The intro, the synth, the drummer, the breathes in the arrangement, the singing, the smooth dance, the breakdown and the unexpected Modulation/Key change at the end section... Chef kiss composition of one of the best songs ever made. Incredibly unique song, the mixing is fantastic I've only seen very few songs to have such a build up that is close to From Dusk Till Dawn, absolutely mindblowing lol my jaw is dropped no matter how many times I watch and listen to it, a song where you don't know what to expect from the beginning to end, I can only imagine being there with the crowd 🦊🤘🏼
Welcome back to the Foxhole.🦊🤘🔥 Thanks for coming back with this song from Metal Resistance released in 2016, one of the underrated tracks but hidden gem for some fans and it's one of my favorite BM songs. This was performed along with Syncopation in the middle of setlist during Doomsday III and IV, it got that epic and ethereal vibes and it shows a mature side in BM second album, Metal Resistance. Both songs are part of that album, only thing is FDTD was released for international market and Syncopation only locally, of course is another suggestion for next reaction. This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that. Thankfully they performed this twice in 2021 at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job. Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR although this one is a fan edit with another English translation, but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of four songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song. Love that dubstep or brostep breakdown, is a genre widely know and popular around 2015 thanks to Skrillex among others, he actually become very good friend with BM and even invite them to perform during a Skrillex show in Japan playing a remix version of Gimme Chocolate!! Ganz klar eines der interessantesten Lieder von Babymetal überhaupt und für uns auch eines der Besten. Schade nur, dass in der Live Version das "BREAK" zu leise ist. Für uns immer noch unverständlich, dass dieses wunderschöne Lied auf dem Album ausgetauscht wurde.

This was a compilation of the two live performances they did of this song at Budokan 2021 (so the sound was not always perfectly in time with the visuals, but as the two performances were almost identical it is a very good way to make a video that won't be blocked). The only other time they played this live was at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017 and there are only fancam videos from that performance as the pro-shot video became subject to some sort of copyright dispute. The English subtitles (although the song is entirely sung in English) are a bit hit and miss, like a best guess - the official lyrics have never been published. This song was on the international release of the second album, the Japanese edition had 'Syncopation' instead. They are two very different but equally great songs. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' was the only song from the first two albums that they did not play live over the course of the two nights at the Tokyo Dome in 2016. I believe it was only because of a fan campaign when they ran a poll for the 10 most popular songs to go on the 10th anniversary album (this song was voted in but did not get onto the album) that they played it at two of the 10th anniversary shows at the Budokan in 2021.

Different people have made different guesses. I can see a few lines in these subtitles which definitely do not match what I am hearing, but I also could not write down all the lyrics with 100% confidence of my own choices. If you understand English, the best approach is to listen without any subs or preconceptions besides the title and staging, and decide for yourself.

Su mit Kopfstimme gibt es nur sehr selten zu hören - spontan fällt mir nur ein kurzer Moment in Rondo of Nightmare ein. Wenn ich ehrlich sein soll, glaube ich aber nicht, dass sie die Strophen tatsächlich live singt. Das Stück hat lange ein bisschen ein Schattendasein geführt, nicht zuletzt, weil es auf der japanischen Variante des Albums gar nicht vorhanden ist. Dort gibt es Syncopation stattdessen (einer meines Lieblings-Songs übrigens). 2021 wurde es auch seit vielen Jahren zum ersten Mal wieder live vorgeführt. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich selbst es auch erst seitdem richtig zu schätzen gelernt habe.
Great reaction to one of my favorite, and unrated, Babymetal songs! Only played live twice, and so amazing! Looked like you may have gotten a bit emotional near the end...same as me when I hear it! Saw them live for the first time a few days ago in Boston...will not soon forget that experience! Hope you enjoy your show when you go, and keep us fans in the loop!
Great reaction, danke! "FDTD" is probably their rarest song overall. Because is rare on many aspects: the genre, this is a mix between dream trance and metal. The way su sings it: first in falsetto (I see you got shocked, not the first time we hear it, the first one was in "Tsubasa wo kudasai") and then belting those crazy notes. The song's release, being only in the international version of Metal Resistance (not in the domestic - Japanese - version of the album). Lyrics fully in English and not released officially. And its weir live performances history, including allegedly some copyrights issues for the song's live premiere at Hollywood Palladium in 2017. In conclusion: this is a total oddity... and I love oddities. 🤘🦊
It's an understandable reaction. I've never heard this one before. Su's voice in "Starlight" was truly a brain-stabbing experience, and I would love to hear this song at least once in concert. I am looking forward to November.
Auch wenn du schon 20 songs von Babymetal gehört hast, denke NIE, du hast alles von denen gehört. Die überraschen einen immer wieder (und Su kann eh so ziemlich alles singen). Die Japaner machen keine halben Sachen, soviel steht fest...
