing as he tried to do the same thing

When you think about it, Hama and Yon Ra can switch places because the reason he raided the south and killed Katara’s mom is because there was one last waterbender left which they assumed was Hama, who blood bent her way to freedom and they thought it may have been her, so they were sent to make sure she was eliminated so she couldn’t teach her deadly technique to others. The idea of Hama is what caused Kya’s death.

Some corrections: 1. Rue isn't a bender 2. It wasn't Aang's idea to take away Liling's bending, it was Toph's. 3. Liling tried to bury her own freaking daughter ( Rue ) alive. That seems pretty evil.

Ozai deserves to be number one. Unlike every other villain, who have redemptions/have redeemable qualities or has an excuse for being evil, Ozai was just evil from birth, basically the Voldemort of the Avatar universe.

While I don't agree with all placements ultimately the reasons are pretty nitpicky and you could argue either way. Overall pretty good and accurate list.

Unalaq should be higher than six. This man was on the verge of sending the world into 10,000 years of chaos and darkness. Almost wiped out the entire Avatar line and purposely almost killed Korra while in the Avatar State and tried recreating the Avatar under his own power but to be evil. Not only that he betrayed zaheer and his cronies to gain more power which sent them into a further plunge. Him at 6 is a massive disagreement for me. He was by far the most evil character in legend of Korra. Imo higher than Azula and the earth bender above him

Most Evil Unalaq because he wanted Ten Thousand years of Darkness plus he Also traded his soul to Vaatu. 2.Ozai he wanted to bring the world to a complete end with the Power of the Comet and to Wipe out the Earthkingdom. 3.Sozin Betrayed Avatar Roku and he used the Comet out the Air Nomads. 4.Amon wanted to Terrorize Republic City and Overthrow Avatar Korra. 5.Yakone Wanted to Overthrow Aang and Occupy Republic City. 6.Hama Forced Katara to Bloodbend Aang and her friends and turn the moon against her making her into a Bloodbener.

June kind of reminds me of Catwoman with being a person looking to make a living over spreading chaos and dominance plus she has a whip. Though Catwoman does a lot of stealing.

I completely agree on putting Ozai above Sozin. I think it’s worth mentioning that Ozai was going to torch the ENTIRE EARTH KINGDOM. Which is like 1000 times larger than the four Air Temples all put together. He wouldn’t just be commiting mass genocide, he would also be responsible for the extinction of hundreds if not thousands of species of animals and insects only found in the Earth Kingdom. Ozai would have single-handedly caused the same amount of casualties in WW2 with that single action.

Honestly, Sozin may have had some redeeming qualities, but the shere fact that every single death, atrocity, and destruction during the original series and prior to it during the 100 year war, can be traced back to him. Plus, the fact that he backstabbed Roku, his former best friend, the way he did, even after Roku had originally spared his life just brings it up even more for me. He's definitely number 1 in my book, but I get why you ranked him the way you did

Unalaq literally caused chaos to the Southern Water Tribe, caused his brother to get banished from the Northern Water Tribe, manipulated and used both of his children, set free Vaatu, the LITERAL embodiment of evil for power and to cause darkness to the entire world, just to get placed under Azula, who was mentally ill, called a monster by her mother, and was used as a weapon for Ozai. Idk bout yall but Unalaq is definitely in the top 3 for me.

How is Unalaq only 6th? The man betrayed his brother, was behind an attempt to kidnap Korra, his nephew, when she was a child, then he became a dictator over the south pole (which are supposed to be the people he is most related to after the population of the north pole), made an unfair trial to make his brother look even worse, and of course: tried to kill Korra (again, his nephew) and make the world enter an era of darkness for 10000 years. How is that not firat place?

The one villain that I think is the most evil is Unalaq because he sold his soul to Vaatu after trying to rid the world of Ten Thousand Years Of Darkness.

I agree Iroh seem more of trying to be a good son to Azulon and help in the 100 year war when he was general. After all, Ursa said it herself that besides her kids Iroh was a shining light during her marriage to Ozai. I doubt she would say that if Iroh was truly cruel and evil prior to the death of Iroh’s son.

Azula technically killed Aang would've ended the Avatar cycle had it not been for Katara and the spirit water.
