Avoid this Pickleball Mistake: Predictability and Over-Targeting in Pickleball Game
In this video, we explore the limitations of over-targeting in a pickleball game. Limiting your area of play and allowing an opponent to camp out in the middle of the court can prove to be the wrong strategy.

Aloha! I really like this format. A good many of us have been working on the fundamentals for a long time, and will continue to, but acquiring advanced skills such as you have presented here, is really helpful. Oftentimes we "react" to shots from opponents, rather than respond or create the scenarios we envision for success! Thanks again!!!

Do these players not know how to lob? Esp. the one on the lower left...she has the whole back court to lob over the player that lives in the middle at the net.

I agree with you Komer, I know that it is not used in mens pro games bcs it is not efective most of the time but I think in womens games would be a shoot to consider in the play.

Is primarily targeting Corin the wrong strategy against that team? I would say not. If we look at almost any pro coed match we see most teams targeting the women or what teams consider the weaker player. You are right about keeping the the non targeted player honest by targeting the spot behind them when you perceive that they have come over to far. The better question may be is how to use isolation properly for a winning strategy. Check out this video by prime time pickleball. @@BestPickleballCoach That may be the case yet I think that the only reason that it worked is because they were targeting Corin so much. If they chose to target the best women player in the world instead she may have made them pay for the extra touches she got. For most people the shot that Simone put away off the dink to Corin would not be attackable. If she got a lot more of those marginally attackable shots who knows what the outcome would be.
